John H. “Jack” Waugaman, Jr., age 83 of West Mifflin, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2018. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born November 14, 1934 in Duquesne, the son of the late John H. and Helen Ringler Waugaman, and husband of the late Kathryn March. Jack worked for Kennywood Park for many years on the pony tracks, and as a ride operator. He was a foreman for US Steel Duquesne Works for 31 ½ years. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and playing cards.

Derek "DB" Betz, 35, of Greenock, passed away tragically on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. He was born February 13, 1983 in Pittsburgh  and was the son of  Sharon Betzner of Mississippi and Paul (JoAnn Politano) Betz of Elizabeth Township. Derek worked as a machinist for Vista Metals and loved his two precious fur babies, CiCi the cat and Maggie the dog.  In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by a sister, Kaylee (Luis) Eveler of Louisiana, brother, Joshua P. Betz of Elizabeth Township, girlfriend, Jessica M. Hunter of Greenock, nephews, Kain, Jordyn and Christian Eveler, and niece Brooklyn Eveler.

George, 79, of Port Vue, died Aug. 29, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late Emil and Laura Russen.  Beloved wife of the late Ronald George.  Arlene is survived by daughters Lynn George of Munhall and Debby George of Port Vue; sons John George of Collegeville, Pa, Joseph (Julie) George of Farmington Hills, MI, David (Karen) George of West Homestead and Anthony (Daisy) George of Springfield, GA; grandchildren Jessica and Sammy; brothers Emil Russen and Frank (Marianne) Russen; sister Paula Thompson; also nieces and nephews.  Arlene was a former employee of US Steel and also worked as a retail manager and bookeeper and also was a talented musician and played drums, she loved listening to country music, and was an artist she loved to draw and paint. She also had a passion for cooking and baking as well as camping and fishing. She loved spending time with children and especially her grandchildren.

Kenneth Wayne Holmes, 88, of Dravosburg, passed away at home Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  He was born December 20, 1929 in McKeesport to the late Jerry and Mary Cigrand Holmes.  Kenny was a loving husband to his late wife, Iva Beitler Holmes for 38 years.  He is survived by nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents and wife, Kenny was preceded in death by his faithful companion of many years, Betty Hollenbeck; sisters, Mattie Econovich, Emmie Holmes; and brothers, William, Charles, John, Jerry, and Harry Holmes. He served in the US Army during WWII and also served during the Korean War, he was a retired employee of US Steel National Tube in McKeesport, was a member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church,  was an avid hunter, loved driving cars and golfing, but most of all loved his family.  Kenny was honored and delighted to receive his “60 year” pin as a member of the Duquesne/McKeesport Lodge #731 of the Free and Accepted Masons.  Arrangements have been entrusted to I. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4^th Street, Dravosburg,  PA   15034.  As per Kenny’s wishes, there will be no visitation; however, a graveside service will be conducted at Donegal Cemetery on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am. He was always tinkering and fixing things, especially cars, and proudly served his country in the Army in WWII in the first armored division, 81st recon division. He was born August 18, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William Porterfield and Belva Frances Kauffman Caudill. Bart worked as a scheduler for Bechtel Bettis 40 plus years, and also owned and operated his own painting business, Bart's Quality Painting. He was a member of Park Baptist Church. He was a board member of The White Oak Athletic Association and went on to organize and coach basketball, softball and baseball. He ran the winter basketball program for 15 plus years, as well as officiated many high school basketball games in the area.
