David Michael Jerome, 63, of Stahlstown, formerly of Clairton & West Mifflin, passed away at home on Saturday November 4, 2017.  He was born August 28, 1954 to Virginia Roberts Simko.  David is survived by sons, Eric (Michelle) Jerome of Monongahela, Jeremy (Patty) Jerome of Belle Vernon; grandsons, Derrick, David, Jordan; brothers, Jay (Debbie) Jerome of Elizabeth, Rick Jerome of South Side; and sister, Robin Farnan of South Park.  He served in the United States Air Force, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating.  Family and friends will be received Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4 – 6 pm at S. Joan “Joanne” Steinkopf Sopko, 85, of Jefferson Hills passed away on Sunday October 15, 2017 at Baldwin Health Center.  She was born November 23, 1931 in McKeesport to the late Herman and Larue Nau Steinkopf. Joanne was the loving wife of the late Stephen M. Sopko who passed away in 2005. She is survived by sons, Stephen (Sandy) Sopko of Irwin, Michael (Laura) Sopko of Baldwin, Herman Sopko of Jefferson Hills; daughters, Bernice (Louis) Walsh of Clairton, Darlene Kelly of Speers, Suzie Krsul of Bethel Park, JoAnne (John) Makovich of Yukon, PA; grandchildren, Paulette, Joan, Tina, Corri, Bevelynn, Andrea, Mikey, Missy, Joey, Josh, Christina, Drew, Michael, Broc, Leita, Jesse, JD, Robbie, Scott; and 35 great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and spouse, Joanne was preceded in death by son, John; brothers, William and Carl Steinkopf; and sisters, Jean Reigh and June Miller.  She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, previously a member of Turner’s in McKeesport and VFW Auxiliary in Bethel Park.  Joanne enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening.  Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm at S. Gerald “Coke” John Cola Sr., 83, of Clairton, formerly of Glassport, passed away at home on Monday, September 18, 2017.  He was born September 15, 1934 in McKeesport to the late Pasquale and Irma Stipa Cola.  Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elsie Germek Cola; sons, Gerald J. (Shari) Cola Jr. of Clairton, Gregory Cola of McKeesport; sister, Patricia (Angelo) Donofrio of Glassport; step-grandchildren, Jessica, Malarie, and Richard “R.J.”; step-great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ian, Serenity, Alyssa, Colton, and Devlin. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, a veteran of the US Army, a retiree of Peoples Natural Gas Company’s Monongahela Office, enjoyed sports, high school football, gardening, collecting coins, spending time with his family and was an animal lover.  Arrangements have been entrusted to S. Jennifer Nichole Benjock Sprowls, known lovingly as “Bunny” to some, 41, of Dravosburg, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2017.  She was born June 7, 1976 in Pittsburgh to Paul J. Benjock and Deeni Chismar Tarre. Along with her parents, Jennifer is survived by step-mother, Sandra Benjock; brothers, Ryan A., Paul V., and Matthew J. Benjock all of West Mifflin; sister Emily E. Benjock also of West Mifflin; step-sisters, Debora (Michael) Gianelli of CA, and Patricia Tarre of Elizabeth City, NC; step brothers, Philip Tarre of Hope Mills, NC and Patrick (Amanda) Tarre of Fayetteville, NC, and her beloved dogs and cats. She was a 1994 graduate of McKeesport Area High School, a 1996 graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, co-owner of Lou Louz Beauty Salon in Wilmerding, a beauty consultant for nursing homes and elderly shut-ins, a volunteer at Carnegie Library in Homestead, and a lover of animals.  Family and friends will be received on Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at I. John Donald Yarris, 52, of West Elizabeth, formerly of Floreffe, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born March 30, 1965 in Pittsburgh to Harold “Bud” and Connie Yarris.  Along with his parents, he is survived, and will be greatly missed by, his longtime partner, Jamie Robertson; daughters, Brandi (Ruben) Good of McKeesport, Sheri Yarris of McKeesport, Sydney Yarris of Clairton; stepson, Seth Robertson of West Elizabeth; grandchildren, Shania Yarris, Nijia Good, Nakiya Lee, Crisanna Lee; great-grandchild, Raelyn Starek. sisters, Valarie Yarris Becker of Jefferson Hills, Susan Yarris Reid of Ft. Lauderdale FL.  John was preceded in death by daughter, Jessica Yarris.  John was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and was previously a cook at Olive Garden in Pleasant Hills. He enjoyed gaming, fishing, and working on cars.  John was enthusiastically involved in Boy Scout Troup 1843 of Pleasant Hills and was an integral part of all activities.  He was an essential part of his stepson, Seth, reaching the highest level of scouting, Eagle Scout. Leroy Earnest Neyman, 85, of Dravosburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Riverside Nursing Center in McKeesport.  He was born May 13, 1932 in New Castle to the late Floyd and Ann Lenhart Neyman.  Leroy is survived by his loving wife Carol F. Dalton Neyman; sons, Wayne (Twila) Neyman of Dravosburg, Leroy (Claudette) Neyman of Elizabeth; daughters, Carolee (James) Burns of White Oak, Lori (Jace) Younge of Elizabeth; son-in-law, Dale McCall of McKeesport; brothers, Raymond (Dana) Neyman of Lancaster, Floyd Neyman of Greenwod, SC; sisters, Clarissa Ord and Lana (Ron) Urbansky both of Dravosburg; eleven grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen McCall, sister Delores McKelvey and brother Bobby Neyman.  