Karos, 95, of West Mifflin, died March 11, 2019.  She is the daughter of the late Jovo and Anna (Relich) Karos.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers John, Michael, George and Rudolph Karos and sisters Mildred Korach, Anna Wilhelm and Olga Karos.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Elizabeth was a member of Holy Spirit Church.  A funeral mass will be held Wed., March 13, 2019, 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Church.  Interment following St. Sava's Cemetery, Castle Shannon.  Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.

Feeney Gilkey.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Duquesne University and worked for over 20 years as the school librarian for St. Angela Merici School in White Oak. She loved reading books, was a member of St. Angela Merici Church, and was a loving mother and grandmother.

, 91, of Saratoga, Ca., formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019.  He was born December 9, 1927 in McKeesport, Pa., a son of the
late Michael Stephen and Mary (Zsalabak) Voron. John was a graduate of Penn Tech
Institute. Prior to his retirement from US Steel as a piping designer, he was a patent
draftsman for Robertshaw Fulton Controls. He was a member of St. Stephen Byzantine
Catholic Church. John was also a veteran of the US Marine Corps 1st Battalion 7th
Regiment and served in China and the occupying forces in Japan during WWII from 1945 –
1947. He enjoyed art, gardening, cooking ethnic Ukrainian/Russian food, and spending
time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Nancy M. Foley Voron; brothers, Michael (Helen) and William (Irene) Voron; and sister,
Mary (Frank) Natalie. He is survived by his sons, Mark T., John R., Vincent J. (Salima), and
Nicholas A. (Mary), grandchildren Joshua Slagy, Erik Voron (Esra), Nicole Paulovich
(Darrin), Vincent S. Voron, Lucas S. Voron, Nikolai M. Voron and Michaela M. Voron, great-
granddaughter Peyton Paulovich; cherished sister in-law Patricia White (Jeff); brother in-law
John P. Foley (Judith). Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176

BARBARA JEAN ROWELL   age 86 of West Mifflin, “Dude” as she was known to family and friends, passed away at the age of 86 at home surrounded by her dedicated and loving daughters on March 10, 2019. Wife of the late William Rowell; devoted & beloved Mother of Kathy (Bruce) Dickson, Amy (Chuck) Metz and Diane Rowell; loving & admired Gram of Chad (Alisha) Metz, Ashley (James) Leax, Ben Dickson, Luke Dickson, Amanda (Ben) Vice, Sam Dickson, Tessa (Chris) Cerda and Eli Dickson; cherished & proud GG of Liam Dickson, Brenna, Maeve & Keeva Leax, soon-to-be Baby Metz, and her grand puppies. Daughter of the late Arthur & Catherine (Nee) Fisher; Sister of Lynn (Daniel) Gluvna and the late John (wife Audrey survives) Fisher and recently deceased Florence Fisher. “Dude” was known for creating nick names for family members and her zinger phrases. During her life she worked successfully as the Shoe Dept. Manager at Hill’s Dept. Store, was a great bus trip organizer, homemaker, mother, grandma, great gram, worked at Post Shoe Store, and was a lifelong member at St. Agnes Church. In accordance with her expressed wishes, there will be no viewing. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 9:30 at St. Agnes Church in West Mifflin. Burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home, Duquesne, PA.  In lieu of flowers or donations to a charity, the family requests that you demonstrate an act of kindness towards one another, or call family & friends to say “I love you”, or turn off your electronics and talk to one another in memory of our wonderful, strong, courageous Mother. Thomas A. Baka, age 77 of McKeesport, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, Monday, March 11, 2019. He was born October 25, 1941 in Charleroi, the son of the late Michael A. and Mary Uchacz Baka. He worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel-Dravosburg and after retiring he loved driving for Access. He was devoted to the Lord, an usher and member of First Baptist Church, McKeesport for 37 years. He was a regular donor to the American Red Cross and a lifelong fisherman. He was an avid bowler all of his life, and his teammates named their league “Baka’s Pirates” in honor of him. Thomas enjoyed helping people in need and especially loved his family.

Patricia Clark McCusker, age 87, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of Glassport, died Saturday, March 9, 2019.  She was born in Mexico, Maine, on Nov. 13, 1931 and is the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Cecelia Bryant Mowat.  She is the wife of the late Thomas J. McCusker who died March 12, 1991.  She was preceded in death by siblings, James Mowat, Kirk Mowat, Terrence Mowat and Bonnie Mowat Fircak. 

Patricia is survived by sisters-in-law, Virginia Mowat of Liberty Borough and Barbara Mowat of Mission, Texas; nieces and nephews, Timothy Mowat, Daniel (Dawn) Mowat, Heather (Richard Sherman) Mowat, Terri Lee (Dave) Petrillo, Jamie (Brian) Young, Heidi (Joe) Povinelli, Kirk Mowat, Kevin Fircak and Michel (Jenny) Fircak.

In addition to being a loving homemaker, Patricia was a waitress for the former Klein’s Restaurant in Pittsburgh for approximately 25 years, the business manager for the former T.J. McCusker Mechanical Contracting in Glassport, a retail specialist for the men’s suits department at Macy’s in Century III and Monroeville Malls, and also was very proud of her work as the house manager and volunteer for Family House in Pittsburgh.

Family and friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA  15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177) on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm and also on Saturday, March 16, 2019  from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.

Dorothy was a member of the Golden Key Club, AARP, and White Oak American Legion Post 701 auxillary for over 30 years where she held office as historian and vice president. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and after retirement spending winters in Venice, FL.

Speney, Sr., age 92 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Sunday, March 10, 2019.  Born September 15, 1926 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late William M. and Anna (Reitz) Speney.  Frank was a fixture in the automotive industry in the area as a consummate and professional salesman, starting his career with his father at the Palace Garage in McKeesport, selling Nash, Rambler, and Studebaker.  He then opened Speney Chevrolet in West Newton, operating it for 52 years from 1958 until 2010.  He also became a co-owner of the Palisades Ballroom in McKeesport, where he was able to practice one of his passions: dancing.
