Lawrence "Larry" Edward Bjornberg, 89, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016. He was born April 22, 1927 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Harry and Emma Gernhardt Bjornberg. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in McKeesport, White Oak American Legion Post 701, the Syria Shriners , Scottish Rite, Caravan No. 20, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Al-O-Mon Forrest 138, Masonic Veterans, Knights of Mecca Past Masters Club and the Duquesne-McKeesport F & AM Lodge # 731 where he was a Past Master. Larry was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving on board the USS Macon and was retired from US Steel Duquesne Works.

Lois M. Brown, age 94, of Port Vue, died July 31, 2016, at her home. Born June 30, 1922, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Henry N. and Margerite P. (Harker) Graff and the wife of the late Carl J. Brown.
Lois was a homemaker and 18 year employee of the former Clover Farm Grocery in Port Vue. She was a member of the former Methodist Church in Versailles.

She was the wife of the late Sam Taksel who died in 1981. She was a former member of Temple B'Nai Israel and was retired from the Dept. of Public Welfare in McKeesport. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) St. Lifer of Colts Neck, NJ, son, Ken Taksel of Pittsburgh, and grandchildren, Lillian, Sam (Anne) and Emily.

Mary Ann Tassone, age 55, of West Newton, formerly of Brentwood, was freed from her battle with cystic fibrosis on August 1, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian. Born December 20, 1960 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Stiles) Hoffman and proud wife of Larry Tassone for 28 years. Mary Ann was a certified esthetician, however her greatest joy was being a homemaker and mother. She was truly a "real life Betty Crocker", and will be remembered for her amazing cooking and baking. She also enjoying spending time fishing with her husband and feeding the bunnies that would visit her in her backyard. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lauren Marie Tassone, of home; siblings, Edward Hoffman, Patti Gilmore, Doris Papariella and Kathy Bryer; mother-in-law, Phyllis Tassone; father-in-law, Joseph Tassone; brother-in-law, Joseph Tassone; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lazaris; nephews, Josh, Jason, Shane and Cole Tassone; nieces, Kattie and Samantha Jones; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Hoffman; brother, Michael Hoffman; and her faithful dog, Lucky.
