James J. “Jim” Fedorka, 68, of Glassport died August 30, 2019. He is the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Danko) Fedorko. Husband of Cindy (Laughlin) Fedorko. He is survived by his children Carrie Nesbitt of Champion PA, and Kenneth Nesbitt of Plum Boro PA; sisters Mary Margaret Mellinger of Belle Vernon, Sue Ellen Fedorka of Glassport; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son James Nesbitt. He was a lifetime volunteer fireman in Glassport #2 Hose Co. Friends received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A funeral blessing will he held Tuesday 11am at the funeral home. Interment following New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Helen Uhrin passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 at the age of 91 in North Huntingdon. Born in McKeesport, March 25, 1928, she was the daughter of Phillip and Mary (Lacey) Riley. She was a lifelong resident of the McKeesport area, spent many years in Versailles Borough, and co-owned Eddie’s TV with her late husband, Ed, who passed away May 31, 2006. She enjoyed spending time with family and many friends and living life according to one of her favorite saying: “If you’re not fun, don’t come.”

Marlene M. O’Toole, age 83, of N. Versailles, formerly of West Mifflin, died Friday, August 30, 2019. She was born in Homestead, PA on July 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret Gretz Novacek and the wife of the late Lawrence “Larry” E. O’Toole. Marlene worked alongside her husband at their printing company, O’Toole Printing.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine “Crissy” Regan of McKeesport; sons, Lawrence (Kyrie) O’Toole of North Versailles and David (Tammy Zora) O’Toole of McKeesport; grandchildren, Alec Regan, Amanda O’Toole, and Kelsey O’Toole; brother, Stephen (Linda) Novacek, Jr. of West Mifflin; sisters, Rita (John) Chergi of South Park, PA and Kathleen (the late Walter) Howden of Washington, PA.

Robert Rose, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at UPMC East. He was born September 23, 1928 in Larimer, PA. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a lineman for Bell Telephone. He enjoyed model trains, antique cars and was a member of a drum and bugle corps. Bob was preceded in death by his grandson, Tony Alcott. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Warren Rose; sons, Robert Alcott and his wife, Rhonda and Alan Alcott; grandchildren, Robert Alcott and his fiancee, Amy; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Dominic and McKenzie Alcott. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Walter Robert Frederick, Jr., age 65 of McKeesport, died Friday, August 30, 2019. He was born in McKeesport on September 28, 1953 and is the son of the late Walter Robert and Anna Mae Freund Frederick. Walter was a former member of the Eleventh Ward Club and a member of the McKeesport PNA Lodge #352. One of his favorite past times was watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams.
He is survived by his brothers, William “Toots” (Lon Jean Krivda) Frederick of McKeesport and Charles Frederick of McKeesport. He is also survived by stepchildren, Lisa (Marty) Odenthal of McKeesport and Rick Dyga of West Mifflin, step great grandchildren, Zachery, Harley and Katie Odenthal and Jaiden and Wyatt Dyga, nephews, Chuckie and Billy Frederick, Zachary and Nathan Krivda, and niece, Natalie Gregg, also great nephew, Kameron and great niece, Kendahl. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Dyga.

Gloria E. Murtha, age 93 of West Mifflin, died Thursday, August 29, 2019. She was born in Mount Clare, PA on November 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Norman G. and Leona B. Miller Schankel. Gloria enjoyed knitting, crocheting, word puzzles, bowling, and in her youth, she was an outstanding swimmer and diver. She loved to color so much that she started a coloring club at Locust Grove Personal Care. Gloria was a member of the USO and was also a World War II Coast Watcher. She was a Eucharistic Minister, taught CCD, and was a premarital counselor.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, John F. Murtha, age 98; sons, John M. (Mary Ann) Murtha of Chambersburg, PA, Richard J. (Pamela) Murtha of Evans, GA, Mark D. (Katherine) Murtha of Clinton, PA, David T. (Debbie) Murtha of Avon, NY, and Kenneth L. (Debbie) Murtha of Worcester, PA; daughter, Eileen L. Murtha of West Mifflin; grandchildren, Bethany R. Murtha, Evan M. Murtha, Kelley A. Murtha, Allison L. Murtha, Bradley A. (Jamie) Murtha, Jeffrey K. (Tara) Murtha, Matthew C. (Maddy) Murtha; great grandchild, Carson K. Murtha. Paul Ernest Hollenbeck, 91, passed away at his home in Knoxville, Tenn., July 29, 2019. He was born in McKeesport in 1927, the son of Elizabeth (Parton) and William Martin Hollenbeck.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a graduate of Robert Morris College, member of the Masonic Fraternity, and the American Legion. His career was spent as a buyer with Westinghouse Electric in McKeesport and later as a manager of quality control with Martin Marietta in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
He leaves his wife of 72 years, Jean Isabel (Haidle) Hollenbeck and daughters Cathy Wieland of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Cynthia O'Hara of Madison, Ala., and Paula Kraemer from Daniel Island, S.C. He will be missed by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were private. Inurnment was at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville, Tenn. Services in charge of Cremation Options Inc. of Knoxville, Tenn.
