Nicholas M. Hruska of Bellevue, Nebraska, formerly of Glassport, passed away on March 18, 2021. He was born December 6, 1943 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the late Michael Hruska and Margaret (Protz) Hruska. He attended St. Nicholas Catholic School in McKeesport and Graduated from Glassport High School in 1961. He attended McCook Junior College in McCook, Nebraska on a basketball scholarship and served in the Coast Guard. He worked for Allegheny County at Kane Hospital.
Nick was a devoted Steeler and Pirate fan. He had a first-rate sense of humor and was especially proud of being honored in the Glassport hall of fame for local sports. He is survived by his sister Geraldine (Calvin) Guelich of Painesville, Ohio and brother David Hruska of Bellevue, Nebraska. He is also survived by his nieces Karen (Dave) Praznovsky, Janice (Rich) Alvarez, Sherry (Steve) Tytko, Vallerie Hruska, and nephew Brent Hruska. He requested no services.

Charlotte (Suley) Lewis Ban, age 70, of White Oak, died on April 26, 2021, at home.
She was a retired nurse's aid, working in the assisted living field. Charlotte was a lifelong resident of Turtle Creek and graduated T.C.H.S. in 1968. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. She cared for so many in her life, and with a heart that was bigger than her, she provided love to all young, old, men, women, and furry friends. Charlotte also enjoyed gardening and tending to her animal children.

Christopher James “Rave” Millington, 33, of Pittsburgh, formerly of West Mifflin and New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in Pittsburgh following a tragic accident. He was born on October 16, 1987, in Pittsburgh to the surviving Scott P. Millington and Karin M. Cain. Christopher is survived by his parents Scott P. Millington of Glassport and Karin Cain of Brentwood. He also leaves behind his daughter Shayla R. Millington of Brentwood, who Christopher was incredibly proud of and he considered his greatest achievement, his sister Amandia (John) Millington of Munhall, nephew Johnny, many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, and his dogs, Sadie, Kitty, and Icey. Christopher was preceded in death by his brother Scotty Albert Millington. He was a graduate of the Lawrence County Vo-Tech, was a life member of the V.F.W, enjoyed shooting pool, riding his bike, going fishing, darts, playing Play Station, but most of all he loved and cared for all of his family and will forever be remembered as having a big heart overflowing with compassion. He took special care to take care of his mother who will forever dearly miss him, he was her support who was always there to help her when it was needed. Christopher loved to work and worked for himself as an independent contractor doing construction.

Paul Edward Runge, 78, of White Oak, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at home. He was born January 16, 1943 in Boston, PA and was the son of the son of the late Edward L. and Catherine (Faye) Runge. Paul worked as an electrician for the former US Steel in Christy Park and General Dynamic. He was a former member of the MOOSE club in Elwood City and enjoyed model trains. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and avid NASCAR fan, most notably Mark Martin in the number 6 car. He is survived by his wife, Carol L. (Knox) Runge, sons, Gregory Runge of Groton, CT and David Paul Runge of White Oak, daughters, Michele Renee Smedberg (Fiancé Chris Mirante) of Norwich, CT, and Carrie Lynn (Randy) Olsen of Waterford, CT, grandchildren, Chelsea, Jonathan and Ashley, great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Paisley, brother, Bernard Runge and sisters, Dorrine Miller and Faye Ann Pellasce, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Thomas N. Muse, Jr., 72, husband of Angelyn Muse, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.
Tom was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1948. He was the son of Thomas Muse Sr. and Norma Muse. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971.He became a Green Beret serving in the 6th Special Forces and Special Forces Airborne Division. He later served as Human Resources manager for Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania then later completed his 31 year career at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

He was an active and faithful member of St. Mary's Romanian Church in McKeesport. Frank was head guard and manager of Renzie pool, and very active in athletics. He played football for McKeesport High School, coached football and wrestling at Serra Catholic High School and coached wrestling at South Allegheny High School. He loved visiting friends and fishing at his cabin in Bedford County.