Leroy was a 1951 graduate of McKeesport High School, served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of American Legion Post 380 in Dravosburg, served as President of the Dravosburg Boys Club for 30 years, was a shortstop for the New York Giants, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his cabin in the mountains.  Family and friends will be received on Friday August 4, 2017 from 2 – 8:30 pm at I. Katherine “Katie” Richel, 92, of Glassport, formerly of Port Vue & Liberty Boro, passed away at Southwestern Nursing Home in West Mifflin on Thursday July 27, 2017. She was born April 29, 1924 in McKeesport to the late Paul and Bertha Tkatch.  Katherine was the loving wife, for 52 years, of James Harry Richel who passed away in 1983.  She is survived by daughter, Marjorie Deliman of Glassport; son, James Richel of Glassport; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Katherine was preceded in death by sisters, Ann & Elizabeth and brothers, Paul & Mike. Irene “Rene” Austin, 91, longtime resident of Glassport, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2017 at Overlook Green Personal Care Home in Whitehall. She was born April 22, 1926 in Rankin to the late Michael and Annie Siri Yobak.  Irene was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles W. Austin who passed away in 2007.  She is survived by children, Deborah (Rege) Ford of North Strabane, Chuck (Tracey) Austin of North Huntingdon, Cheryl Austin of Highland Park, and Jim (Laurie) Austin of Elizabeth. Irene was the proud grandmother to grandsons, Patrick (Kara) Ford, Matthew Ford, Joel Austin, Jordan Austin, Seth Austin and Grant Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy (Dan) Justice of Ft. Washington, MD and dog Sari.  Along with her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Yobak, Ann Veronick; and brother Andrew Yobak.  She was an avid reader, loved spending time with her late husband at Playland Campgrounds in Cochranton, enjoyed fishing for walleye and bass at Tamarack Lake, and enjoyed playing cards.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Judes Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN   38105 or Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N Linden St, Duquesne, PA 15110. Walter Edward “Lurge” Zamko, 91, of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017.  He was born May 18, 1926, in Duquesne, to the late Michael and Tillie Kaniecki Zamko.  Walter was a loving husband of 51 years to the late Gertrude “Do Do” Janci Zamko who passed away in 2003.  He is survived by daughters, Pam Zamko Kaska of West Newton, Joy Zamko (Howard) Galliford of Millerville, MD; grandchildren, Drew & Amber Kaska, and Lindzey, Amanda & Patrick Galliford; great-grandchild,  Viera Joy Galliford.  Along with his parents and wife, Walter was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Zamko; sisters, Julia Kish, Mary Zamko, Frances Zamko; and brother, Anthony Zamko.  He served in the US Army in WWII in Germany, worked as a Millwright for US Steel Irvin Works in West Mifflin for over 40 years, enjoyed traveling, being a handyman, boating and spending time with his grandchildren.  Family and friends will be received from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at S. Arnold "Spider" Rondinelli

Arnold Armond “Spider” Rondinelli, 82, a well-known jazz musician from Clairton, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 10, 2017.  He was born February 5, 1935 in Clairton to the late Anthony and Angeline Macioce Rondinelli.  Along with his loving wife of 41 years, Georgina, he is survived by son, Michael (Paula) Rondinelli of Louisville, KY; grandsons Jared and Avery; brother, Naz (Elsie) Rondinelli of San Diego, CA.  Along with his parents, Spider was preceded in death by sister Marlene Decima.  After graduating from high school in 1953, he worked his first job as a musician at the Point Vue Hotel in Brentwood. In 1960, Spider was drafted and spent two years in the service with the 113th Army Band, based at Fort Knox, Ky.  After his discharge in 1962, he returned to Pittsburgh but was itching to hit the road and went to Chicago.  Spider returned to Pittsburgh for a bit and moved on to St. Thomas for more than 4 years but, as usual, returned to Pittsburgh to do what he loved. "Jazz is going to save the world," he said. "Jazz music has given me security. I have done nothing else in my life. My father wanted me to be a tap dancer, but I preferred to play the music that made me want to dance."  Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at S. M. Martha Ann Baker, 80, formerly a resident of Dravosburg for 35 years, passed away at Miller Farm Place in Dayton OH, on Thursday, July 6, 2017.  She was born August 27, 1936 in McKeesport to the late Richard T. and Charlotte E. Riley Jones.  Martha was the loving wife of the late James Ralph Baker who passed away in 2014.  She is survived by son, James R. (Robin Soriano) Baker of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Christopher Helman) Spencer of Springfield, OH, Joshua (Alli) Baker of Huber Heights, OH, Jessica (Joseph) Katchur of Liberty Boro, Houston Baker of Glassport; great-grandchildren, Nickole, Brandon, & Cody Burkey, Luke Spencer, Joshua Baker, Mika & Adriana Katchur, Ronan Baker; sister Sandra (Edward) Tarle of San Juan Capistrano, CA; brother Jack (Tina) Jones of Dravosburg.
