John Townslan Hoak, 77, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at home. He was born May 17, 1941 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Roderick and Martha (McLean) Hoak. John served as a Paratrooper for 2 years in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He spent most of his life being self-employed. His talents as a multi-skilled Craftsman led to being co-owner of Hoak Brothers, Inc., West Newton Lumber Co. , Yough Fuel and Energy and most recently Hoak Construction, Inc., building quality homes. His favorite pastime was enjoying adventures with his wife and grandchildren, especially involving travel. He was a mentor to many young men and was a member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol A. (Kite) Hoak. They were married June 13, 1964. He is also survived by his sons, John B. (Jessie Sedlock) Hoak and Jeffrey T. (Tabatha) Hoak of Elizabeth Township and Jason C. (Melissa Kelly) Hoak of Pittsburgh, sister, Martha Jane Donaldson of Buena Vista, grandchildren, Jeffrey (Alysa), Jacob, Randy, Jason, Ashley, and Julia, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and many brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.

Samuel R. Mazzei, 86, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2018. He was born September 5, 1931 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Samuel N. and Francis (Soloman) Mazzei and was also preceded in death by his wife Eunice M. (Sestrich) Mazzei; a brother Francis Mazzei, and sisters Angela Palotti and Mary Williams. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, North Huntingdon, retired employee of Calgon Carbon, Pittsburgh, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Teamsters Local 249, and a member of VFW Post . Samuel is survived by his children Samuel R. (Lauren) Mazzei Jr. of North Huntingdon and Joseph R. (Tammie) Mazzei of Industry; grandchildren Catherine E. , Joseph S., and Katie M. Mazzei; a brother Robert Mazzei of Alison Park; and nieces and nephews.

Gerard "Jerry" Francis Boyle, Jr., 77, of White Oak, died Thursday, August 9, 2018 at home. He was born November 9, 1940 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Gerard F. and Elizabeth D. (Fesco) Boyle. Jerry retired from AT & T and had previously worked for TCI Cable and Centre Video. He was a US Army Veteran and was a member of various social and fraternal organizations. He was founder of SWAT Class of 1958. He is survived by his wife, Kathy D. (Gebhardt) Boyle, son, Henry D. Donald F. Uchnar, age 81, of McKeesport, died August 9, 2018, at home. Born July 2, 1937, in Braddock, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Birkosky) Uchnar and the husband of the late Viola M. "Bubba" (Cypher) Uchnar. Don was retired from the US Post Office, where he was a letter carrier, with 38 years of service. He was a US Marine veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

Klement E. Segina, 80, of West Mifflin died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in Duquesne, November 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Irene A. (Polivka) Segina. Mr. Segina was a retired employee of the former U. S. Steel Corp., Duquesne Works, and the McKees Rocks Forging Company. He proudly served his country in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (Stout) Segina, he is survived by three sons, Gregory (Lisa) Segina, Michael (Kathy) Segina, and Jason (Heather) Segina, a brother, Joseph (Nancy) Segina; eight grandchildren, Katie Bisuti, Felicia Saket, Dillon Boggs, Emily Saxon, Connor Segina, Tyler Axon, Gunner Segina, and Ares Segina; and one great grandson, Braden Bisuti.

Delbert “Pav” Ivan Pavlick, 90, of Clairton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born March 29, 1928 in Duquesne to the late Samuel and Mary Hollish Pavlick. Delbert was a loving husband for 43 years to the late Edith A. Azzari Pavlick. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his adoring daughters, Valerie Pavlick-Gnazzo of Clairton, Adrianne (Curtis) Pavlick-Miller also of Clairton, Michele (Claude) Sims of Port Vue; grandchildren, Zachary, Athena (Nathan), Jared, Xavier, Lennox (Garrett), Santeaun, Hunter; and brother, Samuel (Mabel) Pavlick of Florida; nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Delbert was preceded in death by granddaughter, BreAnne; and sisters, Margaret Pearson & Ethel Pavlick. He was a proud veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Delbert was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Duquesne, was employed by the US postal service for 56 years, was an avid golfer, enjoyed softball, bowling, played football in the army while he was stationed in Japan, and was the basketball coach at St. Clare of Assisi for 37 years. In 2005, he won “PA’s Outstanding Older Worker” award which is a prestigious national award given to elder workers (only 1 per state) to acknowledge their years in the workforce. He was a proud and loving man who would help anybody at any time, especially his family. Visitation will take place Friday August 10, 2018 from 3 – 9 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 am followed by entombment at Lebanon Church Cemetery.
