Irene D. Bruner, age 92 of North Versailles, died Monday, June 25, 2018. She was born March 29, 1926 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary M. Slebodnick Olszewski.

Irene is survived by four sons, Randy of North Versailles, Russell of Castle Shannon, Robert (Carolyn) of Greensburg, and Richard (Judy) of West Mifflin; grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, and Athena; great grandchildren, Jordan, Draven, Tyler, Callie, and Landon, and brother Thomas Olszewski of Indiana, PA. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and the Christian mothers, an avid bowler, full time mother of four boys, and an excellent cook and baker.

Frederick William "Bud" Hecker, Jr., 86, of White Oak,died Monday, June 25, 2018. Bud was born April 23, 1932 in Donora and was the son of the late Fred and Ida Mae (Neff) Hecker. Bud was a graduate of Grove City College after serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He would then go on to be employed for 31 years at Alco as Chemical Engineer and be an active member at St. Angela Merici Church, White Oak. In retirement, he and his wife lived in Naples, Florida and later in Celebration, Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Eleanor R. (Andrejcak) Hecker, step-daughter, Debra (Dale) Anlauf of North Huntingdon, step-son, Michael Gary (Randi) Macosko of Henderson, NV, daughter, Suzanne (Philip) Johnson of California, sons, Tom (Barbie) Hecker of Colorado, and Jim (Cindy) Hecker, of New Holland, PA, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Louis Gerald Argus, Sr., 90, of Buena Vista, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was born July 7, 1927 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Mehalek) Argus. He was the husband of the late Ida May (Higby) Argus who died June 4, 2012. He retired from the former D & D Electronics in Braddock and was a member of the Buena Vista Fire Co Social Club and the Croatian Club in Versailles. Louis was a US Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. For his service he received the WWII Victory Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

She was born June 11, 1940 in Glassport, a daughter of the late Clyde and Pearl (Schumann) Jones and was also preceded in death by her son Robert A. Montgomery Jr. and brothers Bob and Jack Jones. She was a cake decorator for Shrader’s Dairy Queen, Jeannette and was active with Compassionate Friends, the Herminie Senior Center, and McKenna Senior Center. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her family was most important to her and she made the best apple pies. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert A. Montgomery; her children Jane Dunklebarger of York, Deanne (Steven) Rymarowicz of North Huntingdon, Dawn (Kevin) Brophy of Sayreville, NJ, and Todd (Joy) Montgomery of Greensburg; her former daughter in law Susan Hesse of MD; her grandchildren Lauren Felter, David (Evelyn) McCulloch, John (Cori) McCulloch, Jared Dunklebarger, Ryan Brophy, Jacob Dunklebarger, Todd Montgomery Jr., Conor Brophy, Carissa Brophy, Bradley Montgomery, Nicholas Montgomery, and Joelle Montgomery; and her great grandchildren Haley, Karissa, Elaina, Ava, Alexa, Damien, and Maximus.

He retired after 40 years as a steelworker for U.S. Steel Irvin Works in West Mifflin. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth and an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was born and raised in Donora and his final residence was Elizabeth. He had a passion for gardening and decorating his house all year long, especially at Christmas where he raised money for Children's Hospital.

Edward Locke “Ted” Kemp, Jr. died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he will be deeply missed.  Until his last month, he lived a dynamic, gregarious and driven life.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 17, 1932, he was the son of Edward Locke “Ted” and Carol Virginia (Hemington) Kemp.  Ted was first raised in Tenth Ward of McKeesport, PA, then West Mifflin. He was an Eagle Scout.  He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1950.  Afterward, he attended Bethany College where he was a member of the fraternity, Beta Theta Pi. There, he met his beloved wife and life-long partner, Barbara.

In 1970, Ted was Cofounder and President of Elk Air Conditioning, Inc.  Ted was an entrepreneur who always enjoyed talking and telling stories with many people in construction and related businesses while working to deliver quality products and services.  He served a term as president of the Pittsburgh chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.  He also served on the Boards of McKeesport- Versailles Cemetery and White Oak Borough Water Authority. Ted’s many memberships included McKeesport Jaycees, McKeesport Rotary and First Methodist Church of McKeesport.

Ted loved to travel and seek adventures, he also was active and dynamic in many sports and hobbies. He was an avid sailor, biker, and croquet player. Deep Creek Lake Yacht Club was a center of his life where he had numerous friends and served a term as Commodore.  At the time of his death, he was a resident of Sarasota, FL.  Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Acker), children Ralph (Donna Hansen) of Pittsburgh, PA, Ed Kemp (Alice) of North Huntingdon, PA, and Margaret “Maggie” Kemp (Bernie Rosen) of Lempster, NH;  grandchildren Ryan (Molly), Hannah, Merinda, Jonathan, Phillip Rosen, Erin Rosen, Tara, Kasey; great-grandchildren Tailynn and Raylee, brother Peter Kemp, sister Carol Nill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Hunter Funeral Home at 1600 Coursin St., McKeesport, PA 15132 on Thursday and Friday, June 28 and 29, from 2-4 and 6-8.  Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 3 at 10:00 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 5234 Rte. 135, Deer Park, MD, 21550: with the Reverend Dr Chip Lee officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, 600 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA, 15222, or Brother’s Brother Foundation, 1200 Galveston Ave., Pittsburgh, PA  15233.

Louise Mabel Sherer, age 95, died peacefully at the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, PA on June 18, 2018.  She is the daughter of Olof and Annie (Anderson) Sundin.  Louise was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Sherer. Surviving children are William Vincent Sherer, Carol Ann de la Mora, and Timothy Olof Sherer. Louise was a loving mother, energetic and hardworking.  She exemplified the best traits of the “Greatest Generation.”  She worked as a maid, a waitress, a tin flipper in a Pittsburgh area mill during World War II, part owner of a furniture making company in Oregon, part owner of a oil distribution company in Bandon, Oregon, part owner of Sherer’s Dairy Store in Mount Vernon, PA, book keeper for various companies including Tygart Steel in McKeesport, PA, and a realtor.  Louise worked into her late 70s.  She loved to travel, making numerous trips to European destinations and living in Guadalajara Mexico with her daughter for a year. A memorial service for Louise will be held at noon on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church Street Ligonier, PA.

Lois (Bird) Bonadio of Elizabeth Township passed quietly June 20 at the age of 90 in her home. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 68 years, Frank L.  Bonadio,  formerly of Glassport. She was born February 11, 1928 in Jeannette,  the only daughter of J. William IV and Beatrice Durst Bird.  She graduated from Jeannette High School then trained as an RN in the U.S. Cadet Corps in the School of Nursing at McKeesport Hospital where she worked in the ER until 1951 and was a member of the School of Nursing Alumni Association.  She was also a member of the Elizabeth Twp. Seniors and attended St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. Lois was a pianist, enjoyed traveling, word puzzles, games, and was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan. Her greatest love was her family -- sons Blane (Susan)  of Zelienople, Kent (Kathy) of Penn Trafford, and daughter Joyce (Randy) McDonald of White Oak; her nine grandchildren - David of Lititz, Elizabeth (Brian) of Pleasant Hills, Wesley (Anne) of Athens, OH, Ryan  (Missy) McDonald of Westmoreland City, Derek (Melanie) serving in Rota, Spain, Christopher (Jeannine) of Scott Twp., Michael (Liana) of Marietta, OH, Tyler (Chris March) of Oakland, and her beloved Kevin who passed in 2014 at the age of 25.
