Earl R. Byers Jr., age 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Briarcliff Pavilion, North Huntingdon.  He was born May 25, 1926 in Glassport, PA, a son of the late Earl and Madge Hunt Byers.  Prior to his retirement, Earl was a chief aviation mechanic and was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He was a member of the Ridge Runners Trailer Club and McKeesport Gun Club.  He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.  He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Jane Thomas Byers; children, David and his wife, Lenore, Donna Baker and her husband, Dennis, Lori Higginbotham and her husband, Bill, Kevin Byers and his wife, Mary Ruth; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Entombment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Earl.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
