Edward J. Vojtek, age 89 of West Mifflin, died Saturday, January 20, 2018. He was born in McKeesport, the son of the late John and Agnes Vojtek, Sr., and husband of the late Phyllis Gray Vojtek. Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He worked as a press operator for GM in West Mifflin until his retirement. Edward loved hunting, was an avid trap shooter and belonged to several gun clubs. He is survived by his daughter Donna (John) Nixon of Mansfield, Ohio, granddaughter Erin (Dean) Pontikos of Brecksville, Ohio, 2 great grandsons, William and Johnny, and brother Albert (Martha) Vojtek of Fort Gratoit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his brother John Jr., and sister Emma Mehalik.

George Abraham Lucky, age 86 of White Oak, died Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born in Flat, Texas on February 18, 1932, the son of the late David and Florence Posey Lucky. George served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War and worked as an engineer for Westinghouse until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701 and loved working with computers.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Angel Ann Kliment Gormley and daughters, Alexis Raine Gormley and Piper Willow Gormley. He was born April 14, 1945 in Clairton to the late Roy and Mary Pholar Nordine. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews, and his close friends Linda and Clyde “Butch”. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mary Nordine, his brothers; Roy Nordine, Conrad Nordine, and John Nordine, and sisters Carole Shaffer and Vivian Kerekes. Sylvina “Vina” J. March, 81, of Glassport died Saturday February 17, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Hazel Murray. Vina is survived by her children Jamie (Paul) Trunzo of Glassport, PA, Sharon (Karen) Miller of Lexington, TN, and John (Susan) Miller of Waterford, PA; sister Martha Miller of Waterford, PA; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James R. March, and siblings Alma Gur, James Murray, Gene Murray, and Jack Murray. She enjoyed spending time in Bedford, casino trips, bingo, and she was an active participant in her community. Her proudest accomplishment was the revitalization of the Glassport Senior Center. She was a social member of the Glassport Sons of Italy, Chair of Trustees of Glassport United Methodist Church, Director of Glassport Senior Citizen Center, and owner of the former Vina’s Cleaners in Glassport. Friends will be received Monday from 2-8pm at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A blessing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday morning 10am with Pastor Hal Dangel, interment following Round Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glassport Senior Citizens Center.

George H. Kessler, 76, of McKeesport, formerly of Lincoln Place, passed away on Thursday, February 15th 2018 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh on December 19, 1941 to the late William R. and Margaret E. Haser Kessler. George is survived by siblings; Robert Kessler of McKeesport, Lauretta Gardner of Lincoln Place, and Edward Kessler of California. “Uncle George” is also survived by his many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Margaret Kessler, and brother William Kessler. George proudly served in the U.S. Army, was an avid gun enthusiast, and a lover of all animals. RICHARD PHILLIP “RICKY” FALCHETTI age 66, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration H.J. Heinz Community Living Center on February 14, 2018. He lived and worked most of his life in the Duquesne area, including working at US Steel Duquesne Works, primary mill. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a National Defense Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was diagnosed with ALS in early 2017 and fought this terrible disease at home with the help of family members, friends, and as the disease progressed, his care was continued by loving and caring people at the VA. He was a son of the late Louise Rose (Consiglio) Falchetti. He is survived by his father, Richard L. Falchetti; brothers, Mark (Rosemarie), Byron and Keith (Mary Anne); and sister, Carmela; and special friend, Paulette Barry. He loved his nieces, Alyssa, Liana, Julia, Maria, Brittnie, Paige and Anziana; and great-nieces, Hailey and Natalie; and his aunt, Pat, in Kentucky; also cousins. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. where Military Honors will be rendered. The family extends its special gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers, volunteers and community members and fellow veterans at the H.J. Heinz VA Living Center Unit 3A. IRENE E. POLLAK age 88, of West Mifflin, on February 15, 2018, at the home of her daughter. Irene was a member of St. Joseph Church and their Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild. She was the first participant of Community Life in McKeesport and cut the ribbon at their grand opening where she spent countless hours. She played the ukulele and enjoyed arts and crafts and polka parties. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Tankovits) Basista. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Pollak; mother of Joseph (Carole) Pollak of West Mifflin, Debbie (Jimbo) Kopay, with whom she resided, Vicki (Terry) Davis of Westmoreland City and the late Kenneth Pollak. She was the grandmother of Jon Spiewak, Jessie (Jay) Kopay, Joey (Jim) Sapp, Misty (Dave) DeRiggi, Natalie (Tony) Leber, Kenny (Julie) Pollak; great- grandmother of Desiree, Keirston, Madelyn, Skyler, Trinity, Rocco, Austin, Anthony, Mia, Avery and KJ; stepsister of Frank Basista of Florida.
