Irene B. Reitz, age 82, of White Oak, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016, at her residence. Born May 30, 1934 in Cumberland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lander and Josephine Elizabeth (Lonzo) Fleming, and loving wife of the late Larry V. Reitz, Sr. In her younger years, Irene worked at the McKeesport Eat'n Park as a car-hop for many years. She later went on to work for King's Restaurant as well as a security guard in Pittsburgh, and most recently worked at the Alliance Christian Child Care. She enjoyed going to church at the Glassport Assembly of God where she was a Sunday school teacher and Royal Ranger. In her free time she enjoyed volunteering at Cornerstone TV, playing Yahtzee and spending time with her faithful dog, Hanna. Irene is survived by her children; Raymond Reitz, Cindy Palmer, Karen Penn, and Irene (Daniel) Brieck; Grandchildren, Chasity (Jeff) Bache, Mandy (Adam) Wagner, Nina (Greg) Plumb, Marty Joe Penn, Daniel (Darcy) Brieck Jr., and Shane Reitz; four great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry V. Reitz, Jr., and her siblings; Ethel, Jean, Mary, Elizabeth, William, and John. Kathryn A. Brown, age 63 of McKeesport, passed away at home on September 11, 2016. Born November 19, 1952 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Lenore (Hammen) Shea and the wife of David C. Brown of 31 years.
Kathryn worked as a managed care representative for a pharmaceutical company. She went to Seminary School for the Salvation Army Officer Training Program and was a Captain in the Salvation Army. Kathryn was a longtime member of the First Church of the Open Bible where she was the President of the Ladies’ Club and she also loved reading Christian literature.
She is survived by her son, Paul David Brown of McKeesport; stepsons, Eric Christopher Brown of Brick, NJ and Joshua Caleb Brown, of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter, Heather Brown of Brick, NJ; and grandson, Nathaniel Brown. Kathryn is also survived by her siblings, Carol Eiffart, Ann Marie Hallock, Patricia Watts, Ethel Poppa, Richard Shea, Edward Shea, and Dennis Shea.  A Memorial service will be held on September 17, 2016 at the First Church of The Open Bible in McKeesport at 3 p.m.  Pastor Brian Schmigel will officiate.

Doris M. Krchell, 93, of McKeesport, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Kane Regional Nursing Center, McKeesport. Born April 21, 1923, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late George and Gertrude (McLaughlin) Krchell. Doris was a member of a traveling bowling league and enjoyed golfing as well as going to casinos. She is survived by her cousins, Kathleen Gobel, of McKeesport, Kim Burek, of McKeesport, Charles Pratt Jr., of North Huntingdon, Anthony Taylor, of McKeesport, Herbert McLaughlin, of North Huntingdon, Kristen Haynes, of Claridge, and Karen Wehrli, of North Huntingdon. Linda (Maneer) Shipley, 56 of White Oak passed away at home unexpectedly while reading her daily Bible devotions on September 4, 2016.  Born March 12, 1960 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Donna (William Wehner) Shipley and the late Donald Shipley.  Linda attended the First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport for 50 years, and was active in Sage’s Army in helping to raise awareness of drug addiction.  Linda was also active in the Veteran’s Wounded Warrior Project  as a caregiver.  She was a nursing assistant at Bayada Nursing, where she cared for elderly and disabled individuals in their homes. She also loved to care for her horse Velvet and Louie Louis Vuitton her granddog.  In addition to her mom, she is survived by her children, Amy (Kenneth Ferree) McCarthy, Raelyn (Joseph Willard III) Meisenbach, and Sam (Rachel) Grissom; grandchildren, Dontae and Rayann McCarthy; sister, Lorraine (Gary Pearsol) Shipley; brother, John (Allison) Shipley; nieces and nephews, Livia, Nicholas, Dylan, Amanda, Amber, Anthony, and Aidan.  She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Donald Maneer.  She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Grissom; brother, Thomas Shipley, and an unborn child. Florence Louise (Harden) Mitchell, age 98 of White Oak, passed away on September 5, 2016 at Walden’s View Senior Living.  Born May 22, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Phyllis (Steiner) Harden and the wife of the late Campbell Mitchell.  She is survived by children, Joyce (Paul) Konkol, of North Huntingdon, David (Lois) Mitchell, of St. Augustine, FL, and Doris (Tony) Martino, of North Huntingdon.  She was the grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 12, and great-great-grandmother of 5.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis McLay, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Born April 7, 1926 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Adele (Tomkowitz) Novak and loving wife of the late Edward F. Stawicki. Dolores was a longtime parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, formerly St. Mary Czestochowa Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen L. (David) Kovacs of Sewickley; granddaughter, Rebecca Ann (Jarrett) Criss; sister, Loretta Tatarzyn of North Huntingdon; niece and three nephews; and sister-in-law, Florence Menes. Daniel Stephen Krejdovsky, age 75 of White Oak, passed away on August 28, 2016.  Born September 5, 1940 in Braddock, he was the son of the late Stephen and Hedwig Krejdovsky, and the beloved husband of Joan Krejdovsky for 54 years.  Dan was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 43 years and a member of the Letter Carriers Union over 50.  He was an animal lover and would often bring home pets on his route that no longer had a home.  He also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Pymatuning Lake. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Matthew (Regina) Krejdovsky, Meg Pero, David (Karen) Krejdovsky, and Dan (Janette) Krejdovsky; grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as “Pappy”, Zachary, Brittney (Shawn) Krznaric, Samantha, Nicole, Emma, Laney, and Daniel; great-grandson, Tristan and also nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in St. Angela Church at 11 a.m.  Rev. Irene (Bodnar) Prokop, 88, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of McKeesport, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Country Meadows of South Hills.  