Helen Louise (Hayden) Bickerton, age 96, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at UPMC Mercy. She retired after 19 years as an executive secretary for Westinghouse at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin. She was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Elizabeth where she was the church secretary in the 1960s. She was also a bank teller in Elizabeth.

Elizabeth "Betty" (Cartia) Vozar, 88, of North Versailles, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2018. She was born July 2, 1929 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Charles Carmela and Maria Rosa (Urblik) Cartia. She was the wife of the late John Vozar. Elizabeth was a member of Miller United Methodist Church in North Versailles. She had previously worked for Orlando's Fruit Market, Cox's Dept. Store and the Salvation Army, all in McKeesport. She enjoyed cooking and baking daily for her family and friends. She also liked Sudoku and variety puzzle books. She loved watching the Food Network, game shows and the news. She never thought of herself, instead, always put others first. She was constantly thinking of what else she can do to make people happy - especially her family. She attended McKeesport High School, but had to quit at 15 years old to take care of her mother. She is survived by her sons, John (Becca) Vozar of Liberty Borough, Kenneth (Kathy) Vozar of North Versailles, and Pastor Ron (JoAnn) Vozar of Fredericktown, Ohio, and her daughter, Liz Vozar of Lincoln Borough. She was the sister of Jim (Nancy) Cartia of Manteca, CA, grandmother of Breanne (Michael) Cleary, Chelsea Vozar, Shaun Vozar, Wayne (Kellie) Vozar, Kristy (Bryan) Conklin, and Kelly (Jay) Russell. She was the great-grandmother of Emmalyn, Taylor, Zach, Ethan, Blake, Annalise, Caleb, and Luke. Elizabeth was one of thirteen children.

Stiens Hinerman of Elizabeth Township and the late Regis Alan Hinerman, Sr. Regis was a 1986 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and had worked for Basic Carbide. He had a passion for cars and mechanics. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his twin children, Emily Elizabeth and Nicholas James Hinerman at home along with their mother, Lisa Danca and Toni Lynn, sister, Dana Hinerman-Augustine of Collinswood, NJ, brother, Brandon J. Melanie Sue Moffat, 63, of Dravosburg,  passed away Saturday, March  3, 2018. She was born September 28, 1954 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Alma Mae Eisenhuth Moffat and Robert (Evelyn Farkas) Moffat of Boston. Melanie was a retired Administrative Assistant at Elizabeth Forward School District with 35 years of service. She was secretary to the High School Principal, Guidance Dept, Athletic Dept. and District Business Manager as well as the District Special Education Dept. Melanie was instrumental in organizing the Senior Citizen's Luncheon, Graduation Ceremonies and the Crisis Control Team. She was also the Assistant Drama Director at the high school and started the former Girls Club of Boston. Melanie was secretary to the Board of Directors of the Dravosburg Housing Authority and was also the Board Secretary of White Thorn Lodge Nudist Camp in Chippewa. She had also worked for Sears' Jewelry Dept. in Century III Mall. In addition to her father, she is survived by sisters, Belinda  (David)  Donahoe and Angel (Terry ) McCormley of Dravosburg and Janine (Daniel) McBride of White Oak,  brothers, Gordon (Joni) Moffat of Butler and Robert (Annette) Moffat of North Port, FL,  step-sisters, Renee (Steven) Spitzer of Somerset, KY, and Tabitha  (Charles) Geramita of Castle Shannon, aunts, uncles, cousins, 14 nieces and nephews, and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary Esther Kratzenberg, 77, of Dravosburg, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Lawson’s personal care home in Jefferson Hills.  She was born February 17, 1941 in McKeesport to the late Joseph and Marion Koontz Chonko.  Mary was the loving wife of 51 years to the late Joseph A. “Bud” Kratzenberg who passed away in 2008. She is survived by daughters, Sandy Flanagan of West Mifflin, Wendy Curran of Dravosburg, Diane (Ed) Losteter of Jefferson Hills, Lauren (Scott) Seach of Glassport; grandchildren,  Nikki, Joe, Jessi, Sam, Megan, A. J., Joseph; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Noah, Gwen, Isaac, Grayson; sisters, Pat Bucy, Ona (Mark) Horgas, Ginny (Ralph) Lemak, Ruth (Lud) Pisko; brother James “Jimbo” (Marie) Chonko.  Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by siblings, Joellen Wigton, Timothy Chonko; sons-in-law, James Flanagan, and Mark Curran.  She was a lifelong Coal Valley resident, a member of St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, liked QVC, Hallmark Channel, cooking channels, and loved the beach.  Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S. M. Karl E. "Sonny" Haney, 86, of West Mifflin, died March 2, 2018. He is the son of the late Karl and Bertha (Evans) Haney.  Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Madeline (Shidel) Haney; children Karl (Jillian) Haney, Kathleen (the late Nicholas) Bracco, Patti Walendziewicz and Marcia (Chris) Rogers; grandchildren Anthony (Tanaz), Joseph and Leeanne Bracco, Andrew, Erin and Danielle Walendziewicz; Kaitlyn Haney; Samantha and Nicholas Rogers; great grandchildren Gabriella, Isabella, Adalina, Hannah, Kasey, Aiden and Elijah.  Karl was retired from Keystone Auto Parts in Christy Park; was  a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; American Legion Post 701 and served in the US Army Korean War where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, his plants and animals, camping and working with his hands. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Mon. 6-8 and Tues. 2-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Wed. 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am mass at Holy Name Church with Father Tom Lewandowski.  Interment immediately following at Lebanon Church Cemetery.

LLOYD SR. 63, of Clairton, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  He was born on Nov. 2, 1954, in McKeesport, to the late Thomas George Lloyd Sr. and Elizabeth (Conroy) Lloyd.  He was a box assembler at the Box Factory, Pittsburgh. He was the husband of the late Lois Lloyd. He is survived by his son, Earl William Lloyd Jr. of Clairton. He was the brother of Mary Jane (James) Groff of Duquesne, Thomas G. Lloyd Jr. of Donora, the late Elizabeth Snyder and late Donna Lloyd.  Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Edward Greenewald, 89, of Elizabeth Township and Whitacre, VA , died Thursday, March  1, 2018. He was born May 16, 1928 in Christy Park and was the son of the late Herman and Marie Greenewald. He was the husband of the late Betty Lee Whitacre Greenewald who died February 21, 2014. Edward was a member of the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp., and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Elizabeth Pantry. He worked for US Steel Irvin Works Engineering Department and retired from the Accounting Department of US Steel Homestead Works. Edward was a Korean veteran and served in the Armored Division. He kept active playing golf and traveling. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Lee (Dr. Kerry) Bertschinger and his son, Robert E.  Greenewald of Gore, VA, grandchildren, Brandy Lee, Bridget Lee and Brent Van Bertschinger, sister, Marie Plencik of North Versailles, great-grandchildren, Vannah, Aubrey, Zander and Keidan, nieces and nephews.
