Geneva Marie Washington, 76, died February 2, 2024. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 17 Cochran St., Duquesne, PA, where a funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb. 13. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg. Arrangements are in care of Tunie Funeral Home.

William “Bill” James Dudik, 87, of McKeesport, PA died on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh after a sudden illness.
He was born in McKeesport on August 5, 1936 and was the son of the late Mike Dudik and Julia (Vojnyik) Dudik.
He was a 1954 graduate of McKeesport High School, then served in the US Air Force. Bill went on to receive a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology from The University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1976.
Bill was a proprietor of a wholesale goods importing company, owned a sewing machine sales and repair shop, then also worked in sales at Tom Clark’s Used Autos. He was certified and elected as a Constable and also worked as a security guard. Bill was a life-long avid collector and seller of vintage and antique items.

Justin M. Detar, Sr., 44, of Sewickley Twp, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was born March 1, 1979 in Greensburg and was the son of Anthony J. (Kathy) Detar and Nancy L. Beverly “Dottie” King Smith, 83 of West Mifflin, formerly of Glassport, passed away on Tuesday February 6th, 2024 at her home. She was born in McKeesport on September 20th, 1940 to the late Lester and May Bowen King. She was the loving wife of 47 years to the late Francis Smith. Beverly is survived by her children Laura Delewski of Bethel Park, Diane Pack of Southshore KY, and Michael Smith of West Mifflin, siblings Mary Ross of North Huntingdon, Eva (Larry) Lattanzi of Glassport, Kathryn (Gary) Kukler of Belle Vernon, and Harold (Judy) King of Glassport, grandchildren Ashley, Robert, and Paige as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Francis Smith, sisters Clara Twele and Leta King. She enjoyed winning at bingo, and getting strikes in bowling. Alberta Geraldine (DiFalco) Julian, age 89 of Pleasant Hills and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Jefferson Hospital. Born November 5, 1934 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (DaBaldo) DiFalco. A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Alberta was a member of the mothers club of the former St. Clare of Assisi Parish, a volunteer at St. Clare Convent, and a former Democratic Committeewoman. She also enjoyed her many trips to New York City. Besides her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony James Julian, who passed away October 29, 2021, and her siblings: Joseph DiFalco, Anna Pastore, and Ellen Julian. She is survived by her children Thomas Julian of Pittsburgh and Barbara (Joe) Mills of West Mifflin; and also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. There is no visitation scheduled for Alberta.

Joseph P. Raposky Jr., age 84, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital. After retiring from managing an auto salvage business, he enjoyed spending time with and caring for his family, working outside with wood, and doing puzzles. Joe was looked up to by everyone, both family and community, for his no nonsense guidance and ability to handle problems. Born October 10, 1939 in Large, he was a son of the late Joseph P. Raposky Sr. and the late Mary (Sopko) Raposky. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy C. Raposky; children, Robin (Jeremy) Musher of Sewickley and Lori (Lou) Stephens of Peters Twp.; granddaughters, Caitlin (Joshua) Jordan of Whitehall and Emily Steve of Peters Twp.; sister, Jane Foshee; also, nieces and nephews. Robert A. Zaval, 102 of North Huntingdon died February 8, 2024 at his home. He was born October 10, 1921 in Philipsburg. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for Fort Pitt Steel Casting Company in McKeesport. He enjoyed crocheting, splitting wood, and daily trips to Walmart. Bob was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army's 8th Armored Division in Rhineland and Central Europe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Zaval and son Daryl Zaval. Lester Earl Maurer, Jr., 88, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born June 14, 1935 in Greenock and was the son of the late Lester Maurer, Sr., and Gertrude Beatrice (Taylor) Maurer. Lester attended Christy Park United Methodist Church and the Boston United Methodist Church. He loved baseball and playing softball. He was a avid collector of model trains and spent countless hours decorating his platform each Christmas with elaborate towns and landscapes, most of which he crafted by hand. He was well known for his unique costumes (some he won awards for) and Halloween shenanigans to scare his grandkids or anyone who walked past him sitting on a park bench at Walmart or McDonald's. He found a second family as a patron of the Pittsburgh Renaissance festival, and even earned a spot in the royal parade among the cast and crew. He played baseball for Christy Park Methodist and was retired from the Equitable Gas Co.

Mary Pavlecic, age 95 of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in UPMC East, Monroeville. Born June 1, 1928 in Wilmerding, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mara (Nejak) Basa. A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Mary worked as a clerk at Kaufmann's Department Store, for Nabisco in Pittsburgh, and at Basa's Greenhouse. She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #146 and its Pensioneers and Senior Women's Club; the Penn Sembles, the Royal Neighbors, S.O.A.R., and the Mon Yough Friendship Club. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank "Tata" Pavlecic, who passed away August 16, 2006; her sons Frank C. Pavlecic, Jr., who passed away February 25, 2018, and Gary Pavlecic, Sr., who passed away April 21, 2009; and her siblings: Andrew Basa, Kathryn Cipcic, and Rose Patella. Mary is survived by her grandchildren Nicole (Ben) Cable of North Huntingdon, G. Matthew Pavlecic Jr. of Gibsonia, David R. (Heather) Pavlecic of Glenshaw, and Jonathan J. Joseph A. DiFalco, 86, of North Versailles, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was born March 22, 1937 in Clairton and was the son of the late Domenick and Josephine (DaBaldo) DiFalco. He was the husband of 57 years to the late Shirley Mae (Paul) DiFalco, who passed away December 14, 2017. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish (St. Robert Bellarmine site) and was a part of The Men's Club and organized many oldies dances there. Joseph was a US Army Veteran and was a part of the 46th Medical Batallion, 4th Division. He was manager of the former Richman Brother's Clothing store and would later work at JC Penny in Monroeville. Music played a vital part of Joseph's life. He was an accomplished singer in his younger years, he loved to perform, sing and dance, and more recently was a member of The Streetlights Doo Wop Group. The radio or record player were always on. He loved to travel, especially to the beach and hang out and spend time with his family, friends and neighbors. Joseph loved his family, and was the #1 fan of all his grandchildren during all their sporting events growing up. He will be greatly missed.
