Cecelia "Cece" L. Page, age 79 of North Huntingdon passed away March 28, 2021. She was born September 22, 1941 in Meyersdale, Pa., daughter of the late Lynn L. "Jack" and Clara Murray Shultz. Cecelia was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon.
Prior to her retirement she was employed as a secretary for the Norwin High School Guidance Department with over 20 years of service. She loved working with the students and cherished her time with the guidance crew. Cece enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting, orchestra and Norwin Band events. She was a member of the card club of Roberta Drive, and was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.

G. Scott McIntosh, 73, of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. He was born February 6, 1948 in Brownsville, Pa., a son of the late Gilbert and Doreen (Sams) McIntosh. Prior to his retirement, Scott was a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting skeet and clay pigeons. Elizabeth “Betty” Robbins 92, of White Oak, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021. Betty was born October 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Stefan and Stella (Damaski) Kozlowski. She was the wife of her beloved husband, the late William "Billy" Robbins. Betty was a remarkable woman. She worked for 26 years at the City of Pittsburgh Office of Personnel and after retiring from that position moved on to work for 8 years at the Federal Jury office becoming the Jury Supervisor, she got her driver’s license at the age of 40 and also obtained her GED at age 40...”just because”.

Lois V. Churchman Mann Phippen, 93, died Sunday, March 21, 2021, in The Villages, Fla., where she was living with her youngest daughter, Jodean.
Lois was born in McKeesport, PA, on October 14,1927, the daughter of Harvey M Churchman and Bessie Hannah Dom Churchman.
Lois was deeply committed to her large and loving family. She was a woman of great faith in Jesus Christ. Praise, worship and church were very important to her and her family who often spent time together singing and talking about their faith. She was a joy to all who were part of her life, often offering to pray for or with anyone in need.

Lois Whitney Servov Clark, 86, of Ocean Springs, Miss., passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
She was born on June 29, 1934 in McKeesport, PA to Bill and Dorothy Whitney. She attended St. Peter’s High School in McKeesport, PA. Lois’ life work was most notably taking care of her children and grandchildren, but the family enjoyed listening to her stories about her employment for the city of McKeesport, PA and her time at Glass Motors in Gulfport, MS. She dearly loved spending time with her family, spending time outdoors, and endlessly watching Shirley Temple movies.
She is survived by her daughter, Daryle Servov; grandchildren, Kara and Brady Davis, Jenna and Jason Carroll, Jarred and Haley Seymour, Kelsey and Matthew Brown; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Amelia Davis, Jaycee and Jules Carroll, Casen, Camille, Violet, and Jameson Seymour, and McCully and Eleanor Brown; and sister, Dorothy Mae Holtzman.

Gary W. Rae, 66, of Port Vue, died March 27, 2021. He is the son of the late William and Edith (Clark) Rae and beloved husband of Barbara (McKnight) Rae. Gary is survived by his daughter Kylee Rae; son Vincent Rae; step son Derek (Dayna) Roskovski; step daughters Crystal (Brian) Gregor and Samantha (Chris) Moxley; grandchildren Joshua Faulkner and Alexa Lasher; step grandchildren Andrew, Bella, Sean, Brian, Aiden, Logan, Gavin, Megan, Mason and Caden; daughter-in-law Deneen Sobota; sister Jean Puglin; also many “favorite” nieces and nephews. Marcus “Marc” Glenn Stauffer Jr., 72, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Marc grew up in White Oak, PA and lived in a few places before settling in Arlington, Virginia where he spent the majority of his years.
Marc graduated from McKeesport Senior High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and his continued education included a bachelor’s degree from Bethany College, in Bethany, West Virginia, as well as a Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York, and Doctor of Theology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Marc was an avid reader, lover of genealogy, wildlife, conservation, LGBTQ+ rights, political science, and he loved his morning conversations with family and friends. Marc also loved animals, as he and his husband had numerous cats and dogs throughout their lives. Marc found joy in cuddling with pets, as they brought him comfort and companionship after the passing of his husband, Steve.

