Mildred Jean "Midge" Jefferis, 86, of Greenock, died Saturday June 24, 2017. She was born February 22, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John and Edna Mann Adams. She was the wife of the late William Edward Jefferis who died in 1967. She was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She had worked for the Elizabeth Forward School District and Duquesne Light Co. She is survived by her sons, The Rev. John K. (Elise) Jefferis of Oakmont, and Keith W. Jefferis of Greenock, daughter, Jaime Lynn (Brad) Hunt of Richmond, VA, grandchildren, Adam and Jacob Jefferis and Tyler and Megan Hunt, great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, William, Henry and Fitz Jefferis,  sister-in-law, Lois Adams of Greenock, and nephews.

William A. "Bill" Balogh, 92, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Saturday June 24, 2017. He was born May 14, 1925 in McKeesport and was the youngest of three sons of the late Gabor and Mary Szekely Balogh. Bill was a lifelong member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church n McKeesport and served as a church elder for 20 years. This is where he met his future wife, Irene Orosz. They married on June 19, 1948 in McKeesport. Irene passed away on October 19, 2011. They were married for 63 years.He was a dedicated and loving caretaker for Irene in the last years of her life. Bill was a 57 member of Stephen Bayard Lodge 526 F & AM, and served as Worshipful Master and Treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic Veterans, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, McKeesport Forest, and was also a 32 degree Mason with the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Pittsburgh .

He is survived by is daughter Kristen (Raymond) Schrello of Pleasant Hills; grandchildren Raymond and Tyler Schrello; sisters Tracy Harris and Joni Shorten; also nieces and nephews.  David was retired from National Tube and was a member of St. Michael's Church in McKeesport.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport Wed. 10:00 am to Noon, at which time a funeral blessing will be held with Father George Patrick.  Interment following Round Hill Cemetery.

She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. and a former member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play cards. Born August 19, 1927 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Zaken) Zaken and wife of the late Victor Spernak. She is survived by her sons, Dennis "Fuzzy" (Terry) Spernak of Mt. Lebanon, Joseph Spernak, Victor Spernak of Blaine Hill, and Ron "Flat" Spernak of Forward Twp.; sisters, Janet Rethage of Elizabeth Twp. and Anna May Janicki of Ormand Beach, FL; devoted granddaughters, Stephanie, Ashley and Emily Spernak; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6-8 PM and Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 9:30 AM in St. Michael Parish with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela.

She is survived by her children; Richard (Charlene) Dean of McKeesport, Carol “Sissy” (William) Kengle of North Huntingdon, David (Kelly) Dean of Port Vue and Brian Dean of McKeesport; grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Julia, Melissa, Michelle, Shelby, Krystal, Justin and Parker; great grandchildren, Dru, Spencer, Amelia, Nicholie, Benjamin, Isabelle, Eli, Ella, Arianna, Peyton and Liam; Brother, Frank A. (Cheryl) Sedlmayer of Versailles Borough; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Glen Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Edward O.L. Redbird “Sonny” Hale, III, age 63, of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a former pile driver with the carpenters union, a tribal member of the MHA Nation in New Town, North Dakota and a bundle carrier, three clan. He was a founding member of the Pittsburgh American Indian Center working with families and children to teach the Native American culture. He was a 1971 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School where he was a standout football player, eventually receiving a scholarship to North Carolina State. Sonny enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and also enjoyed riding bulls, horses, bareback and breaking wild horses.

Born April 15, 1920 in Wilmerding, she was the daughter of the late William and Sadie (Pricener) Berkoben and the wife of the late Robert Paul Kreahling, Sr. Nelda was a member of the St. Angela Merici Church. She was very active with the local AARP and enjoyed coordinating tours for many years. She also loved to bowl and play cards. Nelda is survived by her children, Robert Paul "Skip" (Sue) Kreahling, Jr. of Booth Bay Harbor, ME, Marian Jean "Sue" (John) Himes of Carlisle, PA; nephew, Craig (Melissa) Borst of Upper St. Clair; grandchildren, Gretchen (John) McKay of Abbotstown, PA, Kathleen (Marc) Miller of Blackwater, MI, Jay (Patricica) Himes of Carlisle, Peter (Mary) Himes of Chicago IL.; great- grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Kayla Marie Miller, Galen and Quentin Himes, Henry and Charles Himes; sister, Laverne Borst of Sarasota, FL; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Nelda was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, William, and Wayne Berkoben.  Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 10 a.m., at St. Angela Merici Church. Father Kevin J. Dominik will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow in the New St. Joseph Mausoleum.
