Doris M. Carlson, 84, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Greenock, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was born August 28, 1931 in Harrisburg and was the daughter of Charles R. Moyer and Pearl Roos Moyer Pellechia. Doris graduated from John Harris High School and the Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she found her way to Mckeesport, PA, where she met and eventually became the devoted and tolerant wife of Bill Carlson for 55 years until his passing August 25, 2012.

Born August 18, 1930, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward and Edith (Nystrom) Slater and the husband of the late Rachel “Rae” (Hyndman) Slater, for nearly 65 loving years, whom he married on February 17, 1951.

Mary Lou Smith, 85, of Bunola, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at home. She was born March 1, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Anna L. Hester Markus. She was the wife of the late Walter A. Smith, Jr. who died February 12, 1984. They were married for 28 years. Mary Lou was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and had worked for the former G.C. Murphy Co. Home Office in McKeesport, Rost Electric Co., and the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth.

Jane N. (Konieczny) Iskat, age 89, of East McKeesport, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. She was born April 11, 1927 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Albert and Caroline (Kutka) Konieczny. She was a secretary for Allegheny County for over 40 years, a long-time member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Wilmerding, and was a former member of the Silver Sneakers Club in Turtle Creek. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Nick Iskat, and her sister, Delores Lenart.

Lois M. Scandinaro, age 82 of North Huntingdon, died April 12, 2016 at Forbes Regional Hospital. She was born July 10, 1932 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Robert and Loretta Mauer Thornton. Lois was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. She enjoyed crocheting, was  an avid card player, watching game shows, camping, jigsaw puzzles, word games, spending family time with her children and grandchildren.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank, daughters, Lois Scandinaro, Sandy Spudy and an infant daughter, three sisters, Loretta Rischer, Mary Wise and Betty Rall. She is survived by two sons, Frank (wife Beth), and Tom Scandinaro, one daughter, Lois Hathaway (husband Jack), three brothers, Bob, Joe and Jim Thornton, one sister Patricia Quesenberry , grandchildren, Tina Folmer, Dennis Erdly, Deborah Kuhens, John, Chris and Lee Scandinaro, Cassie Palmer, Matthew and Jessica Spudy, 17, great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the James W. Haberjak, age 90, of Youngwood, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016  at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, PA.  She was born June 30, 1925 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late John Henry Freeman Sr. and Lula Tallentire Freeman Ehrenburg.  Prior to her retirement, Ruth worked for Cox's, McKeesport in the Credit Department.  She enjoyed macrame, playing bingo and singing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Haberjak Sr; and brother, John Henry Freeman Jr.  She is survived by her son, Edward Jr. and his wife, Genevieve; daughter, Mary Panico and her husband, Julius; five grandchildren, Lisa Panico Jackson (William), Wendy Lieberum (Eric), Erin Toner (Tom), Leah and Edward Haberjak; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Raelynn and Kaleb.  Friends will be received at the James W.
