Mary Emma Hays (Hospodar), 93 of Glassport, passed away on Tues., May 29, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 30, 1924 to Andrew and Mary (Bokomlasko) Hospodar. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burton Hays and 6 siblings, John (Hobby) and Paul Hospodar, Margaret Urban, Rose Grivna, Helen Murawski and Irene Hospodar and sister-in-law Madeline (Mimi) Hospodar. Mary was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish and its Christian Mothers Society. She worked for the Draft Board during WWII and credited her fluency with languages in her success. She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers at age 68. She also worked at Holy Cross School and for South Allegheny in the Title One Program. Mary was the proud mother of 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren: Children, Andrea (Joe Bernot) Vojtko, David (Debbie) Hays, Tim (Eileen) Hays, Doris (George) Protz, Eileen Hays and Brian (Eileen) Hays; grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Wachs, Melanie (Jeff) Flickinger, Nicole (Brian) Ewert, Missy, Mindy and Amanda Protz, Megan (Jordan) Soyke, Samantha (Kit) Baldwin, Josh (Chrissy) Hays, Tim B. (Brittany) Hays, Lauren, Brian, Kathryn, John and David Hays, Richard (Kristen) Giannandrea and Brian John "BJ" (Tuesday Kenney) Hays and Ashleigh (Nate) Nix; great grandchildren Tyler and Dylan Wachs, Will and Ben Flickinger, Chloe, Owen and Logan Soyke, Vivian Baldwin, Emma, Maddie and Lucas Hays, Scarlett Giannandrea, Aria Jade Nix and Harper Hays. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Thurs. 2-8. A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. Interment following Round Hill Cemetery.

Clara J. Hindman, 71 of Glassport died May 28, 2018. She is the daughter of the late Jim and Mary Wylie. Debra A. Kelch, 60, of Glassport, died May 20, 2018. She is the daughter of the late Stanely and Evelyn (Balla) Winkler. Dean E. "Deano" Keener, 58 of Glassport died May 16, 2018. He is the son of the late William and Belva (Matthews) Keener. Dean is survived by his beloved wife Gloria (Walsh) Keener; daughter Kristen Keener; grandchildren Mykal Massrotian, Larry Jackson, Malik Jackson, Alaina Jackson, Trevaughn Jackson and Naveaha Jones; brothers Gary (Sheila) Keener and Daryl Keener; sisters Pam Nasal, Sheila (Joe) Lucey, Cheryl Ann Campbell, Nancy Sisko and Brenda Keener. He was a beloved uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also, a very special friend to two very special little boys, Devin and Aden. He was preceded in death by sister Teena Keener and brothers Bill and Georgie Keener. Dean was an avid toy car collector and would repair them and give them to Devin and Aden. James E. Goldsworthy, 53 of Elizabeth died April 4, 2018. He is the son of the late Ernest and Marilyn Schwirian. Walter P. Plesniak, Jr., 54 of McKeesport, died April 3, 2018. He is the son of the late Walter P. and Mary M. Harold N. "Buzz" Phillips, Jr., 64 of Glassport, died March 30, 2018. He is the son of the late Harold and Donaldeen (Beitler) Phillips, Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife Louise Phillips; sons Brian Phillips and Jim (Lisa) Phillips; grandchildren Jim Phillips, Jr, Alex, Ben and Elizabeth and sister Sheryl Perozich; also nieces and nephews. Buzz worked at National Tubes for 13 years and then Kane Regional Center. Buzz was a member of Port Vue Athletic Association and church council at Queen of the Rosary. He was also very active in Glassport and South Allegheny's football, basketball and baseball programs where he coached for many years. LEONARD HORNFECK, Age 80, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018. Carl S. "Skip" Mowry, Sr., 76 of West Mifflin, formerly of Duquesne, died March 14, 2018. He is the son of the late Victor E. and Sylvia J. (Miller) Mowry. Carl is survived by his ex wife and constant companion, Norma (Burgman) Mowry; children Christine A. Mowry, Carl S. (Theresa White) Mowry, Jr. and Shari (Willie) Mowry Williams; sister Clara P. Theresa (Uziel) Kuzio, of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Glassport, died March 7, 2018 in Franklin, MA. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Raszewski) Uziel. Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Kuzio., whom she married on July 1, 1950 at Holy Cross Church. She is survived by son Mark Kuzio of Belfast, ME, daughter Mary Anne Lindner of Virginia Beach, VA and son Neil Kuzio of Franklin, MA; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers Stanley Uziel of Glassport, Eugene Uziel of Monroeville and sister-in-law Dolores Nizanty of Hollywood FL. Her brother Valentine Uziel and wife Irene were a special part of Theresa and Joe's life, sharing many special moments over the years. Theresa will be remembered as a loving, dedicated mother and wife, her great fortitude through difficult times and teaching her children many valuable life skills through example of "where there's a will, there's a way." Always greeting family and friends alike with a warm smile, she will be remembered for her optimism and supportive nature. We will always be grateful and will keep her in our hearts.
