Robert W. Guzewicz, 76, of Duquesne, died peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018, in Southwestern Medical Center. Born in McKeesport, July 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward and Olga (Gonchar) Guzewicz. Mr. Guzewicz was a member of Christ, Light of the World Church, Duquesne, The Knights of Columbus Council # 4210, The AARP Bowling League Chapter 3172, and an avid bowler. He was a retired Craneman of the former US Steel Corp. Duquesne Works and proudly served his country in the US Army. Beloved husband of Donna (Lamanna) Guzewicz; he is also survived by his loving daughter, Diane and her husband, Danny Sims of Cincinnati, OH; and a brother, George and his wife, Jenny Guzewicz of Palm City, FL.

Edward Locke “Ted” Kemp, Jr. died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he will be deeply missed. Until his last month, he lived a dynamic, gregarious and driven life.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 17, 1932, he was the son of Edward Locke “Ted” and Carol Virginia (Hemington) Kemp. Ted was first raised in Tenth Ward of McKeesport, PA, then West Mifflin. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1950. Afterward, he attended Bethany College where he was a member of the fraternity, Beta Theta Pi. There, he met his beloved wife and life-long partner, Barbara.
In 1970, Ted was Cofounder and President of Elk Air Conditioning, Inc. Ted was an entrepreneur who always enjoyed talking and telling stories with many people in construction and related businesses while working to deliver quality products and services. He served a term as president of the Pittsburgh chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. He also served on the Boards of McKeesport- Versailles Cemetery and White Oak Borough Water Authority. Ted’s many memberships included McKeesport Jaycees, McKeesport Rotary and First Methodist Church of McKeesport.
Ted loved to travel and seek adventures, he also was active and dynamic in many sports and hobbies. He was an avid sailor, biker, and croquet player. Deep Creek Lake Yacht Club was a center of his life where he had numerous friends and served a term as Commodore. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Sarasota, FL. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Acker), children Ralph (Donna Hansen) of Pittsburgh, PA, Ed Kemp (Alice) of North Huntingdon, PA, and Margaret “Maggie” Kemp (Bernie Rosen) of Lempster, NH; grandchildren Ryan (Molly), Hannah, Merinda, Jonathan, Phillip Rosen, Erin Rosen, Tara, Kasey; great-grandchildren Tailynn and Raylee, brother Peter Kemp, sister Carol Nill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise Mabel Sherer, age 95, died peacefully at the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, PA on June 18, 2018. She is the daughter of Olof and Annie (Anderson) Sundin. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Sherer. Surviving children are William Vincent Sherer, Carol Ann de la Mora, and Timothy Olof Sherer. Louise was a loving mother, energetic and hardworking. She exemplified the best traits of the “Greatest Generation.” She worked as a maid, a waitress, a tin flipper in a Pittsburgh area mill during World War II, part owner of a furniture making company in Oregon, part owner of a oil distribution company in Bandon, Oregon, part owner of Sherer’s Dairy Store in Mount Vernon, PA, book keeper for various companies including Tygart Steel in McKeesport, PA, and a realtor. Louise worked into her late 70s. She loved to travel, making numerous trips to European destinations and living in Guadalajara Mexico with her daughter for a year. Jeanne was a world traveler, was a renowned instructor in Scottish Highland Country Dancing, and loved all things Scottish. She is survived by cousins Linda Eminson and her husband Thomas and their daughter Dawn Svor all of Round Rock, TX, Agnus Oskin of North Huntington, Alvin Oskin of Jeanette, Diana Scott of White Oak, James Orr of Murrysville and other cousins in Ohio, Florida, Washington State and Pennsylvania. A committal service for Jeanne will be held on June 9h at 11:00 AM at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery.

Doris “Dee Dee” Hamilton, age 63 of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 11, 1954, one of six children of Donald H. and Mary Lou (Ray) Hamilton. Dee Dee was an active member of the Duquesne Family Support Center and an avid volunteer and supporter of Duquesne youth athletics.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her 10 children, Daniel Hamilton, Glen Hamilton, Olive (Scott Hatten) Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, Derrick Hamilton, Amanda Davis, Crystal Smith, Meredith Smith, Victoria Smith and Donnie Smith; 30 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 5 siblings, Patricia Leatherwood, Donald A. Nathan K. Stonecipher
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully this morning at his son’s home in Irwin, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 62 years, Ellis Stonecipher. He was a loving father to his daughter Martha Stonecipher Gold and son-in-law Andrew Gold, and his son, Robert Russell Stonecipher and daughter-in-law Sherri DeMaria Stonecipher. He had four grandchildren: Lauren Ludovicy, Lindsay Penn, Nathan Stonecipher, Rachel Stonecipher, and one great-granddaughter, Judee Corvina. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Hightower, his half-brother, Steve Wilson, and countless other dear relatives and caring friends.
Nathan was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee on August 20, 1935. He was a popular athlete at Oliver Springs High School and was very active in the Oliver Springs Historical Society. In addition to his home in Tennessee, Nathan also lived for many years in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas, Nevada. Nathan will be laid to rest in the Oliver Springs Cemetery alongside his mother and father.

Mrs. Rosalie Duncan, 86, departed this life, May 26, 2018 at McKeesport Hospital. She was born May 24, 1932 in Sharpsburg, PA to parents; Mr. Eugene Fletcher Wright & Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Williams. Mrs. Duncan was foster parent to more than 30 children in McKeesport, PA.
The Louise Day Care was established & became a care center in McKeesport for many years in her home. She (Rosalie) was a well-respected woman of God who was a lifelong church member; who during illness joined Payne Chapel AME Church in Duquesne, PA under the Pastorate of The Rev. Dr. Helen M. Burton (Senior Pastor at the time).
Her favorite scripture: Psalm 23 & favorite songs were “Fragile Heart” by Yolonda Adams, and the well-known “Walk Around Heaven All Day”.
Mrs. Duncan was adorned with a beautiful smile; Her signature personality, and was never seen without it.
Preceded in death by her spouse, the well-known, late, Joseph Duncan, Jr. of McKeesport; and sons, Alexander Calvin Jordan of McKeesport, Robert Riley of Maine and Melvin Duncan of McKeesport.; She leaves to cherish her memories: A brother-Julius Wright, Sr. of Duquesne, A daughter- Jozette E. (Kent) Gates of McKeesport, stepdaughter- Martha L. Duncan of Pittsburgh, son- Joseph (Danna) Duncan, III of Pittsburgh, son- Darnell D.F. of Myrtle Beach, son Tyler T. of McKeesport, daughter- Darla R. She was born in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (nee Savidge) Showers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Baker; Uncles George Savidge and Dr. S. Luther Savidge; Aunt H. Blanche Savidge; also, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
