(Jill) Derry Jr. of Tarpon Springs, FL and Debbie (Malloy) Derry of West Mifflin. Husband of his childhood sweetheart, Sadie (Richards) Derry, to whom he was married for 13 years; father of Eva Derry, age 9 and Levi Derry, age 4; grandson of Marcia (Late James) Malloy of West Mifflin and Margaret (Late John Sr.) Derry of West Mifflin; son-in-law of Thomas and Lola (Bowers) Richards of Jefferson Hills; brother of Kristopher (Jennifer) Derry of N. Huntingdon; brother-in-law of Britt (Joseph) Oliver of Jefferson Hills, and Grace (Brian) Dittman of Jefferson Hills. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Bentley. Visitation Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 2-8 at MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 412-466-3300 where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Chris Jerin of the Jefferson Hills Bible Church officiating. Merton Hersh, age 92, of McKeesport, died May 24, 2018. He was born in McKeesport on May 30, 1925 and is the son of the late Harry Hersh and the late Irene Einzig Hersh Stein. He was a WW II Army veteran with the 79th Division, 313th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Combat Infantry Badge, the WW II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Temple B’Nai Israel, the Allied War Veterans and a life member of the Jewish War Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans.  Merton graduated from the University of Pgh. in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and then in 1952 from the University of Pgh. School of Business Administration with a Masters in Merchandising and Advertising. He is survived by many cousins and friends.

Daniel D. Dunlay, age 86 of McKeesport, died at home Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born March 31, 1932 in McKeesport, the son of the late James F. and Helen T. Bicsey Harman Dunlay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David M. Harman and James J. Dunlay. A 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School, Daniel attended the former Carnegie Institute of Technology before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. As a skilled draftsman, he worked for USS Christy Park, Westinghouse Astronuclear and Contraves. He enjoyed walking, golf, and puzzles, and was an avid reader and handyman. He had a talent for writing and art that gave him much pleasure.

Cayden Di’Cari Kirk (our little fighter), 18 days old, of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Magee-Womens Hospital.  Born May 4, 2018, in Pittsburgh, he was son of Dalyn Jackson and Cameron Kirk.

In addition to his parents, Cayden is survived by brother, Camdyn Kirk; grandparents, Dana Jackson and David Stephenson, and Angela Kirk and Terry Jones; great grandfather, Ronald Jackson; great grandmother, Belinda Kirk; aunts and uncles, Davaya, Darius, and David Stephenson, and Kaloni, Teri, Kyla, and Tyreek Jones, and Christian, De’Anthony, and Codi Kirk; and many cousins.  Thank you for your prayers and support during our time of loss. It has meant so much to our family.

He was a retired self-employed painter for Al (Yacavace) & Bill Painting in Jefferson Hills and surrounding areas. His favorite pastime was preparing elaborate meals and sharing with family and friends. He loved mostly all genres of music but especially jazz, both old and new.  He was a car enthusiast, reading every automobile book he could get his hands on, and loved to watch Velocity 24/7 and/or any auto auction.

The seventh of eight children, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, and seven of eight siblings: Sister Mary Josephine VSC, John (Nancy) Terek, Helen (William) Ogurchak, Pauline (Michael) Hrehocik, Michael Terek, and Frank Terek.  She is survived by her sister Dorothy (Edward) Valencik.  Millie “Sister M. Elaine VSC” was a member of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity for 18 years.
