Betty Joan Keenan, age 85, of White Oak, died Sept. 22, 2018, at her home. The daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Toth) Davis, she was the wife of 62 years of Robert P. Keenan.
Betty was a retiree of the McKeesport Hospital Foundation and, earlier in life, was employed by G.C. Murphy Co., in McKeesport. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, in White Oak. Betty's life centered around her love for family and compassion for all of God's creatures. Throughout the years, she and Bob, Todd and Dan would make trips up and down the East Coast, everywhere from Deep Creek to the beaches of Florida. These special times spent together, in search of adventure, are etched in their memory. Later, when Betty's mother became ill, Betty provided a decade of care to make her mother's last years valuable. As for God's creatures, many might remember Renzie Park's cat lady- that was Betty. Not only did she feed over 50 abandoned and stray cats, she had many of them neutered and arranged for their health care. Some of those cats mysteriously found their way to Betty's home, and naturally had to be adopted. The wonderful life that her husband, sons and pets enjoyed, even the house design itself, were all Betty's loving creations.
In addition to her husband, survivors include sons, Todd, who helped care for his mother at home, and Dan (Laura), of Lexington, S.C.; granddaughters, Kelly and Brianna and great grandson, Gabriel. Betty was preceded in death by brother, Robert Davis.
