Gertrude M. Smola, 96, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. She was born August 11, 1922 in North Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Wilmer C. and Mary (Filtz) Auckerman. Gertrude was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, Church Women's Group, Cereal Heights Homemakers and card club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smola; son, Paul Smola; brothers, Raymond and Russell Auckerman, sister, Eleanor Vargo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Tuesday 11 a.m-1 p.m. A funeral service will take place on 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. John Fekete, 75, of Westmoreland City, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare. He was born March 25, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ, a son of the late John and Mary Dzurka Fekete. Prior to his retirement, John was a machinist for Fulmer Company, a veteran of the US Army, having served during Vietnam War, and a member of St. Stephen's Byzantine Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith A. Prior to his retirement, Alex was a field engineer for Peoples Natural Gas, a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Vietnam War, and a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1958.