Born May 24, 1928, in Hungary, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Magdalene (Lakatos) Bodnar; and wife of the late Emil "Moe" Prokop.  Irene worked for Bell Telephone as a service representative and then went on to retire as a teacher's aide from Allegheny Intermediate Unit. She also volunteered at McKeesport and St. Clair Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Keith) Drudy, Kenny (Linda) Prokop and Richard (Lisa) Prokop; grandchildren, Darren Drudy, Kristen (Bevan) Drudy-Court, Richard Prokop II and Lyndsay Prokop. She was preceded in death by her sister, Zella Kozusko; and brother, Alex Bodnar. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. David A. Demchak, age 71 of McKeesport, formerly of Clairton, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at UPMC McKeesport. Born February 20, 1945 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph Demchak and Anna (Hrehocik) Demchak-Durkay, and step-son of the late John Durkay. Dave was a graduate of Clairton High School, and upon graduation joined the Air Force and honorably served our country during the Vietnam Era. He later went on to work in the accounting department for US Steel, having retired after many years of service. Following his retirement, Dave proudly started his own landscaping and lawn service business, Demchak Landscaping, and also worked as a PA Constable and was a Democratic Committeeman for the City of McKeesport. He enjoyed spending time with his family and two dogs, Yogi and Snickers, and he will be missed at Dot's Family Restaurant where he could often be seen with his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his son, David (Molly) Demchak of Monroeville and their children, Alaina, Ryan, Nathan, Lucas and Shane; daughter, Deana (Greg) Washburn of Easton, PA and their children, Alexis, Bailey, Clayton, Chloe and Halle; son, Derek (Rebecca) Demchak of Allentown, PA and their children, Sarah and Jacob; siblings, Donald (Sharon) Demchak of Plano, TX, Joann (the late Harry) Lentz of Clairton and Paul (Micky) Kearns of Munhall; companion Lauretta DeCello and former wife, Dolly Demchak. William T. “Bill” Dupier, age 78 of Port Vue, passed on August 20, 2016 at AHN Jefferson Hospital.  Born February 12, 1938 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Helen (Staniek) Dupier and husband of Margaret (Cusick) Dupier for 51 years.  Bill was a great husband, father, and grandfather, who provided for his family after working for nearly 4 decades with U.S. Steel.  He had a love and appreciation for sports and enjoyed to challenge himself with difficult crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to his wife, his is survived by daughters, Ann (Fran McDonald) Minicucci, of White Oak, Renee (Denny) Lawver, of Lancaster, PA,  and Paula (Keith) Gillen, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kristen, Tommy, Michael, Kathleen, Matthew, and Sydney; sister, Barbara Cessna, of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Walter Dupier, of York, PA and Robert Dupier, of North Huntingdon.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 4-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 10a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish.  Rev. Frank J. Plaza

Frank J. Plaza, age 98 of North Versailles, passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Manor Care Monroeville.  Born May 11, 1918 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Casimir and Sophia (Kulasa) Plaza, and loving husband of the late Virginia (Duyec) Plaza. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Plaza-Martin and her husband Klancy Martin of Harmony, Rhode Island; grandchildren, Zachary Martin (Samantha Hughes) of Denver, CO, Grady Martin and Connor Martin, both living in Pittsburgh; siblings, Andrew (Sue) Plaza of Erie and Gladys (Sal) Gonillo of Waterbury, CT; and his beloved and devoted care giver of 7 years, Cindy Wilkins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Stanley Plaza; and sisters, Nell Chrillo, Jane Kellar and Bernice Gall.  He is also survived by his cousin, Helen Gibala and many nieces and nephews. Frank was an officer of McKeesport PNA lodge 352 for over 40 years, where he enjoyed many years of friendship and comradery. Another great joy in his life was his hunting camp in Venango County which he shared with his hunting buddies. During the depression, Frank joined the CCC and was sent to Renovo, PA to earn money to help support his family.  World War II made Frank a soldier at age 25 as a member of Company B 311th engineer combat battalion, where he specialized in Highway Construction and was also qualified as a sharpshooter.  His honors include the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and the Europe Asia Middle East Theater Ribbon with 1 bronze star.  After the war, Frank continued working for US Steel Christy Park Works as a crane operator.  He retired in 1981 with 40 years of service. Born October 18, 1924 in Export, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Mercedes (Painter) Evans. Opal retired after 41 years as a secretary from Westinghouse and was a member of St. John Evangelical Church in McKeesport. She is survived by her brothers, Nelson Evans of Liberty Borough and Larry Evans of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Dolores Downs of Mechanicsburg, PA and Aileen Seachrist of Monroeville, and also nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. Sandy Criscuolo, age 71 of McKeesport, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at PinnacleHealth West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg. Born April 25, 1945 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (Holmes) Heath and loving wife of John Criscuolo for 54 years. Sandy was well known in the community as the deli manager at Marraccini Market, where she worked for 35 years until its closing. She later went on to work as a lunch aide at White Oak Elementary School. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Christy Park, and dedicated her life to helping animals, especially her cherished new puppy, Teddy. Above all, Sandy found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Pamela (Bob) Szajnuk of Enola, PA and Timothy (Michelle) Criscuolo of South Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, David, Kimmi, Nicholas, Danielle and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Faye Tatters; brother-in-law, Richard Tatters and her beloved golden retriever, Precious.