Karen M. (Tom Katona) Paterra, 71, lifelong resident of Versailles Borough, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 in White Oak. Karen was born in McKeesport on April 14, 1948, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Smith) Paterra of Versailles Borough. She was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Paterra who died in 1972. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Church - St. Patrick Worship Site, The Palenese League of America, and served as a past officer of the Palenese Women's Auxiliary She was retired from the County of Allegheny where she worked for over 24 years as an administrative secretary. Karen was a jack-of-all-trades. and would attempt any home repair job that she physically could. She was a women of great faith and her family was the center of her world. She was a 1966 graduate of McKeesport High School. From 1969 to 1971 she traveled to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and France. For her, the highlight of these travels was when she was so close to Pope Paul VI, she could almost reach out and touch him.

She loved going to the Twinsburg Festival in Ohio with her twin sister Ella and her greatest comfort was walking through the Holy Doors of the Vatican in Rome.

She was the wife of the late David J. Shegan, who passed away April 18, 1979. “Margie” graduated from McKeesport High School in 1945. As a young woman she worked as a camera girl at the Vogue Terrace in North Versailles and subsequently in the mail room at the Irvin Works before starting a family with her husband. Margie was a member of St. Sava Orthodox Church in McKeesport, where she was a former member of The Young at Heart's group. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She loved traveling, beach vacations and annual family reunion weekends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Walker. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and had a Masters from the University of Pittsburgh in Microbiology. He worked as a Loan Officer at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, a Travel Agent for American Express, was a former Democratic Committee Planner, a Partner in Sera-Tech Biologicals in Oakland, and was a licensed funeral director in the Pittsburgh area. Robert was a member of the Sixth Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Mediation Society, and took part in the Presbyterian Peace Keeping Mission.

Helen (Glazar) Karczewski, 96, died Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 96 with her daughters by her side. Helen was the devoted wife of the late Edward Karczewski. Loving mother of Diane (the late Ralph) Falvo, Susan (Wayne Jones) Karczewski, Mary Jo (Mark) Jacko and the late Karen (the late Jim) Liebmann. She was the adoring grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 10. She is also survived by her brother, Ted Glazar, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Helen loved to cook, bake bread and make pierogis.
She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She volunteered at St. Jude Church and was a member of the St. Jude Rosary Society. She enjoyed puzzles and gardening.

Samuel V. Milice, age 88 of Liberty Borough, passed away peacefully in his sleep and surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in UPMC McKeesport.
Born September 30, 1932 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Campo) Milice and husband of 67 years of the love of his life, the late Norma Jean (Miller) Milice, who passed away May 23, 2020. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Samuel was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish in Liberty Borough and retired after 30 years as postmaster at the McKeesport Post Office.
In his spare time, Samuel enjoyed duck pin bowling at the lanes in Glassport, rooting on the hometown Pittsburgh sports teams, and was a member of the Lions Club, the Natl. Assoc. of Postmasters, the Nat. Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, the Liberty Borough Veterans, the Croatian Club #146, the Sons of Italy in Glassport. Most of all, Samuel loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his children Samuel Anthony (Christine) Milice, Cheryl (David) Dujmic, and Debbie (Greg) Swank; his grandchildren Nicole (Michael) Hetrick, Shaun (Alecia) Johnston, Samuel (Jennifer) Johnston, Alexi (Brandon) Darr, and Chelsi and Aubri Swank; his great-grandchildren Samantha Hetrick, Micah Hetrick, and Madison Johnston; his sister Nancy Porecco of Colorado Springs, CO; and also nieces and nephews. Damont Lewis Adams, 21, of Duquesne was born July 21, 1999 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The beloved son of Lamont Adams, and Tammy Demery Adams departed this life on March 13, 2021. Damont graduated from West Mifflin High School. He worked at Family Dollar in Duquesne as a stock person and cashier. He was a dedicated worker whom loved his job; he was happy to tell everyone about it. You could see him walking to work down Grant just enjoying life.
Damont was a very loving soul he always had a smile and a hug waiting for you. His momma called him Pooh Bear in the NICU as he only weighed 2 pounds. Damont fought to be in this world. Damont loved music and loved to dance. He loved spending time with his brothers, sister, family and his girlfriend. He loved his brother Smoke (dog) they would fight every day. His favorite Teacher was Mrs. Ward from Propel School in McKeesport.

