Carl J. Kijowski, age 77 of Lewisburg, PA, formerly of Port Vue, passed away on May 12, 2016 at the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, surrounded by his family and friends. Born May 9, 1939 in Port Vue, he was the son of Charles and Josephine (Synkowski) Kijowski, and beloved husband of Geraldine (Germak) Kijowski for 53 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Carol (Joe) Pollak of West Mifflin and Dolores (Art) Eagan of Pittsburgh, and many wonderful godchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Josephine; and brother, Joseph. Carl honorably served our country in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. Following his military service, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, PA. He was employed with United Technologies/Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut for 44 years as a Field Service Engineering Representative where he traveled the world. After retiring he was employed with Wood Group/Pratt & Whitney as a Senior Executive V.P. of Engineering & Government Contracts. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of Blessing Service at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church in McKeesport.
