Eleanore B. (Jacko) Kinsey, 91, of Irwin, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 20, 2016 at Walden’s View, North Huntingdon. She was born February 2, 1925 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Kurutz) Jacko and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marianne Kinsey, her son, Thomas L. Kinsey Sr., and siblings, Robert Jacko, Viola Kampert, Irene Braddock, Margaret Kyle, and Robert Jacko. She was a graduate of Norwin High School, class of 1942 and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin where she sang in the funeral choir and was a member of Christian Mothers.

Charles "Charlie" Sidun, Jr.

Charles “Charlie” Sidun, Jr., 90, of Christy Park, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at UPMC McKeesport.  Born in Royal, PA on February 24, 1926, he was a contractor and barber, was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in New Salem, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Al O Mon Forest #138, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Syria Temple of the Shrine in Pittsburgh.  He was a WW II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, and served in the Pacific Theater.  Son of the late Charles and Helen Volosin Sidun, Sr., husband of the late Bertha Jane Mikita Sidun, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Charles Stephen Sidun of McKeesport and Dr. Gary Alan Sidun of McKeesport, and nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Michael, John, and Peter Sidun, Helen Duboy, Mary Vacha, and Anna Magda.  Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A service will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 AM and at St. Sava Orthodox Church on Hartman Street in McKeesport at 10:00 AM with the Very Rev. Ditaly Dudkin officiating.  Panachida will be held Thursday at 7 PM in the funeral home.  Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery.

He was an Army veteran of WWII having training in England for two years before taking part in the D-day invasion on Normandy Beach then fighting thru France, Germany, and Belgium. He was a retired manager for Keystone Plumbing Sales Co., with forty years’ service; a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, where he served and an usher; and was a volunteer at hospitals and nursing homes. He is survived by his wife, Agnes A. (Casey) Kettering; his daughter, Terri Kettering of New Milford; his grandchildren, Casey T. (Scott) Maxwell, and Richard E., and Benjamin J. Laura J. James, age 93 of McKeesport, passed away on September 17, 2016 at Riverside Care Center. Born June 22, 1923 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Casper and Sophie (Osolinski) Rybka and wife of the late Arthur D. James. Laura worked for J & L Steel during WWII. She also worked for The Tasty Donut Bakery in Christy Park. Laura was a member of Corpus Christi Parish. She treasured all aspects of nature and enjoyed relaxing visits to Conneaut Lake. Laura loved taking walks, keeping up on current events, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a Steeler fan who enjoyed a slice of pizza and her occasional beer. She was an avid Bingo player and was a member of the Friendship Club in McKeesport. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (the late William) Isbir, of White Oak; grandson, Bill (Janna) Isbir, of Pittsburgh; sisters, Annette Zyma, of North Versailles and Dolores (John) Marcinko, of Fullerton, CA; brother, Ronald “Rip” (Cheryl) Rybka, of Port Vue; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Castor, Helen Gall, Virginia Macey, Bertha Natale, and Cecelia Sally Rybka. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Corpus Christi Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery. Born May 30, 1934 in Cumberland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lander and Josephine Elizabeth (Lonzo) Fleming, and loving wife of the late Larry V. Reitz, Sr. In her younger years, Irene worked at the McKeesport Eat'n Park as a car-hop for many years. She later went on to work for King's Restaurant as well as a security guard in Pittsburgh, and most recently worked at the Alliance Christian Child Care. She enjoyed going to church at the Glassport Assembly of God where she was a Sunday school teacher and Royal Ranger. In her free time she enjoyed volunteering at Cornerstone TV, playing Yahtzee and spending time with her faithful dog, Hanna. Irene is survived by her children; Raymond Reitz, Cindy Palmer, Karen Penn, and Irene (Daniel) Brieck; Grandchildren, Chasity (Jeff) Bache, Mandy (Adam) Wagner, Nina (Greg) Plumb, Marty Joe Penn, Daniel (Darcy) Brieck Jr., and Shane Reitz; four great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry V. Reitz, Jr., and her siblings; Ethel, Jean, Mary, Elizabeth, William, and John. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School, was a McKeesport Tiger State AAA wrestling champion in 1996, and attended Pitt and C.C.A.C. Joy Clemont Johnson, 88, of Dravosburg, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016. She was born Nov. 29, 1927, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Harry and Etta Hoagland Johnson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKeesport, and she retired as the executive director of the former YWCA on Ninth Street in McKeesport for many, many years where she and her mother founded the YWCA Garden Club which is now known as the Joyful Bloomers. She was also a member of the McKeesport Kiwanis Club where she was the very first woman inducted and then was elected the first woman president, a member of the Confederation of McKeesport Women’s Club, the Home Gardeners Guild, a member of Elizabeth Chapter No. 418 of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer for the McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center. She is survived by her caregiver, Margaret Ann Cant, of Versailles Borough, cousins, and many, many dear friends. Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
