Virginia “Jeanie” Dorothy Loomis, 95, of Clairton, formerly of Glassport, passed away at Jefferson Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 29, 2018.  She was born September 4, 1922 in McKeesport to the late John and Mary Germek Pavol.  Virginia was the loving wife of the late Leland Russell Loomis for 39 years.  She is survived by her son, Donald R. Loomis and her dog Shadow.  Along with her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by brother, Robert Pavol.  She was a graduate of Glassport High School & Duffs Business School, was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Church, loved sports, sewing, bingo, ceramics, and was a member of Wilson Civic Association.  Visitation will take place from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 on Monday, April 2, 2018 at S.M. David Hugh Kushner, 68, of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Peters Township and Glassport, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.  He was born in Pittsburgh on August 8, 1949 to the late Michael Kushner and Dixie B. Ronk.  David was the loving husband of the late Barbara Haas Kushner who passed away in 2006.  He is survived by his daughters Amy Sue and Dana Lynn, sister, Peggy Ronk of Dawsonville, GA and nieces Liliann Moser and Suezette Dickey.  Arrangements have been entrusted to E. Antonio “Tony” J. Sparico, 83, of West Mifflin passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday March 14, 2018.  He was born in McKeesport May 5, 1934 to the late John B. and Marie Anna Rera Sparico.  Tony is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia A. Lister Sparico; son, Anthony (Trina) Sparico of Upper St. Clair; daughter, Jannine (Bert) Ackerman of West Homestead; grandchildren, Megan (Alex Gennari) Sparico, Tracy Johnson, Anthony (Amanda) Sparico, Natalie Sparico, Annalee Sparico; great-grandchild, Wyatt Antonio Johnson.  Along with his parents, Tony was preceded in death by daughter, Kristin Sparico; brother, Peter J. Sparico and sister Mary Antonella.  He resided in West Mifflin for most of his life, served in the US Army during the Korean War, was employed by US Steel National Tube Plant in McKeesport and Hechingers in West Mifflin, was a lifetime member & past president of West Mifflin #3 VFC, enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, his grandchildren, Carmella (his dog), was a member of VFW Post 914 in West Mifflin.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to VFW Post 914, 4901 Ball Avenue, West Mifflin,  PA  15122.  Visitation will take place Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm and Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 11 am – 1 pm at S. Mary Ann Scapellato, 86, of Lower Burrell, formerly of Clairton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Belair Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lower Burrell.  She was born June 10, 1931, in Clairton, to the late Andrew and Mary Faith Butvin.  Mary Ann was the loving wife of the late Samuel Scapellato.  She is survived by daughters, Rose Mary (Bob) Mozes of Mars, Donna McGivern of Lower Burrell, Denise Salaske (George) of Elizabeth; son, Daniel (Karen) Scapellato of Jefferson; sisters, Theresa (Gary) Thayer of Finleyville, Helen Huss of Lakewood, Pauline (Elmer) Fournier of Elizabeth; brothers, Andy (Sandy) Butvin of Portage, Joe Butvin of Donegal; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and spouse, Mary Ann was preceded in death by daughters, Anna Marie Ellis and Anita Shiner.  Mary Ann resided in Clairton for 81 years, loved crocheting, gardening, artistic painting, word puzzles, sewing and dogs.  Visitation will take place Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5 – 8 pm at S. Mary Esther Kratzenberg, 77, of Dravosburg, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Lawson’s personal care home in Jefferson Hills.  She was born February 17, 1941 in McKeesport to the late Joseph and Marion Koontz Chonko.  Mary was the loving wife of 51 years to the late Joseph A. “Bud” Kratzenberg who passed away in 2008. She is survived by daughters, Sandy Flanagan of West Mifflin, Wendy Curran of Dravosburg, Diane (Ed) Losteter of Jefferson Hills, Lauren (Scott) Seach of Glassport; grandchildren,  Nikki, Joe, Jessi, Sam, Megan, A. J., Joseph; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Noah, Gwen, Isaac, Grayson; sisters, Pat Bucy, Ona (Mark) Horgas, Ginny (Ralph) Lemak, Ruth (Lud) Pisko; brother James “Jimbo” (Marie) Chonko.  Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by siblings, Joellen Wigton, Timothy Chonko; sons-in-law, James Flanagan, and Mark Curran.  She was a lifelong Coal Valley resident, a member of St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, liked QVC, Hallmark Channel, cooking channels, and loved the beach.  Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S. Lois F. Sechrist 89, of Somerset and formerly Glassport, PA, died March 1, 2018 at Somerset Hospital.  