William “Bill” Tucci, 78, of Baldwin Health Center, formerly of East McKeesport, died April 23, 2021. He was born on April 23, 1943 and was a son of the late Leonard Tucci Sr. and Mary (Venuto) Tucci. Bill was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Michael, Albert, Leonard, John and James, and sisters, Louise Comunale and Edith Tucci. He is survived by brother, Richard Tucci of North Huntingdon and his sister Mary Woody of North Huntingdon.
Bill was a good-natured person with a sense of humor and was very well liked by all his friends. He was a huge fan of his many nieces and nephews and loved them very much. They were the highlight of his life.
Bill worked in construction along with his brothers and took much pride in his work. Christmas was his most favorite time of year. He drove to Maryland with a friend where they cut down Christmas trees and hauled them back to sell.
Later in life with failing health it became necessary for him to live in personal care homes. In 2020 he was a patient at Baldwin Health Center, Pittsburgh. He received excellent health care there until he was called home to be with God on his birthday, April 23, 2021. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Leonora M. “Lee” (Delle Donne) Trankocy of North Versailles, age 86, on Saturday, April 24, 2021, completed her earthly journey and moved on to her heavenly home.
Beloved wife of Richard J. Trankocy, Sr. for 63 years. Treasured mother of Richard J. (Susan) Trankocy, Jr. and Susan (Stephen) Kennedy of Braddock. Dear grandmother of Robert Kennedy, Randy (Tiffany) Jones, Shannon (Dustin) Dubensky and Caitlin Jones. Proud great-grandmother of Henry and Alexandra Jones; Ella Sue, Lucy and Lila Dubensky.
Leonora was raised in Rankin, graduated from Rankin High School in 1953 and was a willing volunteer for many Rankin reunions.
Leonora’s first job as a teenager was with Jaison’s, a women’s store in Braddock where she worked along with her sister, Carmella. After graduation, she became employed with Beneficial Finance where she worked until she became a mother. Leonora resumed her work with Beneficial when her children were grown and completed a 28-year career as an Administrative Assistant with the firm. While raising the children, Leonora was an active volunteer and leader with the P.T.A. and Boy Scouts.
Leonora has been a 7-decade member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Braddock. She was a member of the Byzantine Catholic Serra Club of Pittsburgh and the Braddock Elks Lodge #883 and the ‘Valley Seniors’ of her neighborhood in Green Valley.
Leonora was proud of her Italian heritage and was a member of the Primavera Lodge of the I.S.D.A. in Swissvale. She delighted in spending both Italian Day and Byzantine Catholic Day at Kennywood. When at home, Leonora enjoyed porch conversations, painting ceramics and watching figure skating on television.

Robert "Robbie" J. Nystrom, age 55 of Clairton, passed away at home on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born July 7, 1965 in McKeesport, he is the son of Robert L. Nystrom of Elizabeth Twp. and Lucille (Scalise) Herndon (Gary Moore) of Clairton. A member of the former St. Paulinas Church in Wilson, Robbie was a graduate of Thiel College with a bachelors degree in business administration and psychology and worked at Kaufmann's, Highmark, and most recently Schumann Center. In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan and athlete, playing baseball for his alma maters Serra Catholic and Thiel and later in the Daily News League and independent minor league ball in Niagara Falls. Later in life, he umpired and coached for both Clairton and Ringgold Schools and CCAC. He loved his Pittsburgh sports teams, always wearing #21 in honor of Roberto Clemente. Robbie was also a member of the CFU Lodge #248 of Clairton (their baseball and basketball tournaments were his favorite weekends of the year), the WAC in Wilson, and the Sons of Columbus, Santa Maria Council in Clairton. He joins his wife, the late Gina (Giordano) Nystrom, who passed away in 2002. Robbie is survived by his children Robbie C. (Kasey Seibert) Nystrom of Elizabeth, Nicole (Ruben Morales) Nystrom of Lawrence, NJ, and Angela (Taylor Thomas) Nystrom of West Mifflin; his grandchildren Marley and Delaney; sister Alexis (Robert "Bobbo") Trubiani of Donora; his niece and goddaughter Kennedy Trubiani; his nephew Robert Trubiani; his stepfather Kenneth Barna of Clairton; and his puppy Sage. Eugene C. Kusner, 90, of North Huntingdon, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday April 22, 2021. He was born March 9, 1931 to the late Michael and Julia Kusner of White Oak, Pa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara Kusner, daughter Linda Barsevich (Michael) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sister Vera Wrobleski (Edward) of Malvern, Pa.; and sister-in-law Jeanne O’Toole (Tom) of Glenside, Pa.; and Kathy Hula of Gainesville, Fl.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in eastern Pennsylvania and Florida.
Gene was a proud veteran who spent four years in the Air Force during the Korean War as an Airman First Class. Gene was a classic car enthusiast. His 1966 Mustang and 1974 Lincoln won countless first place prizes at area shows. And once appeared on the cover of Car and Driver magazine. He was an avid gardener who loved to grow tomatoes. Gene also enjoyed traveling the United States.
In 1972, he drove his family across the country in a motor home to visit all of the National Parks. Gene especially enjoyed the mule ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. His favorite vacation spot was Bar Harbor, Maine, where he and Barbara ferried across the Bay of Fundy to Nova Scotia.
He was employed for many years at Firth Sterling Steel Co. in McKeesport and Robertshaw in New Stanton. He was a member of Saint Agnes Church in North Huntingdon for more than 60 years. During that time, he served as an usher and also spent time with their garden club. Eugene was very loved and lived a good long life.

