Shirley A. Weitzel, 91, of Indian Lake, passed away January 8, 2021 after a short, fierce battle with Covid-19 at Laurel View Village. She was born December 19, 1929 in Ridley Park and was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen (Thompson) Alexander. She was the wife of 53 years to the late Robert D. Weitzel, Jr. Shirley was raised in Ridley Park, Delaware County and graduated from West Chester State College. She taught elementary school, primarily, History and Science, for 5th grade for 30 years. After she was chosen to work in the classroom with the Bicentennial Project of 1776, she became the author of Land O'Goshen, a historical novel, a Tale of Chester County and dedicated it to all of the boys and girls of Chester county, most especially to her children, Patty, Emily and Andrew. Shirley and her husband retired to Indian Lake in 1990 and loved their lake life, including much gardening, bird watching, traveling and community service, just as much as they loved their grandchildren and many beloved pets.

Michael Habali, age 91, of Blaine Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired after 41 years as a motorman for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. Born October 9, 1929 in Clairton, he was a son of the late John and Vera (Dulonich) Habali. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Phyllis (Webb) Habali; son, Michael (Sande) Habali of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter, Linda (Dr. Michael Fontana) Fontana of White Oak; grandchildren, Kandace (Jay) Kettren of North Huntingdon, Jason (Emily) Habali of Ormond Beach, FL and Jon Habali of Florida; great-grandchildren, Taylar Getsy, Kalei Getsy, and Luke and Jacob Habali; also, nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, George, and sister, Mary Shepard. No visitation and services are planned. Arrangements by the Paul E.
