James A. DiBattista, Sr., age 72 of North Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died July 17, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born January 28, 1945 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Dominic and Connie (DiMucci) DiBattista, and loving husband of Kerry (Hitchens) DiBattista. James was a graduate of McKeesport High School and later went on to work and retire from General Electric as a winder. He was also an active member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church. His greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren. He loved attending all of their games and events and was truly the best Pap in the world. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James A. (Cami) DiBattista, Jr. of North Huntingdon, William J. DiBattista of Pittsburgh, Tisa (Michael) Giunta of Pittsburgh, Amber (Shane) Lawson of Port Vue and Jenna (Raymond) Whitney of Liberty Borough; grandchildren, Olivia DiBattista, Spencer Lawson, Kennedy Lawson, Maria Giunta, Nicholas Giunta and John Giunta; sister, Donna (Jack) Steiner of North Huntingdon; nieces, Dena (Richard) Ciccarelli and Jayme (William) King; also great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Port Vue United Methodist Church, 1565 Washington Blvd, McKeesport, PA 15133. George Branick, Jr., age 87, of Tenth Ward, died July 15, 2017, at home. Born August 18, 1929, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Kanca) Branick and the husband of the late Elizabeth (Sesek) Branick. George retired from US Steel, where he was a machinist. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post #447. He was a volunteer at John J. Kane Regional Center, in McKeesport, for over 25 years. George enjoyed fishing and loved his pets.
He is survived by a nephew, Edward (Rebecca) Jones of Port Vue; nieces, Sandra Garman of Arizona and Bernie Jones of McKeesport; 5 great nieces; great great nieces.

Margaret A. Clapie, age 81, of White Oak, died July 15, 2017, at UPMC McKeesport. Born August 10, 1935, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Don E. and Annie (Dickson) Clapie.
Margaret retired from the Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health Service Mhmr. She also worked for the G.C. Murphy Co. home office, in her early years. She was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Margaret was also a member of SMERFS, which was formed from the former G.C. Murphy Co. employees. Margaret’s true love was enjoying the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Edna (Samuel) Reitz of White Oak; nephew; Samuel (Darlene) Reitz, Jr., of North Huntingdon , niece, Cheri (Nickolas) Ionadi of Elizabeth Twp.; nephew, William R. “Rick” Clapie of Sharpsville; great nieces and great nephews, Nicole and Caitlin Ionadi, Ashley (Harrison) Hamill and Samuel Reitz, III, Julia Clapie and Ashley Clapie. In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by a brother, William Clapie. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Cheryl D. Hanko, age 59, of White Oak, died July 5, 2017, at Family Hospice in Elizabeth. Born June 27, 1958, she was the daughter of John and Shirley (Flading) Hanko.
Cheryl was a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Church and presented the gifts at Mass. She loved to travel and visited much of the United States and Mexico. She enjoyed airplane rides, word puzzles and especially dancing. A member of MYARC, she bowled on MYARC’s Bowling League. Cheryl had great determination; she was a fine swimmer, successful in her 30 year employment at Mon-Yough Community Services and a 1979 graduate of McKeesport’s Special Education Program. Most of all, her life brought joy to her parents, and her pretty smile will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

Rosemary P. Axmacher, age 68 of McKeesport, died June 28, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born September 8, 1948 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John, Sr. and Betty Louise (Bartko) Pintye. Rose was an employee for McKeesport Hospital where she worked as a kitchen aid for 30 years. Alice M. Dean, age 74, of McKeesport, died June 24, 2017, at UPMC McKeesport. Born July 27, 1942, in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Antonia (Adams) Sedlmayer and the wife of the late Alfred R. Dean. Alice dedicated her life to caring for her family. Grace Marie Gesing Ernst, age 77 of McKeesport, formerly of Oil City, died June 16, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born February 11, 1940 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Mary (Savage) Tamblyn. Grace spent her time as a hairdresser in both McKeesport and Oil City, and was a florist at Giant Eagle Kennywood. She was a faithful and long-time member of St. Patrick Church in Christy Park. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Sharon) Riley; grandson, David (Christi); two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Finnagan; sisters, Mary Lou Savage and Joann (Jim) Phillips; nieces and nephews, Deborah and Jason Kuntz, Michelle (Gregg) Bendel, Amy Jo (Bob) Edkins, and Robert (Stephanie) Phillips; great-nieces and nephews, Shawn Deverse, Cody Shotwell, Hannah Bendel, Olivia Edkins, Gavin Edkins, Zachary Phillips, and Ella Phillips; and Rubi Garcia Choque who Grace lovingly sponsored through the church. Sharilyn "Shari" E. Lang, age 64 of Port Vue, died June 14, 2017 at her home. Born February 9, 1953 in Manchester, England, she was the daughter of the late William and Eunice (Warrender) Woodworth, and loving wife of Duane Lang for 44 years. Shari was a faithful member of the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration in Elizabeth Township and enjoyed dedicating her time to the church and her church family. In her earlier years she worked for Home Interiors and later went on to work for the family business as the office manager and notary for Hadad Motor Sales. Shari was also highly active in various PTA's. In her free time, she loved to go on camping trips with Duane and her family, and her amazing cooking for her family and events they attended will be missed by many. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sharina (Larry) Kohlhoff of North Versailles; grandchildren, Racheal, Crystal, Lauren, and Katelyn Kohlhoff; siblings, Renae (Larry) Moore of St. Louis, MO, William "Woody" (Janie) Woodworth of McKeesport, and Timothy (Jessica) Woodworth of St. Louis, MO; brothers-in-law, John (Sharon) Lang and Chuck Hadad; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Brian and David Woodworth. Dorothy B. Reed, age 88 of The Palms at O’Neil, formerly of Port Vue, died June 6, 2017. Born October 6, 1928 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Louis D. and Margaret (Griffin) Breitinger, and loving wife of the late Allen Reed. Dorothy was a graduate of Clairton High School, and later went on to receive her degree from Robert Morris College. She began her career in the financial and accounting industry, working for G.C. Murphy Home Office in McKeesport, Cox’s in McKeesport, and later worked for Mr. Michael Miklos. She was a long time member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church, the Port Vue Women’s Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star. In her free time, she loved going to the library and reading novels. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her husband traveling the world on cruise ships. She is survived by her two sons, Garry Reed and Craig Reed, both of Port Vue. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her faithful dog, Cookie. Arlene Marie Dellapenna, age 71, of McKeesport, died June 2, 2017 at home with her family by her side. Born November 21, 1945, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Norma (Schweikert) Angotti and the wife of the late Richard Dellapenna, for over 47 years of marriage. Arlene was a retired school crossing guard with the McKeesport Area School District, and she was also a beautician in her early years. She was a great cook and truly enjoyed working with her husband Richard selling ice cream, as they were the owners of Dell’s Dessert Hut. You could find the two of them working together at Renzie Park and each year at International Village. She was a member of the former Riverview Baptist Church and more recently was a member of the Word of Life Church in Greensburg. Arlene dedicated her life to caring for her family and she adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Geneine (Louis) Dellapenna – Garancsi and Richard J. (Amy) Dellapenna both of Mckeesport; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicole and Cody; great granddaughter, Arabella Marie Dellapenna; siblings, Jonette (Robert) Edkins of Pleasant Hills and Jerry (Nancy) Angotti of Clairton; many nieces and nephews.
