He was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church where he was formerly Vice President there. He was also a member of Polaris Lodge F & AM, Duquesne Royal Arch Chapter No. 162, and Pittsburgh Commandry No. 1 Knight's Templar. Alex was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Business Administration and was a member of Pitt Alumni.