Louis M. “Spike” Kelley, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021 at his residence. Born on March 24, 1929, in Port Vue, PA, Louis was the 13th child of James W. Kelley and Mary Ann McCaffery-Kelley. He moved to McKeesport at the age of 10 and later received his diploma from McKeesport High School, class of 1948.
He proudly served in the US Navy from 1945 through 1949. Following his discharge, he worked for US Steel for 30 years. Upon retiring from US Steel, he worked for the International Union until his second retirement at the age of 74. At the time of his retirement, he held the position as the Assistant Director in District 10, covering the state of PA. He was an active member of Beulah Park Methodist Church, serving a number of groups including the Youth Group for many of years. He was also a long-time member of the White Oak Lions Club and W.O.A.A. He loved sports and served the community by coaching a number of teams including Basketball, Base Ball and Soft Ball teams.
Louis married his love, Nancy (Virag) Kelley on January 5, 1950 and they celebrated 53 years of marriage until her death on January 21, 2003 from pancreatic cancer. Following Nancy’s death, Louis was blessed with a friend and partner, Laura Rain, with whom he spent almost 15 years until her death in October of 2019.
Louis is survived and cherished by: his son, Timothy Kelley; his daughter-in-law, Karen; his granddaughter Krystal Lui and husband Augusto; his grandson Sean Kelley and his wife Lindsay; 4 great-grandsons; Aidan, Ryan, Quinn and Preston; as well as a number of extended family members and friends, including the Anderson family of Lancaster.

David was a McKeesport High School graduate and was a huge McKeesport Tigers fan. He loved working at Giant Eagle, and everyone who stopped in knew his smiling face. David was a life-long member of the Kephart United.
Methodist Church. David was a Pittsburgh sports fanatic and could tell you the stats for every Pittsburgh team. He was truly an inspiration to everyone he knew and had a gift for making lasting friendships.
He will be greatly missed by all.

Earl Layton May, 84, of Irwin, passed away April 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Johnstown, PA, on August 11, 1936, son of the late William and Beulah May. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, June (Wampler) May; children, Timothy May and his wife, Laurene, Wendy (May) Miller and her husband, Ron, Eric May and his wife, Lisa.
Also survived by sister, Darlene Felus, daughter-in-law, Penny May; and son-in-law, Ray Crowell; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Quentin May and Rebecca (May) Crowell; sister, LaRue Wilt.
Earl graduated from Gallitzen High School in 1954, achieved a perfect SAT score, then went off to Pitt to earn his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering in 1959. He was a certified Professional Engineer. After graduation, Earl worked for Lee C. Moore Corp., American St. Gabain Glass, then began a 35 year career with PPG in the Glass Research Division. He was a graduate of PPG's School of Glass Technology. At PPG, Earl was a constant source of new ideas that made a significant difference in advancing the technology of glass forming. He was awarded 14 design patents.
A faithful and devout Christian his whole life, Earl served his country and his church. He was a member of the US Army Reserves and very active member of Brush Creek Lutheran Church. He was a leader in council, Sunday school and bible study and a member of the choir. In addition to serving on many committees, he was chairman of the church’s 200th anniversary in 1973, where he and June designed and built a parade float. He was also treasurer for Thrivent Financial Services.
Earl liked to watch his grandkids play softball and hang out with them in his pool. He was always there for family events and anything they needed. Earl enjoyed hosting family cookouts, keeping his yard, James Bond movies, reading history and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and his evening phone calls to sister, Darlene. But most of all Earl loved spending time with his best friend, June, whether at home, cruising in his BMW, or out for one of their lunch or dinner dates.

