Dr. Harry K. Gillespie, retired pediatrician, age 94 of Irwin, passed away peacefully on Monday December 9, 2019. Loving father of seven children, Mary Ellen (Joseph) Ferragonio, James (Ana) Gillespie, David (Rose Mary) Gillespie, Charlotte (Charles) Fisher, Sarah (Eugene) Pile, Elizabeth (David) Haushalter, and Douglas (Heidi) Gillespie.
Caring grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Troy and cousin Lucy (Joe) Russell. In addition to his wife Eleanor, Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Loretta, and siblings Richard, Philip Jr., and Susan Mormon.
A graduate of Central Catholic High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Gillespie was a longtime practicing pediatrician in Irwin and White Oak as well as at Jeannette and McKeesport hospitals, touching the lives of many patients and families over the length of his career.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin, where he cantered mass and served as a member of the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #1480 Greensburg. Dr. Gillespie was ahead of his time when it came to enjoying the great outdoors, recycling, and doing his part in taking care of Mother Earth. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his steadfast faith, his gentle demeanor, maintaining an active lifestyle, and his ever-present sense of humor.

Cecelia A. (Valco) Schorr age 95, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on December 10, 2019. Daughter of the late Michael & Mary E. (Dobrancin) Valco, she was a retired Department of Central Data Supervisor and, following that, worked in retail sales. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, a member of the former Christian Mothers, Past President of the GFWC Women’s Club of Duquesne, and Past President of the AARP-former Duquesne Chapter #1456. She was the wife of the late Paul G. Schorr. She is survived by her step-daughter Mary Ann (James) St. Clair of East Lake, Ohio; her niece Susan (Boyd) Anastas of West Mifflin; cousin Rona Fearon of Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Andrew Valco & Joseph Valco and nephews Thomas (Joanne survives) Valco & Gene (late Kathy) Valco. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 12-6 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300. Blessing service will be held at the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 16 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Duquesne at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. John McKenna, her great nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, Cecelia requested contributions for masses.

Christine M. Brown age 68, of Clairton, passed away on December 11, 2019 at Arden Courts in Jefferson Hills. Born on February 18, 1951, she was the daughter of the late John I. Brown and Dolores (Kogut) Brown. She was a retired school teacher at St. Edward the Confessor School in Dana Point, California. Besides her mother, she is survived by her brothers John (Helene) Brown of Jefferson Hills and Kevin (Josie) Brown of Lancaster and sister, Beth (Jack) Savulak of Harrison City and nieces and nephews. M. Shirley Pikula, age 87, of McKeesport, died December 9, 2019, at Riverside Care Center. Born June 18, 1932, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ella (Jacobs) Zoltak and the wife of the late Joseph G. Pikula.
As a young woman, Shirley was one of the top models in the Pittsburgh area. She went on to teaching "Charm" classes to young women in the old Sears building, and retired from the J.C. Penney Company. Her biggest love was setting a table that was unmatched and providing a meal and a prayer that people who experienced it still speak of. She was a member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church.

Theodore J. "Ted" Squires, 86, of McKeesport, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 19, 1932 in McKeesport, a son of the late John and Clara (Jakoski) Squires. Prior to his retirement, Ted was a rigger for US Steel National Tube Works and a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War where he was proud to cook and serve the troops. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and St. Agnes Parish where he sang in the choir for 49 years. He enjoyed music all of his life playing the guitar and organ. Over the years, Ted enjoyed bowling, golfing, baseball, polka dancing and vacationing in Florida. He was most proud of his daughters and all of their musical talents. He adored his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. He was the most loving and friendly gentleman and was noted for having the the most beautiful blue eyes that everyone noticed and commented on. Ted was a devout Catholic who faithfully prayed the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Robert "Lefty" Squires. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Loretta (Kuznar) Squires; daughters, Karen Kustra and her husband, Ray, Sharon "Sherri" Estrada and her husband, Mike, Lorraine "Lori" Kudla and her husband, Mark, Dona Alverson and her husband, Lee; and 5 grandchildren, Tom, Stephen, Amanda, Rachel and Amy; and great-granddaughter, Hazel. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Gerald J. “Jerry” Robinson, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Jerry, also known as Chico, also known as Buddy, was born on October 11, 1950 to the late George and Violet (Donati) Robinson of Pitcairn. Jerry was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He spent his career in the construction field as one of the finest plasterers in the area and was a member of the OPCMIA, Local 31. His work can be admired all around Pittsburgh, including Heinz Hall and Kennywood.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Versailles. Jerry was infamous for many things. He loved being outdoors on his quad, fishing, hunting, and camping. He was known for his secret recipe grilled chicken and making homemade wine, prosciutto, sauerkraut and sausage. In his recent years, Jerry spent his time babysitting his grandchildren, whom he spoiled with whatever they wanted. They remember him for his love cowboy shows on TV, Ovaltine, and buying them happy meals.
