Martin "Marty" D. Yurchison, 75, of Champion, PA, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019, in U.P.M.C. East, Monroeville. Born in McKeesport, September 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Michaelyn (Radzievich) (Rogers) Yurchison. Mr. Yurchison was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and a self employed contractor. Beloved husband of the late Diane (McDermitt) Yurchison, he is survived by three sons, Gary Yurchison, Paul (Elizabeth) Yurchison, and Matthew (Danielle) Yurchison, four grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, Joseph, and Emily, nieces, nephews, and special companion, Kathy Miller. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Yurchison and three brothers, Bernard Rogers, Francis and Ronald Yurchison.

Erickson, Sr.; mother of Kathleeen (Christopher) Steimer of Elizabeth Twp. and the late Richard W. Elizabeth M. Betty (Ellis) Bogacik age 93 of Sharpsburg, GA., Formerly Of Duquesne, on September 27, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Kaplar) Elles.

Betty was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquesne. She played the bass Fiddle in a musical group, and wrote a song about Christ the Light of World and presented it to the parish. Betty created her own crossword puzzles and dedicated her life to God and was very generous and gave glory to God.

Her former husband, Paul J. Bogacik, preceded her in death.

She is the mother of BettyAnn Harvey of Cumberland, Md., Bonnie (David) Calhoun of Hanover, PA., JoAnn (late John III) Hailstones of Liberty Boro, Theresa “Terri” (Mark) Dull of Sharpsburgh, GA., Paul (Jodie) Bogacik of Orlando FL.

Sister of George (late Irene) Elles of Erie, PA., also 4 grandchildren and 1 late granddaughter and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation Thursday October 10, 2019 from 9-10:30 am. Followed by a blessing service at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Followed by mass of Christian burial at St. Hedwig Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish at 11 am. Rev Terza officiating, entombment Calvary garden mausoleum.

Timothy A. Dailey 65, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was born March 13, 1954 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Owens) Dailey. Tim was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and Penn State University. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He had worked for US Steel Clairton Works, and also worked for Allegheny County as Assistant to the Director of Human Resources, tip staff to Judge Ronald Follino, and Supervisor for Juvenile Court/Probation. Tim lived his life according to the Beatitudes and put others' needs ahead of his own. He was a kind and gentile person. He will be sadly missed.

 Theresa "Terry" A. Unterseher, 75, of North Versailles, formerly of Duquesne, passed away with family by her side on Sept. 28, 2019.  She is the daughter of the late Gilbert Loveland and Laverne (Stein) Smith.  She is survived by her beloved husband Edward Unterseher; daughter Dawn (Paul) Kogut; son Edward (Gale) Unterseher; step grandson Ricky (Krystal) Martinelli; great grandson Nicholas; Aunt June Loveland; and she was also loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.  Terry was a member of St. Joseph Church in Duquesne and graduated from Duquesne High School in 1963.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Friday, 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery.

Sophia A. Daily, age 95,  formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away September 27, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. She was born May 15, 1924 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Casmir and Mary Kruzek Wieliczko. Sophia was a former member of St. Agnes Church where she was a Christian Mother, prior to relocating to New Port Richey, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland E. Daily; brothers, John, Edward, Frank and Stanley Welesko; and sister, Helen M. Joseph. She is survived by two sons, David R. Daily and his wife, Karen, Dennis R. Daily and his wife, Brenda; daughter, Diane D. Bahno and her husband, Anthony; brother, Joseph Welesko; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the James W. West, age 91 of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born September 1, 1928 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Isabella (Walton) McIntosh.  Dorothy worked at the Hallmark Store in Clairton and also at Johnston's the Florist.  She is survived by her husband of 68 years Harry A. West; her children Andrew R. (Patricia) West of Clairton and Catharine (Craig) Supp of Elizabeth Twp.; her grandchildren Maj. Andrew (Tara) West of Pleasant Hills, Jessica (Douglas) Junecko of Port Vue, and Capt. Jeff (Lisa) West, currently stationed with the US Army; her great-grandchildren Ethan, Liam, and Sam West, Chloe Junecko, and Danielle Opfar; her great-great-grandchildren Mason, Rhiannon, and Jackson; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings Isabella Rayer, and Thomas, James, and Frank McIntosh.