Born January 20, 1929, in Glassport, she is the daughter of the late James W. and Grace (Oates) Forbes. Also preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Sechrist, and brother, Donald Forbes. She is survived by sons, Bruce David and Denis Craig Sechrist and a daughter, June L. (Sechrist) Weakland. Nephew James Forbes and niece Cheryl (Forbes) Lebada. Grandchildren: Bruce Edward Sechrist of Somerset, Laura Fortenberry  of New Jersey, Skip Weakland of New Jersey and Danielle Kline of Wyoming. Also 7 great grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. Lois was a graduate of Glassport High School and a member of the First Baptist Church, Glassport and attended the Roof Garden Christian Church, Somerset. She was formerly employed by G. C. Murphy Company and the Copperweld Company in Glassport. She was known for her ready smile, great generosity and her deep faith, showing kindness to everyone that she met. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home in Somerset and from 10 -1pm Monday, March 5, 2018 at E.C. (Marcy Foster) Barncord of Lehigh Acres, FL, Gregory (Suzy) Brletich of Coraopolis; daughter, Barbara Altamare of Webster; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Osiris and Griffin; loving felines, Gypsy, Smokey, & Missy.  Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by son, Brian Barncord.  He loved hunting, the outdoors, classic cars and animals.  Visitation will take place Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm and Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 10 – 11 am at I. Charles Allen “Red” Barrett, 76, of Glassport passed away at home on Wednesday February 21, 2018.  He was born in Pittsburgh, November 11, 1941 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Packer Barrett.  He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Agnes Rushe Barrett; sons, Chuck (Sheri) A. Barrett of Glassport, Tom (Gina) W. He was born in Pittsburgh on December 19, 1941 to the late William R. and Margaret E. Haser Kessler. He was born in Pittsburgh on February, 1st 1980 to James R. Maselli and the late Judith Beckovich Maselli. Erik is survived by his wife, Shawna Fant Maselli. He is also survived by his son, Ashton Maselli of Clairton, daughter, Celina M. Maselli of Clairton, father, James R. Maselli of West Elizabeth, and brothers; James M.(Angela) Maselli, of Ravenna, OH and Shaun J. Maselli of West Elizabeth. Erik was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Beckovich Maselli. Henry “Hank” Merle Knox, 69, of Clairton, formerly of Elliottsville,  PA, passed away at AHN Jefferson Hospital on Thursday, January 18, 2018.  He was born October 5, 1948 in Fayette County to the late George and Rosetta Knox.  Henry was a loving husband for 33 years to the late Yvonne Riggen Knox.  He is survived by daughters; Virginia (Brian) Hilty of Greensburg, Candace Knox of Clairton, Tammy (John) Hayden of McKeesport; brothers; Roger Knox of Uniontown, George “Rusty” (Dee) Knox of Connellsville, Richard Knox of Clairton; sisters Carolyn Pici of McKeesport, Vanessa (Bill) Frost of Uniontown, Lori (Dolly) Knox; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Along with his parents and wife, Henry was preceded in death by son, Henry Merle Knox; daughter, Nora Knox; brothers, Vernon Knox and Mark Knox.  Henry served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, enjoyed car shows, camping, hunting, and socializing with others.  He was a member of the AmVets in Uniontown and the VFW in Hopwood. Family and friends will be received Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at S. M. William John “Maddog” Mantz III, 70, of Clairton, formerly of Elrama, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.  He was born May 17, 1947 in Pittsburgh to the late William J. Jr. and Thelma Jester Mantz.   William is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sally Clark Mantz; son, Michael Mantz of Finleyville; adopted son, Jesse Ingram of Clairton; daughters, Amy Mantz of Clairton, Jillian (Anthony Vivirto) Mantz of Perryopolis, Melissa Cherok of Donora; grandchildren, Nico, Bella, Trevor, Shaunie, Emily, Natalia, Hunter, Abagael; brothers-in-law, Ronald Clark and Rodney McGlumphy; nephews, Thomas Turnell, William Payne; niece, Melody Whitehouse.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruthie Jones. William served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972, was the proud owner of a ’79 Harley Super Glide and ’79 Corvette. Lisa Marie Bitkowski Snyder, age 51, a lifetime resident of Clairton and Jefferson, passed away on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 at the Jefferson Medical Center A.G.H.N. She was born August 14, 1966 in McKeesport to the late Leonard Bitkowski and Nancy Yojanko Bitkowski. Lisa was the loving wife of 29 years to William H. Snyder. She is survived by her husband William of Clairton, mother Nancy Yojanko Bitkowski of Jefferson Hills, her children; Gabrielle Snyder, Toni Snyder, Thomas Snyder all of Clairton, and Matthew (Nicole) Snyder of Ambridge, grandchild Giavonna Snyder of Clairton, and sisters; Sherrie (Scott) Bash of Jefferson Hills and Pam (Jerry) Angotti of Jefferson Hills. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Bitkowsi and her brother Leonard Bitkowsi Jr. She was a member of the St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton.  Lisa enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker. She will be remembered as a person who deeply loved her family, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. A woman that was the life of the party, strong but with a kind heart, and a fiercely loyal “Momma Bear” is the legacy Lisa leaves behind.  Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4-8pm at S.M.