Mary F. Pavlik, 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully in Corry, PA on Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was born in the Pittsburgh area to Eastern European immigrants, the late Andrew and Verna (Bence) Hritz. Mary and her late husband, John built their lives in North Huntingdon where they raised their family. Mary was a devoted wife and mother, teaching her children according to God’s word, instilling in them a love for God and family, the importance of a good education and the value of hard work.
Mary could be found volunteering at church, and served as Eucharistic Minister for St. Agnes church for many years. Mary was a member of several ladies’ groups at church, and also took communion to the ill and elderly in the community as well as to residents of local nursing homes. She is fondly remembered for her Eastern European cheregi pastries that she and her late husband John would make together and deliver in person to friends and family. Mary never shied away from helping family or friends, and was a wonderful, giving, caring and kind soul. Her presence will be forever missed by her daughter, two sons and daughter-in-law as well as by countless friends and family.

Mila E. Sacramento, age 10, of Irwin passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Mila was born October 10, 2010 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, beloved daughter of Neal and Dawn (Sommers) Sacramento of Irwin. Mila is also survived by paternal grandparents, Tony (Pap Pap) and Sharon (Meme) Sacramento of North Huntingdon. Maternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Nana) Sommers and partner, Richard (Pappy Richie) Tucci of Irwn.
Mila was a fourth grader at Norwin Hahntown Elementary and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin. Mila cherished weekly Target trips with her Nana, cooking lessons with Meme and teasing her Pap Pap on his daily visits. Mila had a special bond with grandparents on both sides.
She also treasured her time with cousin, Rocco Sacramento and BFF’s Riley Baker and Faith Pascus. Mila was an avid Minecraft and Robox gamer. She was a collector of many things like her Daddy, with her favorite being stuffed animals and LOL dolls. She loved arts and crafts, reading books, pop music, drive in movies and the zoo. Mila’s strong will and courage enabled her to battle through three different types of cancer and 15 major surgeries since the age of three. She was the true definition of a fighter.
Mila’s beautiful, brave, caring, funny, loving, smart and witty spirit touched everyone that got to know her. Mila taught us so much about life in her short time with us. Saying that she will be missed by all that loved her is an understatement especially by her mommy and best friend Dawn.

James Dee Giles, 83, of Mint Hill, N.C., died Monday, April 5, 2021, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Jim was born and raised in McKeesport, Pa., on August 29, 1937 and was the son of James Robert and Mary Virginia Giles. Jim was one of three children including his brother Robert and sister Judy. Jim married his wife Patti on September 22, 1978 in Willowick, OH. They later moved to Charlotte, N.C., in 1981.
Jim began his career with Celli-Flynn Architects, and was a key figure in the design of the original swimming pool with its below-ground viewing window at the McKeesport Senior High School, as well as the cafeteria design at Francis McClure School. He went on to work for Bruce Miller and Associates before moving to Ohio and then on to North Carolina.
There he worked on several notable projects for the state government and the University of North Carolina school system. Some of the notable projects included various work on: North Carolina State University, Appalachian State and UNC-Charlotte campuses. Throughout his career Jim was an active member in the A.S.H.R.A.E. chapter of NC. Jim retired from United Engineering Group, Inc./McKim & Creed in 2007. Jim continued to be a consultant in his retirement.

