JAMES ZABELSKY (5521) age 80, of Duquesne, on January 9, 2019. He was a son of the late Leo and Viola (Wrobleski) Zabelsky. Jim started his career in transportation with Duquesne Motor Coach, then Bamford Bus Company, and retiring as a supervisor from the Port Authority of Allegheny County. He was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne- West Mifflin Knights of Columbus Council #4210. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, skee ball, traveling, and going to restaurants. Beloved husband of Paula (Ametz) Zabelsky for 59 years; father of Jamie (Eric) Mattson of Duquesne, Terri Jo (Martin) Schorr of White Oak; grandfather of Jim Schorr and Hannah Schorr; brother of Mary Lou Zabelsky of Duquesne, Leona (Frank) Sprentz of McKeesport, and the late Leo E. Zabelsky and his surviving spouse, LaVon Zabelsky of Duquesne; also nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY- SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME , 15 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, (412) 466-3300, where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish at 10 a.m., Rev. Shirley J. Torboli Kushner, age 80, of Cranberry Twp., formerly of White Oak, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 while under the care of UPMC Cranberry Place.

Shirley was born on May 2, 1938 in Avella, Washington County. She was a faithful member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Parish in Cranberry Twp. Known for her beautiful smile, Shirley was a kind and generous woman who had a great sense of humor. Her laughter was contagious to everyone around her. Above all, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Robert J. Kushner, whom she married on February 10, 1962; her daughter, Christine Pawlak and her husband, Kurt; her grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Sarah and Connor; her brothers, Kenneth and David Torboli; her sisters, Diane Meriage and Maxine Mason; and her daughter-in-law, Angela Kushner.

Patricia H. "Pat" Beckinger age 77 of Glassport, formerly of Duquesne on January 9, 2019. Beloved wife of Jhon Beckinger; loving daughter of Norman and Adelaide (Menzie) Hart who preceded her in death; treasured sister of Micki Hart Faller of Shadyside. Pat received her bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish in Duquesne where she taught at Duquesne Catholic School for many years. Her sixth grade social studies class won a national contest with an essay on Space Bill of Rights. The prize was a visit from an astronaut, Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon. Pat previously taught at St. Keiran's School in Lawrenceville and St. Sebastian's School in the North Hills. Pat was very devout in her faith and served as Eucharistic minister and lector at St. Joseph Church and at Christ of the Light of the World Parish. This enabled many people to stay connected to their church through her efforts and dedication. Visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne 412-466-3300, where her funeral will begin with a Blessing Service at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Parish Cemetery.

While Mrs. Struiff was primarily a homemaker, she was an instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and later in life became a published author. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph "Al " Struiff Jr., a daughter, Lynn Koza, and a granddaughter, Amanda Faux, she is survived by her loving daughter, Leslie Faux, five grandchildren, Casey Koza Turbeville (Michael), Randi Koza, Adam O'Hara, Sara Faux (Brian Bakey), and Joseph Aaron Faux, and two great grandchildren, Madisyn Faux and Nolan Bakey.