Marvin R. Berk, 90, of White Oak, died Monday March 15, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1930 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Samuel W. and Lottie Berk. Marvin retired as the third generation owner and operator of Berk’s Menswear, North Huntingdon, a business started by his grandfather in downtown Irwin in 1917 and currently owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Berk family.
He was a longtime member and past president of the Norwin Rotary Club and actively involved in other civic organizations such as the Norwin Area Chamber of Commerce and the Township Association of Businesses. Marvin was instrumental in organizing the Foothills Football Classic, displaying the area’s top high school football talent as a way to give an opportunity for scholarship exposure and promotion of the Norwin area.
He was a graduate of Irwin High School where he was class Valedictorian, received a master’s degree from Penn State University, and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Robert E. Hodder, 86, of North Huntingdon, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was born on November 24, 1934 in East McKeesport.
Bob was an outstanding, multisport athlete at East McKeesport High School, graduating in 1952. After graduating he became an avid fast-pitch softball player for several teams in McKeesport and Greensburg. His teams competed on a local and national level and even competed in several world fast-pitch tournaments. He played for over 20 years, finally retiring from the game at age 44.
He was a 43-year employee of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, starting in their fledgling computer science program and working his way up into various leadership positions until retiring in 1996. At the time of his retirement he was then the longest-tenured employee of Westinghouse. He was an unabashed Anglophile who while employed by Westinghouse spent time living and working in England. This allowed him to indulge in his favorite sport, English football. He shared a passion with his son and grandson for Liverpool FC and loved to watch their matches together.
He was a long-time member of Christian Life Church in Trafford where he was an elder. He was also a teacher at Christian Life and worked with various youth groups.
In retirement, he enjoyed weekly lunches with his many friends and also loved nothing more than to spend time with his grandchildren. He was always in attendance at his grandkid’s games, school events, recitals, plays, and musicals, regardless of where, when, or how boring.

Darlene R. Kmetko, 75, was born January 14, 1946 in McKeesport and moved to North Versailles, PA. She was the beloved daughter of Ruth Casey (Buzek) and Raymond Casey Sr. She departed this life at 4:25am Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Manor Care-Shadyside Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Salter Sr.; mother, Ruth Casey (Buzek); and brothers Raymond Casey Jr., James Casey and John Casey.
Darlene attended CCAC and graduated from Connelly Nursing School in Pittsburgh PA. Upon graduating, she worked as an LPN for Riverside Nursing Home.
Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family, praying and worshipping, cooking/baking, reading, listening to music, Bingo, fishing, gardening, watching movies (especially Tyler Perry MADEA), eating out, movies, sports, and comedy.
Darlene was a member of Mulberry Community Full Gospel Church located in Wilkinsburg, PA.

James (“Jim”) Emery, 91, of Alachua, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL after a brief illness. He was born September 1929 in Dravosburg, Pa., to the late David and Elizabeth Emery and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy, his sons, James (Chris), and Glenn (Kelly), his grandchildren, James, Michael (Ashley), and Tedi Marie and his great-grandchildren, Iris and Beckett.
He graduated from McKeesport Vocational High School prior to serving in the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home after his service he became a carpenter at Mesta Machine Company where he worked for more than 29 years. Prior to moving to Alachua, Fla., Jim was a long-time resident of West Mifflin, Pa., where he coached his boys in little league, was their "den mother" in the Cub Scouts and biggest supporter in everything they did.

Michael Goda Jr., age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 15, 2021. Born July 13, 1928 in Cokeburg, PA, he was the son of the late Michael Goda Sr. and Maria (Kovalchik) Goda.
During the Depression of 1930, Mike, his mother and two siblings left the United States and went back to Slovakia, where the family was from. In 1948, Michael returned to the United States where he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 31st Infantry Dixie Division in the Korean War. He worked at U.S. Steel Clairton Works for 31 years.
Mike was an avid singer, not only at home but as a cantor for 25 years at Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church.
If you knew Mike, you knew he loved to work on his farm where he gardened and raised sheep for many years. He also enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s sporting events where everyone knew him as “Pap.” He never met a person he didn’t like and always enjoyed talking to everyone.

