William R. "Bill" Linn, 64, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17th 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 28th 1956 in McKeesport to the late Charles E. Linn Jr. and Eleanor Duvall Linn of White Oak. Along with his mother, Bill is survived by his two daughters; Angela (Donald Rudberg Jr.) Linn of Liberty Borough and Jessica (David) Gross of Elizabeth Township. Sister, Kathy DeMarco of Glassport; brother, Charles E. Linn III of White Oak. Grandchildren; Shane, Ryder, and Levi Rudberg, Emma and Jackson. Richard D. “Rich” Kostyzak, Sr., 55, of Glassport passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his home. He was born in McKeesport on April 7, 1965 to William Peter Kostyzak, Sr. and Enise M. Donofrio Kostyzak. In addition to his parents he is survived by daughters Dania Kostyzak, of Glassport and Paige Fields of McKeesport, son Richard D. (Erin) Kostyzak, Jr. of Freeport, grandchildren, Richard III and Evelyn, brother Mike “Zak” Kostyzak, of Glassport, and Melanie Bradley, the mother of his two children. Rich was preceded in death by his brother, William Kostyzak., Jr. He enjoyed music of all kinds, reading, and watching historical documentaries.

William “Bill” Richard Parsons, Jr.

William “Bill” Richard Parsons, Jr., 75, a lifelong resident of Clairton, passed away at his home on Friday July 3, 2020. William was born in Charleroi on June 22, 1945 to the late William R. Parsons, Sr. and Sevilla Simpson Parsons. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Griffiths Parsons. William is survived by his sons William R. (Tamara) Parsons of Hamilton, Ontario Canada, and Chris W. Parsons, of Clairton, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, as well as his dogs Chico and Cisco. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Schimmel. He was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton. William was employed for 40 years at Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth, and was a proud U.S. Marine Corporal, serving in the Drum and Bugle Corps during the Vietnam War. Lillian “Lil” Davis Viehl, 70, of Glassport, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 18, 2020.  She was born in McKeesport on January 4, 1950 to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Lockhart Davis. Lillian is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jacob E. Viehl, daughter; Renee Crosby, of Glassport, sons; Paul (Kimberly) Viehl, of Rostraver Township, and Dean Viehl, of Erie, grandchildren; Jacob Crosby, Jayde Crosby, Evelyn Viehl, Dean Viehl, Danielle Viehl, and Jessica Viehl, great-grandchild Colton Minarchin, sister, Barbara Bodnar, of West Newton, Matilda Blanks, of Butler, and brother; Kenneth (Nancy) Davis. Lillian was preceded in death by five of her brothers and sisters. She was a graduate of South Allegheny, and also studied cometology at McKeesport Vo-Tech. Lillian was owner and operator of her own residential cleaning company. She was a serious sports enthusiast, which extended to her dedication in volunteeting as Team Mom. Lillian enjoyed Bingo, Cooking, but most especially her family who will miss her dearly.

