Howard Ronald "Ron" Pry, Sr.,  84, of West Mifflin, formerly of McKeesport, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 30, 1939 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Howard A. and Geraldine (Bryce) Pry. He was the husband of the late Janet Leah (Harrington) Pry who passed away October 7, 2023. Ron was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport. An Electrician by trade, he was a retired Millwright and had worked for WHEMCO, Georgia Pacific, US Steel National Tube Works, and Duquesne Light. After retirement he drove a Special Needs School Bus for the McKeesport School District. Ron sang with the Steel City Quartet for over 37 years. He was a US Navy Veteran.

Richard Lee Sauers, 84 of North Huntingdon died December 18, 2023 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born March 26, 1939 in North Versailles, a son of the late James Sauers and Myrtle Roberts. Prior to his retirement, Rich was employed as a steelworker for US Steel Iron Works. He enjoyed drag racing, hunting, playing cornhole and was an avid Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers James, Ted, Bud, and David, and sister Gail. He is survived by daughter Patricia Novak (Ted), grandchildren Dean Wisbar (Chrissy), Jessica Wisbar (Chris), Melissa Wisbar, great grandchildren Aubrihanna, Madelyn, Anthony, and Everly, and sister Alice Chop. Marian A. (Hood) Mullen, age 79, of McKeesport, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian. Marian was a very independent woman who loved to decorate for every holiday. She loved planting and growing her beautiful flowers and she always welcomed everyone into her home. Born June 22, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Elmer J. and Ruth (Farber) Hood. She is survived by her children, Wendy (Dan) Buza of Elizabeth, Michael Smith of Belle Vernon and Mark (Stacey) Smith of McKeesport; stepsons, Scott (Christine) Mullen and Shawn Mullen, both of McKeesport; grandchildren, Ashley, Jenna, Jacob, Abrielle, Jeremy, Arionna, Shane, James (Jimi), Danielle, Dana, Nick, Rayli, Haily, Marky and little Ashley; and eight great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mullen; son, Kenneth Smith Jr.; grandson, Tommy; siblings, Evelyn, Barbara, Shirley, Dennis and Elmer Jr. Marian’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life for all of her friends and family, which will be at the Port Vue Fire Hall on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 3-7 PM to share stories and memories. Elaine DeWitt, age 82, formerly of Finleyville, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at home. She was a former employee of Isaly's in Elrama and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow. Born April 5, 1941 in Horning, she was a daughter of the late George and Alma (Englert) Kennedy and wife of the late Donald D. DeWitt. She is survived by her sons, Donald M. (Amelia) DeWitt of Belle Vernon, Daniel M. (Eda) DeWitt of Perryopolis and Timothy S. DeWitt of McKeesport; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Jim) Tamasco of Canonsburg; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, George and Duane Kennedy; sister, Iris Burns; and aunt and uncle, John and Mary Englert. No visitation and services are planned. Private burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Prior to her retirement, was employed as a Registered Nurse at Wilkinsburg and Columbia Hospital, which later became Forbes, where she served as a patient care coordinator. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her grandchildren, was a member of Circleville Global Methodist Church and Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald. Paul Smith, 94, of Finleyville, passed away on Friday December 15th, 2023 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. He was born in Union Township on June 14th, 1929 to the late Victor and Margaret Shovskwich Smith. Paul was the loving husband of 69 years to the late Dolores Uphouse Smith. Paul is survived by a niece and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolores Smith, his siblings Martha, Emily, Louise, Margaret, Helen, William, and Emil. Paul and his wife were baptized together as Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1959, they served faithfully for 64 years. In those years Paul served as an Elder for decades. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Clairton Congregation. He also worked for Duquesne Light for 41 years. Paul served in the United States Army from September 1950 to May 1952. In his free time Paul liked to enjoy passing the time by building and flying remote controlled airplanes. He loved to spend time with all animals especially his goose friend “Goosey”. He was loved by many, young and old and he will be missed by all. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A memorial service will take place on Zoom on Saturday December 30th, 2023 at 2 P.M. officiated by Elder Mark Turner. A private internment will take place at Mingo Cemetery at a later date.