Gilbert J. Pearsol, 75, of North Versailles, passed away, Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born May 11, 1945 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank and Jane (Jenkins) Pearsol, and in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Vera Jane Jones.
Gilbert was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, formerly St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport where he was active as a reader and lay minister. He worked as auto mechanic for over 45 years at various car care centers including Dean Honda, Langston Subaru, Smail Acura, Spitzer Toyota, and most recently he owned and operated Gil’s Collectables, White Oak, specializing in sports memorabilia.
Gilbert volunteered for the East Allegheny Athletic Assoc., where he was a little league coach for the Ann McKay baseball team. He loved spending time with his family, taking trips to Disney World, and greatly enjoyed all of his grandchildren.

Eugenia “Jeanie” Slutyak Longcrier, age 82, of Duquesne, passed away at home on March 3, 2021. H. Vaughn "Pap" Gilbert, Sr., 89, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born August 29, 1931 in Christy Park and was the son of the late Elizabeth (Vaughn) and David S. Gilbert, Sr. He was the husband of 60 years to the late Shirley Ann (Sandmeyer) Gilbert, who passed away June 10, 2012. Vaughn was in the US Naval Reserves. He was an active member of Greenock United Methodist Church and a life member of The Central Vol. Fire Department. Vaughn was an amazing carpenter and cabinet maker and lent his talents and skills to many family members, friends, his church and firehall over the years. He was the owner of over 25 years of the former Wood Products Supply and retired as a kitchen designer at the Sutersville Lumber Company.

Raymond G. York, age 93 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 7, 1927 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Andrew and Rose M. (Lutheran) York. A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish – St. Clare of Assisi Church, Raymond received an associate’s degree from Carnegie Tech and retired as a draftsman for US Steel’s Clairton Works. He was also a Veteran of both the US Navy and Army, serving respectively in World War II and the Korean War. Raymond was very active with the Daniel Keffer Post #75 of the American Legion in Clairton, serving as its past commander, chaplain, and financial officer. He also helped many times as a Scoutmaster for his sons’ BSA Troops when they were younger. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed rooting on the hometown Steelers and Pirates. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Rita (Belinski) York; his children Randall (Mary) York of Dormont, Monica King of Stow, OH, and Richard York of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren Jennifer York of Reston, VA, Maureen (J.W.) Johnson of Carnegie, Becca Tracy of Nashville, TN, and Brett (Lauren) Tracy of Seattle, WA; his great-grandson Beck Johnson; his sister Rosemary Armstrong of Syracuse, NY; and also nieces and nephews. Barbara B. Brady, 80, of Sewickley Township, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was born December 9, 1940 in Braddock and grew up in East McKeesport. She was the daughter of the late William Beck and Ruth (Eckenrode) Beck Aiton. Barbara worked at the University of Pittsburgh before raising her family, later returning to work at the former Daily News in McKeesport and the former Baldock nursing home in North Huntingdon where she enjoyed playing the piano for the residents. She was a member of The Church in Sutersville and the former Sutersville Presbyterian Church. Barbara loved going to the ocean throughout her entire life and was able to see, and touch, the ocean for the last time in December. Barbara, most of all, loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren, often traveling to celebrate birthdays, attend soccer matches, band and orchestra concerts, dance recitals, and high school and college graduations.

