Eugene W. Gould, age 87 of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Whitehall.  Born May 4, 1935 in Seattle, WA, he was a son of the late Eugene and Margaret (Ellis) Gould.  A member of St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport and a department manager for WalMart for many years, he was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.  Eugene is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia (Young) Gould; his children John (Jennifer) Gould of Commerce, GA, Theresa (Tim) Skelly of Fayetteville, NC, Stephanie Pollock (Jonathan) of McKeesport, and Frank Gould of McKeesport; his son-in-law Michael; his grandchildren Zamblen Krisciunas, Sebastian, Bella, Jackson and Spencer Gould, Tristin Skelly, Christine (Will) and Kimberly (Alec) Lopiccolo, and Tim Cooke, his great-granddaughter Zoey; his sister Helen Neff; his brothers Del (Patty) and David O'Connell and Dennis (Janette) Gould; and also nieces and nephews.

Katherine "Kay" A. (Kercell) Pack

Katherine “Kay” (Kercell) Pack, age 100 of Greenock, died Monday, February 20, 2023 in John J. Kane Regional Center, McKeesport.  Born October 16, 1922 in Creslo, she was a daughter of the late Evan and Amelia (Thomas) Kercell.  Kay worked for the former Sabin China, A.B. Murray Co., and Macy’s and was always active as a volunteer and good friend.  She is a member of CFU Lodge # 146 of Versailles, and its Ladies' and Pensioneers’ Clubs.  Widow of James A. Pack, who died May 12, 1988, she was also preceded in death by her brothers George (Frances) and Edward (Doris) Kercell.  Kay  is survived by her sister Josie Kercell and her brother William Kercell; her nieces Linda Mennen and Beth Ann Fechusak; her nephews Kevin, David, and Steven Kercell; as well as many great nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Veronica H. Bodnar, age 79, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Riverside Care Center. Born in McKeesport on December 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rusnak) Bodnar. She was a member  of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, enjoyed going to bingos, and loved her dog “Jake.” She is predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters and is survived by nieces and nephews. Penny A. Naspinsky, age 75, of West Mifflin, died February 19, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born February 9, 1948, in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert Strawn and Elsie (Kauffmann) Adams and the wife of the late Casimer A. Naspinsky.
Penny was a retired administrative assistant and worked for many Pittsburgh-based law firms. She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church. Penny loved to express herself through the art of coloring.

James E. Pietraszewski, age 87, of Clairton, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a janitor from Western Center in Canonsburg and was a former process technician at Westinghouse and KRW in Madison. He was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross, St. Clare in Clairton, and a life member of Blaine Hill and Jefferson 885 volunteer fire companies. He liked music, cooking family recipes, and looked forward to joining his wife Susan in Heaven. Born July 23, 1935, in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Hoinacka) Pietraszewski and husband of the late Susan M. (Livingston) Pietraszewski. He is survived by daughters, Marie T. Pietraszewski of Ross Twp. and Nancy B. (David) Kurutz of Dawson; grandson William James (Marissa Harris) Kurutz of Dawson; sisters-in-law, Lucy Pietershanski, Mary Anne (Orrin) Butterfield and Clare (the late Frank) Pokorny; brothers-in-law, Clifford (Marcia), John (Roseann) and Richard (Patti) Livingston; also, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Sue Similo, William Pietershanski, Martha Pietraszewski, John Pietraszewski and Helen Cerminara. No visitation or services are planned. A combined Celebration of Life for Jim and Sue is being planned for late spring. George Vuckovich

George Vuckovich, 88, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born April 29, 1934 in Clairton and was the son of the late Gajo and Mary (Dobrich) Vuckovich.  He was the husband of the late Marcella "Marcy" (Lowicki) Vuckovich, who passed away March 12, 2019. George was a member of Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Pleasant Hills, a member of the former St. Mary Serbian Orthodox Church in Clairton and also, attended St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. He worked for over 40 years in the tool and dye department of Fisher Body for General Motors.   He was an avid reader, enjoyed a good glass of red wine and absolutely loved playing Solitaire on the computer.  He also loved to watch movies and shows on the hallmark channel.  He will be greatly missed.

Adrasto "Poor George" Casoni, Sr., 68, of Sutersville, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 6, 1954 in West Newton and was the son of Janet (Nuttall) Vargo of North Charleroi, Carol Casoni of Sutersville and the late Adrasto "June Bug" Casoni, Jr. George was the Proprietor of George's Auto Service and Partner of Casoni Bowling Lanes in Sutersville. He was a member of the WMBU, Sutersville Moose, Sutersville Fire Co and the Buena Vista Fire Hall. George was a former member of the West Newton Sportsmen's Club and the Sutersville Council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. He had a great sense of humor and was well known for his BBQ and Beef Sticks. His house and garage were a local hang out where food and drink were always available.

Louis J. Knapp, 93, of North Versailles, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was born March 10, 1929 in North Braddock a son of the late Louis W. and Mary (Vercelli) Knapp. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Dolores J. Knapp, and brother William Knapp. Louis was a Navy veteran and a member of Plum Creek Masonic Lodge #799. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp. He loved his family and spending time with them was important to him. Louis is survived by his children Linda L. (Domenico) DeMarco and Dean A. Knapp; grandchildren Dina (Luigi) Tommasino, Jamie (Michael) Chiappetta, and Loren (Nick) Buchheit; great grandchildren Marco, Serena, Luca, and Lainy; his brother Donald Knapp; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. Charles Vernet “Fish” Coddington, Jr., 62 of McKeesport, formerly of Glassport, passed away on Sunday, February 19th, 2023, at McKeesport Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh on September 3rd, 1960, to the late Charles V. and Harriet Coddington, Sr. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Kosowski of McKeesport, son Garrett Sainiak of Glassport, stepchildren Emerald Hanus of Elizabeth, Daniel Williams of Baldwin, and Zack Williams of Elizabeth, as well as his former spouse Robin Coddington of Arkansas. Additional survivors include granddaughter Gianna Rose, as well as brothers and sisters and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife Tracy Coddington. He enjoyed gardening, boating, and fishing. He was employed by Waste Management for 15 years as a roll off driver. Charles also proudly owned his own roofing company, Tri-County Roofing. He was born June 6, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Kuzma) Knezovich.  John was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKeesport. He worked various jobs prior to his retirement including, being a former financial controller for McKeesport Hospital, Jefferson Hospital and the City of McKeesport, as well as being a Chief Operating Officer for Better's Demolition and for the former Universal Service Technologies, Inc. John loved his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events. He was known to have a huge network of friends and family and was known as "Fever" for his Karaoke skills. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.

He had achieved an Associate's Degree at Triangle Tech & used it to work for US Steel; at Mon Valley Works and Irvin works, he worked and retired as a steelworker. He was a member of USS Local 2227 and a member of the White Oak Legion for 45 years.

Working as a Physical Therapy Aide and eventually as an Administrative Assistant for the therapy team, Maureen retired from those many years at Jefferson Hospital. She was raised Catholic and has been a member of Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish - St. Mark's for a long time. She enjoyed gardening, and watching and feeding the birds, but most importantly, spending time with her family and attending her grandkids sporting events as their #1 fan.
