Paul E. Pollock, age 84 of Versailles, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born May 3, 1937 in Black Lick, he was a son of the late Paul T. and Cecilia (Verostic) Pollock. A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick's Church in Christy Park and a retired supervisor at the Westinghouse Bettis Plant in West Mifflin, Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years Nancy A. (Riggs) Pollock; his sons Paul E. (Cathy) Pollock, Jr. of Versailles and Scott (Terri) Pollock of White Oak; his grandchildren Gabrielle (Michael) Abatti and Carly, Hunter, and Samantha Pollock; and his great-grandchildren Winnie, Clyde, and Kaiyi.

Rita B. York, age 91 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at home on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Born July 19, 1930 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Chasko) Belinski. A retired secretary for both US Steel Clairton Works and Thomas Jefferson High School, Rita was a member of both Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church and the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Clairton. In her spare time, she enjoyed trips to the casino, but loved to cook: especially for big family holidays. Besides her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Raymond G. York, who passed away March 4, 2021, and her siblings: Paul, Dorothy, and Marie Belinski. She is survived by her children Randall (Mary) York of Dormont, Monica King of Stow, OH, and Richard York of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren Jennifer York of Bangkok, Thailand, Maureen (J.W.) Johnson of Carnegie, Becca Tracy of Charlotte, NC, and Brett (Lauren Waugh) Tracy of Seattle, WA; her great-grandson Beck Johnson; and also nieces and nephews.

Joanne L. (Lynn) Eaton, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday November 14, 2021 at home. She was born May 27, 1931 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Albert L and Lillian (Locke) Lynn and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Rebecca Carr and great granddaughter Brenley Ostrom. She was a member of New Stanton Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dallas B. Eaton; her children Cara Lee (Paul) Spudy of Manor and Carl A. (Sandra) Ostrom of TN; her grandchildren Heather J. (Chris) Pendleton, P.J. (Bethany) Spudy, Jeremy (Kristi) Ostrom, and Jennifer (Matthew) Vescal; 14 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a sister Mary Jean (Keith) Bertoluzzi of Portersville; brother Alvin F. (Donna) Lynn of North Huntingdon; sisters in law Marlene Lynn and Jane Liebdzinski; also nieces and nephews.

Mary Kathryn Hart, age 84, formerly of the Spring Hill section of Pittsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Born in Charleston, WV, on November 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late C. Roy and Mildred (Kiger) Allison. She was a former school bus driver and worked in the IT Department and Budget Department at CCAC. She enjoyed her cats. She was the wife of the late John A. Bummer and the late Conrad J. “Dutch” Hart Jr. She is survived by children, John P. Bummer, Diane Lober and Judith Bummer; stepdaughter, Cheryl Jean Hart; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and extended family, Lawrence and Mary Ann Vash and Gary Bercik.

She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp., a director at the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center, and a volunteer at UPMC McKeesport and Intersection in McKeesport. Born May 18, 1941 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (O'Brien) McMahon and wife of the late Louis A. MacBeth. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Greg) Platte of Elizabeth, Tara (Jeff) Gluscic of Greenock and Erin (John) Barch of Versailles; grandchildren, Katie (Phil) Swartzlander, Beth (Andrew) Hoover, Rob (Xiara Long) Platte, Ellie (Jarrett Booz) Platte, Sean (Patty) McDermott, Samantha McDermott, Melanie (Charles) Murdock and Lisa Gluscic; great-grandchildren, Allison and Lainey Swartzlander, Grace, Anna and Jack Hoover, and Bailey McDermott; sister, Patsy McElhinny of Johnstown; also, nieces and nephews. Valerie M. (Jozwiak) Skovranko, 88, of Duquesne, fell asleep in the Lord, peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at home. Born on September 12, 1933, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the Late Joseph A. and Valeria (Zgorecki) Jozwiak. Mrs. Skovranko was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and a graduate of the former Braddock General Hospital School of Nursing. Beloved wife of the Late William S. Skovranko, she is survived by her loving children Debora A. (Dr. James) Ragan, William S. Skovranko, Jr., Joseph A. (Lori), Craig M. (Lori) and Christine M. Skovranko; eight grandchildren, Tera Ragan, Mara Ragan, Jameson Ragan, Ryan Skovranko, Brianna Battles, Brandon Battles, Kaitlyn Doherty and Mackenzie Doherty. A Sister-in-Law Mary (Late Edward) Skovranko and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by a brother Leonard (Late Pat) Jozwiak.

James Bernard Burke, 72, of Rockwood, formerly of McKeesport, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at home comfortably, surrounded by family and his dogs. He was born April 19, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Nol) Burke. He was a member of the former St. Mary's German Catholic Church in McKeesport. Jim worked as a draftsman and would later go on to retire as a postal carrier for The United States Postal Service. Jim was a quiet man who never passed up a good meal or a Goodwill. He was a collector of "treasures". He had a special fondness for animals especially chocolate labs and golden retrievers. Animals on his mail route loved him.

James D. McCombs, 55 of Boston, Pa, died Nov. 16, 2021. He is the son of Judith (the late Robert) Spell and the late James R. McCombs. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister Hilary Spell; uncle Bill (Debbie) Spell; aunt Edie (the late Jack) Spell; cousin Jack III (Karen) Spell, and many other cousins; childhood friend Tim Cohlhepp and his neighbors Russ and Noah. He is preceded in death by grandparents Anne Spell; Clyde and Genevieve Riemenschneider and Charles and Adaline Mccombs and uncles Clyde "Shorty" (Audrey) and Raymond Riemenschneider. Jim’s proudest moment was achieving a degree from Point Park and his beloved dog “Spike”. A special thank you to the "Kane family and staff" for the love and support. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Fri. from 3 to 8. A funeral service will be held Sat. at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Duquesne. Interment following Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