Daniel Gary "BIG DANNY" Foster, age 72, of Meadville, formerly of McKeesport, went ALL IN on pocket aces and busted on March 3, 2021, in Meadville, PA. He was born in Pittsburgh on February 5, 1949. He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Wissman) Foster and the LOVING husband of Hope (Dunn) Foster for 44 years. Dan retired as a property manager at Apartments Unlimited in 2003 to aggressively pursue a career as a professional gambler. He was also the wildly successful owner and operator of the legendary Dunn's Dairy in McKeesport for almost 20 years. Big Danny could flip a burger like no other, "The DUNNBURGER", and could play a mean game of pinball. He was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School after successfully digging graves to pass Latin. Dan was a US Army veteran and toured in Korea. He was known for many things throughout his life. Dan had an incredible sense of humor and an uncanny way to make you laugh at will. He was a role model to many, a rock of stability, and a fierce family man. He enjoyed playing cards with his McKeesport life-long friends, Mama Pepino's cohorts, and many, many trips to the casino. He had an intense passion for coaching his Daughter Hayley's softball teams and relaxing to Doo-Wop oldies. The most important thing to Big Danny was his family's happiness. He loved and adored his precious grand-babies.

Anna worked at the family bar, the Clover Tavern, where she bartended and cooked and cared for her family at home. She loved listening to polka music on the weekend, playing bingo and enjoyed a card game of 500 with friends. She especially enjoyed her weekly Saturday movie night dates with her daughter and going out to eat a meal.

Walter G. Moffat, age 88, of Irwin, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. He was born February 20, 1933 in Braddock, a son of the late Paul and Alice (Wells) Moffat. He was an Army veteran that served during the Korean Conflict and then went onto become Vice President of B.W. Otterman Lumber Company before becoming a charter bus driver in his retirement. For 55 years, he was an active member of the Suburban Community Church in Irwin. After his Army motor pool experience, Walt always owned a Jeep and was a founding member of the Triangle Jeepers of Pittsburgh and helped start the East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association. In addition to Jeeps, building and flying airplanes was a lifelong pursuit.

On December 30, 1959, Jeffrey Clark Marshall was born to the late Redina Ann Fletcher. He departed this temporal life on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Jeff graduated from McKeesport High School in 1977 and attended the University of Pittsburgh for 3 years with studies in Engineering. Jeff later attended ICM School of Business and earned an Associate in Applied Science, Major in Computer Science. He worked for Federated Hermes Investment Company for 26 years, starting as a Computer Operator then advancing through the company to his last position as a Senior Database Administrator.
Jeff was a dedicated husband, family man, and friend. He was a Master Mason belonging to Pride of the West Lodge #84 in McKeesport, PA. Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling. He loved attending sporting events and would travel to attend Steeler games when they played out of state. He loved planning family vacations and celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Jeff was known for being the grill master and in addition to his impeccable grilling skills, he was famous for making chicken salad and shrimp fried rice for his family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his late mother Redina Fletcher, step-father Harvey Fletcher, grandmother Gladys Marshall, and cousin Eric Miles.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela of 31 years, daughters Brittney and Adina, son Jeffrey “Isaiah”, three grandsons, Triston, Kingdon and Tru, granddaughter Karsyn, sister Kim, brothers Anthony and Robert “Hinkie”, and aunt Hattie Miles. Jeff is also survived by his nephews, Anthony Jr., Quinte, Kyle, Elijah, JahShawn, and Skai, nieces Tanaya, Sade, Safiyah, Raziya, Libra, Kamryn, Ky’Layah, Kimora, and Karmen. Jeff also leaves to mourn a host of relatives and many close friends.

Madeline Rae Roolf, better known as Maddy, 28, of Trinity County, California, departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2021. She was born on September 16, 1992 in Pittsburgh and was and the daughter of Timothy William Roolf (Kathleen Kugler Yurik) and Jean Webb Roolf. A graduate of Norwin High School, she went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh. Maddy was a horseback riding instructor at GSA Camp Redwing, worked for Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF), and was an integral part of the Deerlick Springs Campground. Her intellect and fortitude truly served not only her vision of solidarity with nature, but between people as well. She used her love of music and art to contribute to the activism that defined her life; everything she did was devoted to her passion of bettering humanity and the planet while traveling with her well-trained dogs, Kali, Judson and the late Maggie. Her nomadic existence was a blessing to this world, as her presence affected more people than even she could have ever known.