Denis Craig Sechrist, 65, of Somerset, previously of Glassport for 62 years, passed away at the U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland, Pittsburgh on Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was born in McKeesport to the late Harry Craig and Lois Forbes Sechrist on August 29, 1954. Denis is survived by his brother, Bruce D. (Carol) Sechrist, of Jessup, MD, and sister, June L. (Edgar) Weakland, of Somerset, and nephew, Bruce Edward Sechrist, of Somerset, and his cat, Silver. Denis graduated from South Allegheny High School in 1972, where he was equipment manager for football. After South Allegheny, Denis went on to CCAC, earning his Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences. He was employed by Mellon Bank as a mail clerk, was an avid sports fan, most especially when it came to the Penguins. He also enjoyed keeping up with current events, television, and was known as an amateur performer at the Senior Center. Denis was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Glassport, and also the Roof Top Garden Christian Church, in Somerset. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at E.C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Ave, Glassport, PA 15045. A service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00, to be presided by Pastor Roy Worsham. Robert P. Holuka, 73, of West Mifflin, originally from Duquesne, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019. Born March 29, 1946 to the late John and Mary (Magdich) Holuka. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, John. Robert is survived by his former wife, Karen (Lunz) Holuka.

He is already terribly missed by his daughter, Amy Tricia Graham. She will never forget her childhood memories of having "feet fights" on the couch, him allowing her to put barrettes and bows in what hair he had left, watching boxing with him and of course she still has and uses the toy box he made for her many decades ago. She will be forever so proud of him and very gratefull she inherited his Bob Vila and MacGyver skills and his quirkiness.

Joseph John Harchar, 96, a resident of Jefferson Hills for 67 years, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.  He was born in Glassport on May 4th, 1923 to the late John and Mary Jackabcin Harchar. Joseph was the loving husband of Mary Ducko Harchar for 67 years. He is also survived by his sons, Joseph Harchar, of Woodbridge, VA, John (Judie) Harchar, of The Woodlands, TX, Kenneth Harchar of Jefferson Hills, and Robert Harchar of Jefferson Hills, nephew, Sidney (JoAnne) Cicchini , of Belle Vernon, and nieces, Phyllis Usko, of Forward Township, and Claire Marie (Tony) Cicchini Monias of Belle Vernon and Diane (Ed) Hickley of Port Vue. Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Albert, and sisters, Helen, Ann, Irene, Teresa, Bertha and infant siblings, Mamie, Mamie and John. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal for his service. Joseph was a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1949. He attained membership in Tau Beta P, National Honorary Engineering Society, Chi Epsilon National Honorary Civil Engineering Society. He was a member of the Phi Kappa fraternity while attending college and is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association. After graduating college his working career began at the American Bridge Company, and continued through several engineering firms including Koppers Corporation and ending with the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 25 years.  He was a project engineer on several local flood protection projects, and project manager on multipurpose dam projects from which he retired in 1983. After retirement he was selected to join President Ronald Reagan’s Goodwill Ambassador Team to go to China and consult with the Chinese on the construction of the recently completed dam on the Yangtze River. He had to refuse this appointment due to the simultaneous illness of his wife, who underwent successful cancer surgery during the same period. Joseph was a former member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Clairton, which later became part of St. Clare Assisi. He enjoyed walking in the woods, fishing, gardening, including his “WWII Victory Garden”, was an ardent sports fan, a hobbyist mechanic and tinkerer, and enjoyed bird-watching, and was a dedicated family man. Joseph was a member of many organizations including: the Society of American Military engineers, Who’s Who in Engineering (1982), U.S. Committee on Large Dams, American Society of Civil Engineers, Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, Tou Beta Pi Engineering Honorary Society, Chi Epsilon Civil Engineers Honorary Society, former member of the Jefferson Hills Borough Planning Commission, St. Joseph’s Branch #479 of the First Catholic Slovak Union, and the National Slovak Society. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at E.C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Ave, Glassport, PA 15045. A service will take place on Tuesday, at 10:00 at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, in Clairton. Interment with military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA.
