David Hubert Scott, age 67, of North Versailles, died Monday, June 3, 2019. He was born in McKeesport on July 8, 1951 and is the son of the late Hubert W. and Dorothy Emma Prezel Scott. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam war. He was a chef at Robert Morris University and at Parkhurst Dining in Pittsburgh.
He is survived by his wife, Holly McFarland Scott of McKeesport; sisters, Dorothy “Dolly” (Rich) Loughner of Greensburg, Pat (Bill) Rugh of N. Versailles, Evelyn (George) Velardo of Versailles, Janet Kostic of Madison; also beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, (412 678 6177) on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kirk Albrecht officiating. Burial will follow. Joan Dolores Brown, age 74, of McKeesport, died May 31, 2019, at home. Born May 2, 1945, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Bernum and Jean (Jenkins) Allen and the wife of the late Kenneth Blake Brown. Joan was a woman of faith and family. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Kathleen (Rhodes) Rost, age 94 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Born June 25, 1924 in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late George and Carolyn (Flaherty) Rhodes. A graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Kathleen also worked as a secretary for Rost Electric, her family's business. She was a devout member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. and kept her faith strong. In her spare time, Kathleen loved to play bridge and golf with her Y.C.C. Women's Golf League. She enjoyed travelling with her friends from N.E.C.A. and loved her family vacations to Stone Harbor, NJ and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife to William F. Rost, who passed away August 14, 1992.

John Dixon III, 61, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in Heritage Place, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was born July 28, 1957, in McKeesport, PA, son of the late John Dixon, Jr. and Jimmie Roberta Elizabeth Greer Dixon.
He worked as a Laborer.
Survivors include son, Derrick Dixon of Belle Vernon; daughter, Caylyn (Tyrone) Carter of Reading, PA; six grandchildren; siblings, Audrey Hines of Braddock, Jacquelyn (Samuel) Givens of Elizabeth, Beverly Dixon of Atlantic City, NJ, Glenn Jones of Latrobe, Chandler Dixon of Okinowa, Japan, and Randy Washington of Ogden, Utah; girlfriend, Geraldine of Wilkinsburg, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Michael J. Uhren, 92, of West Mifflin passed away into the arms of the Lord our God on May 31, 2018. Mike was born October 18, 1926 in Duquesne, PA to George and Elisabeth Uhren.
Mike served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. When he came home he was a mill worker, house builder and butcher before becoming a mailman, which he did for over 40 years. More importantly, when he came home, he went to Kennywood one day and freeloaded some French Fries from a gorgeous woman from Homestead named Helen Bakota. They would spend the next 70 years virtually inseparable. Mike is survived by his wife Helen (Bakota) of West Mifflin, son Greg Uhrlen (Kara) of South Fayette and granddaughters Kayla and Juliana Uhrlen of South Fayette. Mike was fearless and absolutely adored his granddaughters Kayla and Juliana. They were his pride and joy!

Julie was a retired English teacher. She taught 8th grade English in Apple Valley, CA, and Cognitive Brain Training at the Learning RX of Hesperia, CA.

Helen A. (Suchta) Gambal, 98, formerly of Duquesne and Dravosburg, died peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019, in Riverside Care Center, McKeesport. Born in Duquesne on April 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Turcik) Suchta. Mrs. Gambal was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin and a retired housekeeper for Jefferson Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Gambal and the loving mother of Donald (Grace) Gambal of Cleveland, Ohio and the late Thomas Gambal. She is also survived by a sister, Pauline Perhac of Duquesne. In addition to her parents, husband and son she was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Andrew and George Suchta, and three sisters, Mary Karafa, Anna Karafa, and Virginia Skoczylas.