John Paul Amos, 73, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Greenock, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 27, 1947 (a date he liked to remind his family and friends he shared with US Grant) in Washington, PA and was the son of the late Robert N. and Edith M. (Roberts) Amos. "Johnny A." graduated from California University of PA in 1970 and Elizabeth Forward High School in 1965. John also received certificates for his professional and technical training from the Harvard University Project on Negotiation, Penn State University, University of Pittsburgh, California University and ICM School of Business. John served in US Army Security Agency as a Hebrew Interpreter/Translator from 1971-1974. During Army Basic Training, he qualified as an Expert Rifleman - a top proficiency status above sharpshooter. He was married a couple of times but found true love with his friend Joyce Junecko with whom he was deeply in love for the last decades of his life. John worked for technology and logistics companies, spending 13 years with Digital Equipment Corporation where he was recognized for excellence in sales numerous times performing in the top 10% of the professional sales force. Later he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at a Hebrew based logistics company in Pittsburgh. He ended his professional career as President of SalesTek. John was a member of the Greenock United Methodist church in his formative years attending Sunday School, church and MYF every week until going to college. John will be remembered by his family and friends for: his trombone playing at EFHS, drag racing his 1967 Camaro, smoking fine cigars, his and Joyce's annual Pig Roasts, serving as President of WORGC, his skeet shooting, work with the NRA Youth Shotgun Program, his NRA Instructor Certification in Pistol, Shotgun and Range Safety Officer. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Keith Amos.

Evelyn L. (Swank) Pennington departed this world to meet her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2021, after 86 years. She was born December 1, 1934 to the late Daniel and Stella (Painter) Swank. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Pennington, in 2013; son, Bruce Pennington; grandson, D. “Bud” Flinner; and all of her many siblings- Helen Trent, Ethel Cochran, Donna Kelley, and Daniel Swank. She leaves behind three children- Debbie (Stan) Flinner, Darlene Pennington, and Dave Pennington; as well as granddaughter Nikki Flinner, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at both Golden Heights Personal Care Home and Transitions Health Care, as well as her hospice team for the kindness and compassion they showed Evelyn in her final days. At her request, there will be no public viewing; and a private interment will be held. Larry Knight, Jr., age 68, of Washington, PA, formerly of the North Side of Pittsburgh, died March 3, 2021, at Montefiore Medical Center. Born February 23, 1953, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Lauro and the late Azzie Lee (Jackson) Knight.
Larry last worked at Shop-N-Save, in Washington, where he worked in the prepared foods department. He also worked for the Salvation army in North Side of Pittsburgh. He served in the US Marine Corps. during peacetime. Larry was a member of the Life Church of Washington, where he was a choir member. He enjoyed reading, cooking, and singing.

Gerald “Poppa” Skalka, 82, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 4, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. He was born May 3, 1938 in North Braddock and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Ondrey) Skalka. Jerry proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1967 and went on to serve in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, eventually retiring as a Technical Sergeant in April of 1994. Jerry wore many hats in his life from computer work to a steel worker. After leaving his childhood home in North Braddock, PA, he moved around until he ultimately settled in North Huntingdon, PA, for a lengthy portion of his life. It was here that he raised four children and accepted an additional two children to create his blended family after his marriage to SandraLee (Bishop) Skalka. He was left widowed after her passing on January 20, 2011. Jerry loved to split his time living with his daughter, Janel, in Hunker, PA, and escaping from the winter cold to warmer weather in San Diego, CA, where he would reside with his son, Vincent. Poppa enjoyed spending his days outdoors cutting grass, tinkering with the cars, and tending to his garden, which he always made the flowers look amazing. Also, let’s not forget all of those trips to Dunkin’ Donuts or to his favorite casino! He was always up for “useless trivia” as he would call it. He had such a distinct sense of humor and would do anything to make you laugh. A man of few words, but always there when you needed him.