John Fitzgerald Gross, 56, a resident of White Oak for 20 years, formerly of McKeesport passed away on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in McKeesport on May 29, 1964 to the late Eugene and Madeline Medved Gross. He is survived by his former wife and life-long friend Jane Stegman Gross, of White Oak, and their children; David C. (Jessica) Gross, of Elizabeth, and Shawn M. Gross, of White Oak. John also leaves behind his grandchildren; Emma Gross and Jackson Gross, sister Diane (Craig) Brooks, of Elizabeth, his nieces and nephews, and his cats Toby and Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. John was a member of the St. Angela Roman Catholic Church in White Oak, and was employed by Don Farr Moving and Storage as a truck driver.  John was a man that enjoyed eating, loved cats, fishing, crime shows, and napping. He was a man that was a loyal helper, a joker, and he will be missed dearly by all that knew him. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 9am to 12:00 noon at S.M. Charles “Chuck” Zwingler Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Zwingler Jr., 88, of Clairton passed on June 6th, 2020 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1932 the son of the late Charles and Emily Zwingler and brother to the late Loretta “Beezie” Barker and Harry “Luke” Bowen. He was a graduate of McKeesport Votech and retired from Hercules Chemical Corp in 1995. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army where he served with the 18th Airborne Corps Artillery. Chuck was an active member of Pine Run United Methodist Church. He served faithfully in just about every capacity and sang with the chancel choir for 60 years. He volunteered at Clairton Meals on Wheels at the Clairton Food Bank and was past president of the Clairton AARP 1612 where he sang with their Yankee Doodle Dandies. Chuck was a member of the Omni Masonic Lodge #582, American Legion Post #0075 and Steel Valley Lifespan. He enjoyed researching his ancestry, history, traveling, watching Pittsburgh sports and taking Sunday naps. Chuck was a friend to all and deeply loved his friends, family and community. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lois Cochran Zwingler; his son, Charles (Luanne) Zwingler III of West Mifflin; his daughter, Deborah (Ronald) Lieberum of Elizabeth Township; and his grandchildren Amy (Brendan Coticchia) Lieberum, Charles Zwingler IV, John (Alexis) Zwingler and Ronald (Sarah) Lieberum Jr.; great-granddaughter Isabella; step grandchildren, Matthew (Suzy) Hickey and Amanda (Michael) Pippi; step-great grandchildren Brynlie, Emmett, Violet and Nora; sister-in-law Ruth Ulmer (the late William Ulmer); and several nieces and nephews. John Francis Remetta 76, of Monroeville, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Friday May 29, 2020 at his home. He was born in Glassport on January 2nd, 1944 to the late John J. Remetta and Regina Yeash Remetta. John is survived by his brother James E. Remetta of Glassport and his nieces Regina Remetta of Pocono Mountain, and Jennifer Brown of Altoona, nephews, Loren (Noel) Remetta, and Timothy (Pam) Brown of Yadley, PA, as well as his great niece Caroline and great nephews Mateo, and Rafael Remetta, and brother-in-law Donald Brown of Yardley, PA. John was preceded in death by his sister Clementine Brown. He was a member of the Queen of The Rosary Church in Glassport. John’s favorite things to do were to play volleyball, and racquet ball as well as follow his nephew Loren’s successful ice hockey career at Penn State University. He was an avid follower of all Pittsburgh professional sports teams. John was a huge health food fanatic and took great pride in his own health and wellbeing. He was a proud uncle and great uncle and loved his family dearly.

Robert E. “Bobby” Cosgrove, 71 passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. He was born in McKeesport on December 3rd, 1948 to the late Raymond F. and Jane Lucille Martin Cosgrove. Robert is survived by his brother Raymond H. (Bevelyn) Cosgrove of Dravosburg, and sister Lois (Tom) Gelety of Pasadena Maryland. Robert is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, Wayne of Dravosburg, Nate (Isha) of Buena Vista, Pam (Jeremy) of Glassport, Stephen (Courtney) of Arnold city Maryland, Matt (Brittany) of Bowie, Maryland, and Elizabeth (Aron) of Pasadena, Maryland, as well as his great nieces and nephews Sami of McKeesport, Alyssa of Dravosburg, Caelan of Glassport, Hannah of Glassport, Isabella of Buena Vista, and Sean of Buena Vista. Robert is also survived by his great, great nieces Madilynn and Lillian of McKeesport. He was a member of the Dravosburg Methodist Church and loved to mingle with friends. Robert had many interests and enjoyed listening to the songs of Johnny Cash where he could let go and be himself. Some of his other interests were clowns, balloons, and he always seemed to carry a bag of nuts and bolts with him wherever he went. John “Sidekick” Jordan, age 45, of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at his home.  He was born in McKeesport on May 13, 1974 and is the son of Joseph C. Jordan, Sr. of White Oak and Wilma Emerick Hatridge of McKeesport. John was employed by JG Construction Company in Clairton.  He was a good, hardworking family man who loved working on cars, painting, listening to music, apending time with his family and playing video games with his children and stepchildren. In addition to his parents he is survived by his daughters, Danielle Haas of McKeesport, her son William Jr. and daughter Journei. His eldest daughter Samantha Marie Jordan of Smock, PA as well as her children Ania Marie, Kaylum Garret, and Karma Kathleen. His brothers, Dominic (Ashley) Jordan of South Carolina, Joseph (Tammy Hofmiester) Jordan, Jr. of West Mifflin, Angelo Jordan of McKeesport; sister, Charity Jordan; stepbrothers, Lance McPherson of Elizabeth, Robert Jordan of McKeesport, Steven Jordan of Texas; also, many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Hope Jordan Egenlauf as well as her four children whom he loved dearly.