Howard graduated from Duquesne High School in 1967. He also graduated from CCAC, South where he focused on photography. He entered the US Army in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War where he received medals and awards. Howard started his career at US Steel Homestead Works in 1970. His career there ended 1985 after the mill closed. Howie enjoyed fishing with his friends and family.
He loved watching sports, especially football and basketball. He loved western and action movies, and watching the news. He loved all types of music, especially jazz. He coached Duquesne little league baseball and midget football. Howie transported many children in the Duquesne school district to and from school on the Blue Pap Pap Van. Howie was a jitney driver for many years, before opening his own station in 2011, he called it “HOWIE’S CAR SERVICE”. It remained open until 2020. Howie enjoyed spending time with the love of his life Rosie Mae, grandchildren/great grandchildren, family and friends. He loves to tease people and joke around. He enjoyed traveling with his wife.

William E. Duvall died Feb. 25, 2021 at the White Oak Manor in Charlotte, NC. Born May 13, 1930 with his twin brother Robert in Pitcairn, PA, Bill was the son of the late Joseph R. and Virginia (Schrenghost) Duvall. He graduated from Pitcairn High School in 1948, served in the US Army during the Korean War and graduated from Westminster College in 1958 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. Bill worked most of his career in the Treasury Dept of US Steel. He was a talented shortstop for US Army baseball teams in Europe and many semi-pro teams in Western PA. During his four years at Westminster College, Bill played in every inning of every game and in 1958 he co-captained Westminster to the PA State Championship. The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Pye Traynor offered Bill a contract to play for the Pirates minor league team in Tampa Bay, but Bill left professional baseball to pursue his family interests and professional career. In 2002, Bill and his brother Bob were inducted into the PA East Boros Sports Hall of Fame. Bill was an avid tennis player and golfer. After moving to Charlotte, NC, to be near his daughter and grandsons, he worked at the Ballantyne Resort golf course during many of his retirement years. Bill was married for 64 years to Gladys Thompson, who predeceased him in 2020. He is survived by his daughter Renee (Kenneth Jr.) Bramlett; grandsons James and Samuel Bramlett; brother Robert (Mary Catherine) Duvall; brother-in-law Clifford (Patti) Thompson; nephews Robert (Ann) Duvall, David (Lori) Duvall & Clifford (Tracy) Thompson and niece Jennifer (Jerry) Yoder. Richard "Dick" Keith Pealstrom, 93, passed away on Tuesday March 30, 2021. He was born in Holland, Michigan on October 11, 1927, but spent the majority of his childhood in Rock Island, Illinois where he graduated from Rock Island Senior High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Navy in September 1945. He graduated from two Navy radio communications schools and served as a communication technician in radio intelligence both on the island of Guam and at the Naval Intelligence Headquarters in Washington, DC, until his discharge in October, 1948.
After his service, he attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he received a BS degree in mathematics and worked as an Admission counselor at the University until his graduation. He then travelled to Wilmerding, PA, where he started working at the Westinghouse Air Brake Company (WABCO). It was here that he met his wife of 65 years, Lois “Audrey” Pealstrom, on a blind date. He retired from WABCO after 35 years as Manager, Advertising & Sales Promotion. He was well known for his creative ad campaign for painting the COBRA brake shoes red, and the Secret Order of the Red Cobra for his sales team.
While employed, he also served on the Board of Directors of the WABCO Federal Credit Union and was elected President of the Association of Railway Advertising Managers, an international organization. Upon retirement, he continued to stay active. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the George Westinghouse Museum Foundation and served in several offices for the twenty years of its existence.
He was also a founding elder of the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, where he was the Chairman of the Building Committee for their first edifice. In recent years, he was able to discuss his Navy work and became a member of the US Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association. Dick and Audrey shared a love of history by volunteering at the Westmoreland County Historical Society where they assisted in organizing and cataloging collections.
In his spare time, he was an avid golfer (shooting his age at age 88), a creative and talented wood-worker, an enthusiastic collector of eagle figurines, and a voracious reader with a love of learning. His family always looked forward to his unique homemade birthday cards and Christmas gifts.