Joyce Lynne VanSickle, age 59, of McKeesport, PA, formerly of Welch, WV, died Sunday, February 28th, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born July 29, 1961, in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Mildred (nèe Jarrett) and Robert Fain. Joyce was a nurse and worked primarily in West Virginia. She always enjoyed art and poetry and had a lifelong love of owls. Christopher "Lick" Kray Rendulic, 46, of Marion, IN, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021. He was born November 13, 1974 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William F. and Deanna (Durbin) Rendulic. Chris was always a dedicated, intelligent and a hard worker, who worked as an electrician at the General Motors Marion Indiana Plant. Growing up, Chris was an avid soccer player and bike rider, which led to many life long friendships. You could ask anyone, Chris antagonized each and every one of his nieces and nephews in different ways. He loved messing around and playing with them, but always brought them anything they wanted, including their favorite, strawberry milk. Chris loved watching, talking, and sharing new movies with his friends and family. He also loved going to the casino.

Peggy Ann Lightfoot Stokes, 66, of Glassport, formerly of Crosby, TX, passed away on Monday, March 1st, 2021 at the Baptist Homes Society in Pittsburgh. She was born in Port Neches, Texas on July 7th, 1954 to the late Luke and Hazel Lightfoot. Peggy was the loving wife of 46 years to Rodney D. Stokes, of Glassport.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Stokes of Glassport, daughter, Paige (Kevin) Strasbaugh, of Churchill, brother, Roy Lightfoot, of Texas, sister, Betty Parmer, of Conroe, TX, as well as nieces and nephews.
She was a 1972 graduate of Nederland High School in Texas, and spent fifteen years working as a Nurse’s Aid for Home Instead, the Jewish Association on Aging and other nursing and care centers in the Pittsburgh area. Peggy enjoyed cooking, gardening, and being passenger on many motorcycle rides with her husband.

Betty (Babyak) Lukas, 88, of North Versailles Twp. died February 28, 2021. Betty was the wife of the late John A. Lukas. She was the loving mother of Barbara (Joseph) Gardonis, Richard (Karen) Lukas, Roberta Comunale and the late John F. Lukas. Adoring grandmother of Jennifer Ramey, Jimmy Comunale, Rich Lukas, Joseph Gardonis and Chris Lukas, great-grandmother of 3.
Betty was a dedicated member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport, where she was a member of the Ladies of Charity. She was a longtime volunteer at McKeesport Hospital and Forbes Hospital. She also volunteered for Ma’s Pantry and Meals on Wheels.
Betty had a strong personal faith in Jesus. She was a loving and devoted mom and grandma. She enjoyed baking, and always had fresh baked goods to share with the neighbor kids. Betty always had a kind word to say about everyone. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Catherine M. Kelly, 89, of North Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died Sunday February 28 2021. She was born May 10, 1931 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late James and Mae (Ewald) Cronk and was also preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Kelly Sr. and her adopted parents Milton and Ada Worbois.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Manor, where she was a former member of the church sewing club and the hospitality committee. She volunteered for the Westmoreland County Food Bank. Catherine enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, game shows, and was famous for her pumpkin pies.
She is survived by her children Charles E. (Wendy) Kelly Jr. of Westmoreland City, Rick (Suzanne) Kelly of McDonald, Gregg (Linda) Kelly of McKeesport, and Cathy (Jack) Heck of North Huntingdon; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother Leonard (Dorothy) Lovecchio of Auburn, CA; also nieces and nephews.

Douglas A. Armbrust, 78, of North Huntingdon, died Monday March 1, 2021, at home. He was born March 5, 1942 in Greensburg, a son of the late Harry B. and Lucinda (Mull) Armbrust. Doug was self-employed operating Armbrust Locksmith & Security.
He was a member of Linway Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, Shidle Lodge, No. 601, Free and Accepted Masons, Irwin, Syria Temple, Pittsburgh, where he was a member of the motor corps, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh. He was a life member of Hartford Heights Volunteer Fire Department, and a social member of Larimer and Fairmont-Hahntown Fireman’s Clubs.
He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Hilltopper VFW Post, East McKeesport, and the AMVETS.