Dawn Nikole Lea Trainer 28, of McKeesport passed away unexpectedly due to heart failure complications on April 26, 2020 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in McKeesport on June 26, 1991 to her loving parents Donald Leonard Trainer of Turtle Creek and Rhonda (Ben) Cochran of Grover N.C. She was the loving partner to Sherwood Saunders of McKeesport to whom she often referred to as the love of her life. Dawn is survived by her beautiful daughter Hailey Jayde Trainer as well as her brothers Daniel Abell of Greentree, Paris Stevens of Grover N.C and Parker Stevens of Grover N.C. Dawn also leaves behind her beloved grandfather Ken Trainer of Dravosburg, her aunt Carol Daugherty (her favorite) of PortVue, her uncle John McGarrity of Tenth Ward, and partner in crime her cousin Destiny Daugherty of PortVue as well as many more beloved family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Charlotte Trainer and Uncle Chester Daugherty Jr. Some of Dawns favorite things to do were being on social media, and photography. Rosa Colantone D’Appollonio, 93 years old of Glassport, formerly of Lenola, Italy, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Jefferson Regional Hospital. Rosa was born in Lenola, Italy on January 1, 1927, to the late Antonio and Celeste Colantone. Rosa was the loving wife and partner of 60 years to the late Biagio D’Appollonio who passed away in 2006. She was preceded in death by her first-born infant son in 1946. She is survived by her seven children, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Church in Glassport. Rosa was a devoted mother and wife who loved spending time with her family with whom she would do the things that she loved the most. She was born in Sewickley Township on April 26, 1942 to the late George Holomshek and Mary Melon Holomshek. Sandy was the loving wife and partner to Jerry Wilson. She is survived by her daughter Erica Wilson of Dravosburg as well as her grandchildren Eddie May of Pittsburgh, Adrian May of Pittsburgh, Chazae Martin of McKeesport, Promyse Martin of Dravosburg and her many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers Nicholas (Janice) Holomshek of Blytehdale, and Paul (Diane) Holomshek of West Mifflin along with her many beloved nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her only son Robert Wilson along with her sisters Anne Organ of Monessen, Alice Smith of Lowber, Evelyn Bente of Miami Springs FL, Nancy Bone of Irwin, as well as her brothers George Holomshek of Hutchinson, Frank Holomshek of Chicago IL, John Holomshek of Mesa AK, Charles Holomshek of Commack NY, and Carl Holomshek of Hermine.

He was born in Homestead on April 29, 1952 to the late Paul and Mary Alice Langley Lebeda.  James was the loving husband of 45 years to Cheryl L. Forbes Lebeda. Along with his wife he is also survived by brothers Robert Lebeda, of Ligonier, and David Lebeda of Roswell, NM, sisters Darlene (Donald) Rutter, of Swissvale, and Debra (Gregory) Haughey, of Glassport, nephew Michael Miller, of Glassport, great niece Rylee Miller, of Glassport, and Godchildren David and Destiny Nehila, both of Clairton. He was a lifetime member of the Citizens Hose Company in Glassport, and was in the United States Marine Corp. James was formerly employed at W.M.M.C., Inc, Hazardous Waste removal in Pittsburgh for 14 years, and also Allegheny General Hospital as security for 10 years. Ruth Rushe 78, of Glassport, passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020 in her home. She was born in Glassport on August 8, 1941 to the late William Rushe and Agnes Tachoir Rushe. Ruth is survived by her two sisters JoAnne Rushe of Glassport and Agnes Barrett of Glassport, as well as her two brothers Robert (Lori) Rushe of Duquesne, and Ralph Rushe of New Baltimore Michigan. Ruth is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews whom she cared for deeply. She was preceded in death by her three brothers Billy, Terry, and Tommy Rushe. Ruth spent her earlier years as an Administrative Clerk at the Credit Union where she could help people with their day to day routines. Ruth was a member of the Queen of The Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Some of her favorite things to do were to bake cakes and candies as well as her many crafts. Private services have been entrusted to E.C. Ruth M. “G.G” Hodge Smitley, 98 of Finleyville, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2020 at her home. She was born on May 18, 1921 to the late David Hodge and Anna Kennedy Hodge. Ruth was the loving wife and best friend to the late George L. Smitley for 51 years before his death at the age of 72. Ruth enjoyed her role as a domestic engineer where she could care for her family and give them the best life possible. She is survived by her daughter Ruthann (George) Adams of Finleyville, her daughter Mary Lincoln of Point Marion, her daughter Priscilla Martin of McKeesport, and her son George (Judy) Smitley of Jefferson Hills. Ruth is also survived by her sisters MaryJane McCorkle of Elizabeth and Alice Bucy of Indiana. Ruth was preceded in death by her two daughters Ethel Porter and Alice Lewis as well as her brothers Clyde, David, Robert, and John Hodge. She was also preceded by her sisters Margaret Swarz, Annamae Core, and Gwendolyn Hodge.
