Cynthia K. (Canova) Giles, age 64, of Christy Park, passed away on July 14, 2022, at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh. She was born September 5, 1957, in McKeesport, and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Virginia Canova, and wife of Michael R. Giles.
Cindy was a home maker who loved her family. She worked with local charities to help those in need.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Autumn Walsh, of Bethel Park, Joseph Belliconish, of White Oak, Kelli Lee, of Murrysville, and Michael Giles, of McKeesport; six grandchildren, Gabby, Jace, JJ, Miranda, Madelyne, and Montana; brothers, Anthony Canova, of Wexford and Samuel Canova.

A former mayor of Elizabeth Borough, he was a retired maintenance supervisor for Eastman Chemical Company in West Elizabeth and a member of Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge No. 526 in Elizabeth. Born October 10, 1946 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late John William and Beverly Wilma (Leach) Householder and husband of the late Joyce (Chapman) Householder. Robert Paul Bollinger, 84, of North Huntingdon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born June 23, 1938, a son of the late Earl and Mary (Maloney) Bollinger. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a salesman for Kmart and a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, VFW Post 781 and Norwin Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, going to the gym and spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Joe and Leo; sister, Joni. Kenneth J. Petruska, age 80, of West Mifflin, passed away on July 18, 2022 at Jefferson Hospital. Born in McKeesport on July 15, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Price) Petruska. He was retired from Courier Express and previously worked at J & L Steel and U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works. Ken also delivered flowers for Matta’s Florist and was an avid Steeler fan. He is the beloved husband of 55 years to Cheryl (Kmetz) Petruska. He was the brother of the late Joseph “Buddy” Petruska. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and his cat Cali. Dolores M. Brown, known as Dolly by those closest to her, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 24, 2022 at the age of 89. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. Dolly was born in Braddock on September 22, 1932 to parents Tekla and John Kogut. She graduated from St. Thomas High School in Braddock at the impressive age of 16. To say that Dolly was a busy person is putting it mildly. She volunteered her time organizing fund raising events for schools, as well as helping out with church fairs and Christian Mothers. Dolly also was a committee person for her district, campaigning for local and state representatives. She was one person not to let the grass grow under her feet. Dolly’s biggest and proudest accomplishment was serving on the school board for East Allegheny School District from December 1995 through December 2015. She enjoyed serving her community and always acted in the best interest of the students. Dolly leaves behind many people who loved her dearly.

Judy was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1956 and enjoyed reading and playing Bunco with her friends. Patricia G. Heer, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, July 14, 2022. She was born November 2, 1931 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Mildred (Weber) Siskos and step-daughter of John Siskos. She was a former manager for Suffolk Cable, North Braddock, and the first female manager of a cable company in Pennsylvania. She was formerly active with and a lifetime member of the Swiss American Society of Pittsburgh and enjoyed travelling with her husband to Switzerland to visit family several times and traveling on the Orient Express. Many years ago she taught PAL cheerleading. She enjoyed polka dancing, was an excellent cook and baker, and was a former democratic committee woman. She left high school as a teen to support her family and later completed her high school education at Norwin High School along with her son Henry Jr., graduating in 1969. The family would like to thank the Excela Health Hospice team for their loving care of Patricia.

Philomena E. “Phil” Howard, age 101, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Born in West Mifflin on January 8,1921, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Catherine (Andres) Bost. Philomena was a longtime housekeeper at St. Agnes Parish and during WW II she worked at U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works, where she met her husband. She was a member of St. Thomas Parish-St. Agnes Church, a distinguished graduate of St. Agnes Grade School, an avid Pirate fan, hosted many Christmas Eve celebrations and Sunday Steelers game parties. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was the wife of the late James Howard; mother of James F. (Carol) Howard of West Mifflin, Terrence D. (Jean) Howard of West Mifflin, Patricia H.
