Katherine “Katie” Richel, 92, of Glassport, formerly of Port Vue & Liberty Boro, passed away at Southwestern Nursing Home in West Mifflin on Thursday July 27, 2017. She was born April 29, 1924 in McKeesport to the late Paul and Bertha Tkatch. Katherine was the loving wife, for 52 years, of James Harry Richel who passed away in 1983. She is survived by daughter, Marjorie Deliman of Glassport; son, James Richel of Glassport; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Katherine was preceded in death by sisters, Ann & Elizabeth and brothers, Paul & Mike. Irene “Rene” Austin, 91, longtime resident of Glassport, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2017 at Overlook Green Personal Care Home in Whitehall. She was born April 22, 1926 in Rankin to the late Michael and Annie Siri Yobak. Irene was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles W. Austin who passed away in 2007. She is survived by children, Deborah (Rege) Ford of North Strabane, Chuck (Tracey) Austin of North Huntingdon, Cheryl Austin of Highland Park, and Jim (Laurie) Austin of Elizabeth. Irene was the proud grandmother to grandsons, Patrick (Kara) Ford, Matthew Ford, Joel Austin, Jordan Austin, Seth Austin and Grant Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy (Dan) Justice of Ft. Washington, MD and dog Sari. Along with her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Yobak, Ann Veronick; and brother Andrew Yobak. She was an avid reader, loved spending time with her late husband at Playland Campgrounds in Cochranton, enjoyed fishing for walleye and bass at Tamarack Lake, and enjoyed playing cards. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Judes Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N Linden St, Duquesne, PA 15110. Rita Mae Campbell, age 81 of Dravosburg, died July 24, 2017 at Charles Morris Nursing and Rehabilitation in Squirrel Hill. Born May 22, 1936 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Mackinac) Winkelvoss. She is survived by her children, Vikki Campbell of Irwin, Tim (Gail) Campbell of North Huntingdon and Chris (Mark Young) Campbell of Davenport, FL; former husband, Donald A. Campbell; grandchildren, Evan Campbell, Angel Campbell-Young and Timmy Campbell-Young; siblings, Albert Winkelvoss of Atlanta, GA, George (Laurie) Winkelvoss of Canonsburg and Valerie (Richard) Traumer of Woodbridge Court, CT. Rita's most memorable and cherished moments were those spent with family, friends and her beloved Indian Ringneck Parakeet, Sweet Pea. She was very talented and creative and enjoyed time in her craft room making personal gifts and mementos for those she loved. Rita enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, and was an active member of Lifespan Senior Citizen Center in McKeesport. Lana Jean Maldonado LLoyd, age 75, of McKeesport, died July 22, 2017, at Riverside Nursing Center. Born June 4, 1942, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hilda (Daugherty) Pack and the wife of the late Kenneth E. Lloyd and she is survived by her first husband, Thomas David Maldonado, Sr., Lana was retired from the Central Blood Bank, located in Pittsburgh. She also worked as an in home care giver throughout her life. She received an Associates Degree, from the Duff's Business Institute, where she studied to become a medical assistant. She enjoyed picnics, visiting parks, watching movies, music and dancing. Lana's true love was spending time with her family. In addition to her first husband Thomas, she is survived by sons, Albert (Lori Jean) Maldonado of Monongahela and Thomas David (Melissa) Maldonado of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren, Sommer and Kyra Maldonado and Hailey Hapchuck; also nieces and nephews, Scott and Audra Wisser, Lanny and James Pack and Terry (Tom) Pack Price. In addition to her parents and husband, Lana was preceded in death by her siblings, Karen Wisser, Sally and Patty Pack and James Pack.

Jean Frances Osborne, 86, formerly of West Mifflin and Laughlintown, died Thursday, July 20, 2017. She was born Nov. 9, 1930, daughter of the late Katherine Marie (Kilger) Anastasiu and Merle Dwight Osborne, and stepdaughter of the late George "Pop" Anastasiu. She was predeceased by brothers, Harry Osborne, and George and Melvin Anastasiu; her sister, Lois Johnston; a grandson, Justin Bruce Chervenak; a stepgrandson, Bill Prettiman; and a godchild, Mike Speney. She was the former wife of the late George Chervenak; and widow of Matthew Wargovich, of Laughlintown. She is survived by her three loving children, Bruce (Roxanne) Chervenak, Brad John Chervenak, and Jean Marie (John) Fecho; grandchildren, Beth Ann (Eric) Gumbert, and Aleda Marie Fecho; stepchildren, Maria, Patti and Theresa, and their spouses. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Loretta Osborne and Kathleen Anastasiu; nephew, Eric (Geri) Osborne; nieces, Kathleen Osborne (Richard) Bednarz and Chris Chervenak, of West Mifflin, and Jean's dear godchild, Karen Bisi. In her younger years, she loved to cook, sew, bake and paint. She also worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone for 19 years, and more recently, as a funeral home receptionist and hostess. She was a proud member of McKeesport High School Class of 1948. Her Catholic faith sustained her and brought her joy.

Tiffany Ann Carloss, age 44, of McKeesport, died on July 21, 2017. She was born in McKeesport on September 5, 1972 and is the daughter of James (Peggy Bajuscik) and the late Carol Ann Anthony Carloss. She was the granddaughter of the late James C. and Dorothy F. Raible Carloss and Tony George and Josephine Bosco Anthony. A graduate of McKeesport Area High School class of 1990, a member and past worthy advisor of Rainbow Girls Old Glory Assembly and she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Duquesne University in 1995. She previously was employed as a switchboard operator for the City of McKeesport for over 15 years. Her constant companion for many, many years was 96.9 Bob FM, Pittsburgh which played day and night. Her favorite song in the whole world was “Life’s Been Good To Me So Far” by Joe Walsh.
In addition to her father and Peggy, she is also survived by her sister Tracy Ann Carloss and husband John “Chris” Begley of Brunswick, Ohio, niece and Goddaughter Camille Carolyn Begley and her beloved cat, Suzie Q.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday July 25th from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8pm.
