Richard Peter Semanisin, age 80, of North Versailles, died on Monday, November 27, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on May 28, 1943, and is the son of the late Peter and Sarah Perich Semanisin. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and was part owner of the former J+R Cleeland Printing in South Side. Richard received his Master's Degree in Education from the University of Kentucky. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, swimming, and loved his rescued cats.

David F. Diebel, age 80, of North Huntingdon, died November 24, 2023, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born September 8, 1943, in Portland, OR, he was the son of the late Ele Oren and Matti Jean (Stapleton) Diebel and the loving companion of the late Barbara Jenkner. David was a proud Marine Corps Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a White Oak American Legion Post 701 member and active in Westmoreland County church dartball leagues. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast with Triumphs, Indians, and Harleys. David was also an avid sports fan rooting for the Pittsburgh teams professionally and Oregon and USC for college.

Carolyn J. Halas, 83, of McKeesport, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in McKeesport on June 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gabor and Ella Szegedy Orris, and wife of the late Frank Joseph Halas. She is survived by her daughter, Carriella Halas of McKeesport, brother, Frank (Kathy) Orris of Florida, sister, Gloria (Ed) Jordanhazy of New Castle, god-daughters Diane Weber and Emily (Jared) Sherman, also by nieces and nephews.

Robert J. Hill Sr., 81, of Manor, died Monday, November 20, 2023 at home. He was born May 5, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William K. and Elizabeth (Cullighon) Hill. Bob was a Navy veteran and a retired electrician for Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was a lifetime member of the Irwin Sportsman’s Association, loved to hunt, and was a shooting enthusiast. He also enjoyed fishing. He loved working outdoors and always kept his lawn immaculate. One leaf on the lawn was one too many. He enjoyed Thanksgiving with his family and loved decorating for the Christmas Season. He was a member and past master of the McKeesport Lodge No. 641, F. & A.M. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Harry Hill, William Hill, Harriet McPherson, Virginia Elcock, and Gary L. Hill.

Barbara K. Harris, 74, of Port Charlotte, FL and Mount Vernon, PA, died Saturday, November 25, 2023 at UPMC East, Monroeville. Born in McKeesport on March 15, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Betty J. Hawthorne Conroy, wife of the late Richard W. Harris and was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Conroy. She is survived by her son, Robert Glus of Hershey, PA, her daughter, Jennifer Glus of Glassport, PA, and by grandchildren, Molly and Caroline.

L. Elaine (Vitori) DeChicchis, age 89, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at home. She retired as chief financial officer for J&E Building in Elizabeth and was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish (Saint Michael Church). Born in Clairton on October 10, 1934, she was the younger daughter of the late Jack and Ann (Rossi) Vitori and wife of the late Joseph E. DeChicchis. She is survived by a daughter, Diane (Tony Brown) DeChicchis of Peters Twp.; sons, Joseph DeChicchis of Elizabeth, David (Alesia) DeChicchis of Pittsburgh and John (Melissa) DeChicchis of Peters Twp.; grandchildren, David, Jacob and JR Brown, and Joseph, Louis, Jiovanni, Vincent, Sabrina and Nico DeChicchis; great-grandchildren, Leo and Elaine Brown; sister, Mary Lou (Gene) Paschal of Danville, CA; sister-in-law, Joanne Vitori of Pittsburgh; also, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Eugene Vitori. Visitation is private. Robert A. Bonczek, age 94, of McKeesport, died November 25, 2023, at home. Born December 19, 1928, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Janovitz) Bonczek and the husband of the late Doris Mae (Henry) Bonczek and the late Shirley (Marker) Bonczek.
Bob was the owner and operator of the former Bonczek Auto Service at the corner of Patterson Ave. and Walnut St. of McKeesport. He was also known as the undisputed "World's Finest Auto Mechanic!" Bob was a veteran of the US Army. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Screaming Eagle, 101st Airborne Division, serving during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. He was also a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish. He loved boating on the Monongahela River, traveling, hunting, and fishing. Bob also enjoyed dancing and skeet shooting at the Clairton Sportsmen's Club.