Nick Clarence Coban, age 90, of McKeesport, died February 28, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born March 24, 1930, in Versailles Borough, he was the son of the late Anthony and Pauline (Selac) Coban and the husband of Eleanor (Holden) Coban for 66 beautiful years.
Nick retired from EQT as a crew leader and was a Korean War Army-Aircore Veteran. He was a member of the Eleventh Ward Club, Croatian Club in Versailles, and a former member of Sacred Heart Church. He was an avid tennis player and softball player all the way into his 80's. Nick was an outdoors-man and spent a lot of his time either in his garden growing tomatoes, hiking, fishing, or hunting.

Robert M. Morris, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021.
Bob is deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Agnes (Minnaji) Morris, daughter Susan M. Morris and husband William H. Maruca, two cherished grandchildren Julia and Jack Maruca of Wexford, and son Greg Morris of Irwin.
Bob was born July 21, 1930 in Youngwood to the late John William and Stella May (Fox) Morris. Bob served in Company B, 179th Infantry Regiment of the US Army during the Korean Conflict, most notably the summer of 1953 campaign. He was a tractor trailer driver and very proud of his safe driving record with B&P Motor Freight and United Parcel Service. Bob was active with Teamsters Local 30 and served on various committees.

Jeff worked at June Bug's in Sutersville. He loved music and playing his guitar. Barbara Anne Perichak Penman, 79 of Glassport formerly of White Oak, passed away on Friday February 26th, 2021 at her home. She was born in Braddock on July 31st, 1941 to the late Martin and Anne Ragan Perichak. Barbara was the loving wife of forty-eight years to the late James Penman.
She is survived by her children James T. Penman of Davidson N.C, William N. Penman of Tampa FL, Donald M. (Stacy) Penman of McKeesport, Robert M. (Yvonne) Penman of Glassport, and Lisa A. (Shawn) Pendzich of Pittsburgh, her sister Juanita McFeeters of Franklinville N.J. and niece Martie Campbell, and many grandchildren and some great grandchildren. Barbara graduated from Scott High School. She also attended CCAC and Duffs Business School.
Barbara worked early in her career as a dental assistant then transitioned into being a nurse’s aide for the elderly. She also enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, reading novels, gardening, and most of all cherishing her beloved stamp collection.

Yvonne A. (Beadling) Leggett, age 73, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at West Penn Hospital. She worked in the steel industry for the entirety of her working life, first at US Steel’s Irvin Works, and later for the United Steelworkers of America, from which she retired in 2008.
Although she was a hardworking and dedicated employee, she really thrived in retirement. When family members would occasionally complain about difficulties of their jobs, she was quick to remind them that she had already put in her years! Although never a woman of great wealth, she was exceedingly generous with all that she had, including her time.
After retiring, she spent substantial time volunteering for the New Life Options organization, counseling — and befriending — young, scared, and mostly single new mothers. It brought her true joy to stand in as the mother that most of them never had and that all of them desperately needed.
Throughout her life, she was lightning quick to befriend just about everyone she came into contact with. Her kindness and overt friendliness were legendary. She made it a point to learn as much as possible from everyone regardless of who they were or how direct her connection was with them.
Rare was the occasion when she would meet a stranger on the bus without learning who they were, where they lived, and who their family members were prior to reaching her stop. Yvonne truly believed in the power of kindness and she lived that belief every day of her life. She had a deep understanding of the struggles of life that each of us face and that understanding guided her behavior. She didn’t need to consciously decide to be that way; it was natural. She truly personified empathy and kindness.

Ronald M. Sutton, age 92, of Floreffe, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Jefferson Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. He retired as a truck driver for Mon River Supply in West Elizabeth and was a former employee of Firth Sterling in McKeesport.
Born December 3, 1928 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Clarence and Helen (Frye) Sutton and husband of the late Angela M. (Fazio) Sutton.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet (Joseph) Bonacci of Elizabeth Twp.; son, John (Marty) Sutton of Butler; stepdaughter, Dana Biles of Elrama; grandchildren, Maria Bonacci, John David Sutton and Meagan Knapp; step-grandchildren, Ed Barrickman, Donna Bleil, Paula Rende, Darlene Jeffers and Daniel Biles; great-grandchildren including Brooklyn; brother, Howard Sutton of West Newton; also, nieces and nephews.
