She was born April 24, 1926 in Uniontown and was the daughter of the late John and Rose Coltus Kovach. She was the wife of the late Frank Grdich who died June 19, 1990. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McKeesport and retired from McKeesport Area School District. She is survived by her son, Frank Joseph Grdich of Christy Park, sisters, Dorothy (Sam) Kirk of McKeesport, Elizabeth Allsworth of Versaillles, Mary Czura of Dravosburg, Josephine Voytek of Uniontown, Martha Gadish of Allison, Patricia Samol, Stella Carpenter, and Helen Fialko of Cleveland, OH, granddaughter, Jennifer  (Brian) Case of Elizabeth Township, great-grandchildren, Justin Sturkie and Jonathan Mayersky, nieces and nephews.

Michael Ferraro Wotherspoon and Anthony Ferraro, and wife of the late Jon Phillips. Helaine was employed by PA Coach Lines for years where she held numerous different jobs. She was a driver, a dispatcher, a bookkeeper, worked in payroll and was a school bus monitor. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church and was past president of the Christian Mothers Rosary Society and the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Mary Ann Scapellato, 86, of Lower Burrell, formerly of Clairton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Belair Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lower Burrell.  She was born June 10, 1931, in Clairton, to the late Andrew and Mary Faith Butvin.  Mary Ann was the loving wife of the late Samuel Scapellato.  She is survived by daughters, Rose Mary (Bob) Mozes of Mars, Donna McGivern of Lower Burrell, Denise Salaske (George) of Elizabeth; son, Daniel (Karen) Scapellato of Jefferson; sisters, Theresa (Gary) Thayer of Finleyville, Helen Huss of Lakewood, Pauline (Elmer) Fournier of Elizabeth; brothers, Andy (Sandy) Butvin of Portage, Joe Butvin of Donegal; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and spouse, Mary Ann was preceded in death by daughters, Anna Marie Ellis and Anita Shiner.  Mary Ann resided in Clairton for 81 years, loved crocheting, gardening, artistic painting, word puzzles, sewing and dogs.  Visitation will take place Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5 – 8 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton,  PA   15025.  A memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by interment at St. Clare Cemetery.  Online condolences may be offered at www.finneyfuneralhome.com

He was a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Foster) Valiquette, Sr. He was a retired clerk from the US Steel Duquesne Works, Irvin Works and the Homestead Works. Bill was a member of the Croatian Club of Duquesne and a member of the Duquesne High School 1944 State Basketball Championship Team, he proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Husband of the late Virginia M. (Johnson) Valiquette; father of William H. (Chris Ann) Valiquette III of West Mifflin and the late Janet Renshaw who is survived by her former husband, Daniel Pollak; also seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter; brother of Gloria (late Ted) Shell of Port Vue, Arlene Gida and the late Jack Valiquette. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held in McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. Pastor Peter B. Roy, officiating.
