She is survived by sons; Jack Donnelly of McKeesport; Richard Donnelly of White Oak; daughter, Marge (Chuck) Heidenfelder of McKeesport; sister, Shirley Valkanas of Flinton, PA; and grandchildren, Chuck and Lori Heidenfelder. Demos of Long Island, NY; Michael (Dana) Demos of Palm Beach, FL; Antonia (Justin) Mamas of St. Augustine, FL; Michael (Ashley) Mamas of St. Augustine, FL; Alexander Mamas of Miami, FL; great-grandchildren, Alexander Andrew Demos, Ariyanna Demos, Elise Alexandra Demos, Michael Bradon Demos, Anthony James Mamas, Michael Mamas, Noah Mamas, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews both in the U.S. and Greece.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael D. Mamas; siblings, Ismene Amartolou, Maria Kosta, Chrysoula Vrouze, and Niko Amartolou
She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak, St. Markella Ladies Philoptochos Society, and the Chian Society. She was active in her church life, promoter and advocate of her heritage, culture and faith, Unrivalled cook, baker, and hostess. She is one of the last of the greatest generation and will be missed dearly.

Joan K. Steele, age 68, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Jacksonville, FL died March 30, 2017, at St. Margaret UPMC. Born September 13, 1948, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Nell (Popichak) Smolak of the Carnegie area and the beloved wife of Donald Steele, for over 45 years.
Joan was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes, dancing, bowling and baking. She loved dogs and always had a pet dog in her life. One of the greatest highlights of her life was a trip to Israel with her husband Don.
In addition to her husband Don, Joan is survived by a brother, John (Georgette) Smolak, Jr., of Danville, PA, formerly of Carnegie; nephew, John (Christy) Smolak, III of Bethel Park; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Eugene Smolak.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 11 a.m. until the time of blessing service at 12:15 p.m., with Fr. Matthew Elanjileth officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Irene C. Miller, age 93, of McKeesport passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Born January 9, 1924 in Ulanow Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Jozefa Chmielowski and the wife of the late Lloyd W. Miller, Jr. Irene was taken from her home in 1943 to work in a forced labor camp in Germany. In 1945 she met her husband during the war. In 1947 she came to the United States to start a family and a career. She worked at the McKeesport Hospital for 45 years where she retired as a nurses aid. Irene enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, Pittsburgh sports and spending time with her family. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and St. Mary Czestochowa bowling league. Irene is survived by her children, Barbara Adams of Sigel, Lori (Robert) Davis of North Huntingdon, Lloyd W. Miller III of Munhall and William J. Miller of McKeesport; grandchildren, Josette (John) Kippenberger, Justin (Elizabeth) Davis and Michael (Lauren) Davis; great-grandchildren, Elisha, Desiree, Michael, Logan, Jaxson and Lennon; great-great grandchildren, Sophia, Sterling and Skylar; sisters, Helen and Mary. Jean A. Nowicki, age 92 of McKeesport, entered into Heaven’s Gates on March 29, 2017 at Paramount Senior Living in McMurray. Born March 15, 1925 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Sally (Rymar) Kustra and wife of the late Edmund R. Nowicki. Our mother always looked for the good in everyone and offered a warm greeting to everyone she met. She had a gracious, selfless spirit and indomitable strength despite all the challenges of her life, because, “someone always has it worse”. She was our heart and soul. She was the Past President of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers & Ladies Guild, Past President of the Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister and former member of the Pastoral Council. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #221 and the McKeesport PNA #352. She is survived by her son, Dr. Edmund J. (Christi) Nowicki; daughter, Patricia J. Dobranski; grandchildren, Aaron Stewart, Lacey Stewart, Kellie (Josh) Stahlman, Logan Stewart, Edmund C. Nowicki, Haley Nowicki, Roberto Nowicki, Jack Nowicki, Amanda (David) Stone, Melissa (Daniel) Fletcher, and Ethan Dobranski; great-grandchildren, Caleb Stahlman, Rayne Stone, and Clara Stahlman, and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Loretta A. Perozich, age 70 of Lincoln Boro died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore. Born September 23, 1946 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Mary Elizabeth (McCarthy) Krimm, Jr. and loving wife of the late Anthony V. Perozich, Jr. Loretta worked as a Nurse’s Assistant for McKeesport Hospital, having retired from after many dedicated years of service. Following her retirement, she began working as a tax collector for Lincoln Boro. She was also the President of the Lincoln Boro Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, the first female member of the Lincoln Boro Fire Dept., assistant Girl Scout leader, past President of South Allegheny Band Parents, and a member of St. Mark Parish of Liberty Boro where she was an usher and Christian Mother. Above all, her greatest joy was the time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Anthony (Annette) Perozich, III of Lincoln Boro, Susan Lynn (Charlie) Griffin of Plum Boro; grandchildren, Erica, Hallie, Anthony IV, and Meghan Perozich, Rebecca Lynn and Emma Louise Griffin; great-grandson, Caleb Lee; and brother, David (Diane) Krimm, III of Delmont.
