Charles Joseph Emert was born March 3, 1933 and passed on August 21, 2019 at Mt. Vernon of South Park. Chuck graduated from Central Catholic High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He also went to the University of Utah where he received a master’s degree in science. Chuck could tell you anything you wanted to know about the Periodic Table. He was a nuclear physicist at Bettis Atomic Power Lab where he built nuclear reactors for submarines. He retired in 2001 due to family complications. He spent his free time as a cantor at St. Isaac Jogues Church and was a photographer for their services like Communion and confirmations. He was an avid photographer, a great chef, and an astronomer. Chuck leaves behind a loving family including his wife, Mary Ann Emert, his stepchildren, step-grandchildren, nephews, and some close family friends. Visitation will be at the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth, on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 10 AM until the time of a blessing service at 11 AM with Fr. Bud Falkenhan officiating. Carole L. Bonner, 75, of Sewickley Township, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019. She was born in McKeesport, Pa., a daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Beltz. Carole was a graduate of McKeesport High School and owner of her beauty shop in her house in Port Vue. Her and her husband, Thomas, were foster parents for 10 years. She loved walking at Indian Lake in the summer and riding on the mower cutting grass and was a member of SOAR US Steel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Bonner; brothers, Carl Jr. and William Beltz. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Bonner; sons, Thomas D. Bonner Jr. and his fiancee, Andrea; two grandchildren, Leah Marie Bonner and Venessa Ballough; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Judy Mollozzi; brother-in-law, Dr. Ronald Bonner and his wife, Diane and their sons, Jason and Joshua; numerous nieces and nephews, Paula, Dean, Mark, Melissa, Jennifer and Carl. Friends will be received on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Carol A. (Ehrlich) Humphries, age 61, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019. She was born February 18, 1958 in Lawrenceville, a daughter of the late George and May Ehrlich. She worked in accounts receivable for Matthews International, Inc. in Pittsburgh, was an avid camper at Roaring Run Camp ground in Donegal, loved gardening and spending holiday’s and Steeler Sunday’s with family. Mark J. Lazzaro, 76, of North Huntingdon, went to be with his Lord and Savior August 17, 2019. He was born September 21, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph J. and Josephine M. (Mazzei) Lazzaro. Mark was a bus driver for most of his working life and drove over 3,600,000 miles as a safe bus driver. He worked for Lincoln Coach, Pennsylvania Coach, 88 Transit, and Community Life. He also worked at Sam’s Club. At age 59 he rode his bike with friends 45 miles from Ohiopyle to Sutersville.
Mark excelled at everything he did. He was a member of Norwin Christian & Missionary Alliance Church where he served as an elder, a devoted Sunday school teacher and was in charge of the church van. Mark battled cancer courageously and valiantly with a trust and faith in Jesus as his savior beyond all measure. Mark was a Marine Corps disabled veteran and a member of the Marine Corps League.
